I'm just hoping that the fact that some people have turned it off isn't going to make it look like the people who haven't are being selfish / attention-seeking / whatever.
I'm glad it's something you have to opt out of rather than opting in, but I'm still worried that the end result is that those of us who don't care about it and haven't opted out now look like we're wearing big "VALIDATE ME PLZ" buttons. ;D
Maybe we can come up with one of those....otherwise...if you want to opt out no biggie...if you want to keep it on...then keep it on...if you want to actively keep track of your karma...then no biggie either....
As I have stated all along...I think it shouldn't be a big deal AT ALL....thus I turned mine off....if you don't think it's a big deal AND want to keep it the way it is...fine. The best way to do that is...don't make a big deal about it! LOL! ;D Othewise you are just....making a big deal about it!
ok - so now there are people that have issues with the fact that some people that just did not care in the first place are opting out of karma - that I really don't get. Why should it matter to anyone else on Inforoo if I choose to opt out of karma? Why would anyone else care?
Subliminal caring....LOL! idk....I think people just see things in different ways....we see it as we DIDN'T have a choice before so we had to play the "karma" game...and now we don't have to....they see it as we are "going against the norm"...and making it an issue...when it was an issue all along cause we had to play a game we didn't really want to play cause there were no rules and no one was playing referee So now....you can choose to play or not...My take is....if you don't care the ultimate is don't play...or keep playing and just take it as it comes and don't complain about your karma one way or the other....if you have to bring it up publicly all the time then obviously you are "playing the game" LOL!

I don't usually complain about my karma; it is not a big deal to me, and typically I let is come and go as it will.
But I know someone here is repeatedly smiting me out of spite. I have watched my karma drop 20 points in the last few days, little by little. Never does it move more than one point an hour, and it seems to have been happening at a very consistent pace. I have said very little over the past few days, excluding the thread I started about Bonnaroo Baseball. While I may have said some smite-worthy things in that tread, most people seemed to agree with me sentiments, and I certainly don't think I said anything that would prompt two dozen people to smite me over the course of two days.
So, whoever you are - be a man and tell me whatever your problem is to my face. I don't mind if people disagree with me, but don't take it out on me in such a petty manner.

and this is why I opted out of karma - because I took a hit of close to 30 points in the course of 24 hours
Your karma will be the same as it was when you opted out....at least that's my understanding....I haven't had any interest in testing it out personally....

Someone is really out to get me. I've been smote more than 25 times over 4 days, and I know I haven't said anything that would warrant such a mass smiting.

Hey detective, ask one of the admins, i lost about the same amount in 2 days and they banned the person for a month, i know because that person made a new account to apologize to me

Hah - I guess I should have said, 'Type something to my face'.
I would never fight someone at Bonnaroo though . . . that's like stabbing someone in Heaven - not cool.
