I wish so bad NIN and Beastie Boys could switch so i could see MGMT and Yeasayer, but NIN is priority #1 this year. Springsteen, Phish, Wilco not bad either.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
NIN is sat and not to mention there is no way they can have NIN do lights in the sky and then have phish do their light show back to back on the same stage, the tear down and set up would take hours.
You do know the chances of NIN doing their lights in the sky show is incredibly low?

actually id say its pretty damn high. several people have mentioned the lights in the sky show is the reason bonnaroo signed them up.
not to mention with AC/Superfly saying they will have a 'special late night slot' its hard to believe they would not be doing the lights in the sky show.
edit to say: if its not the lights in the sky tour we will be getting some sort of special light show from NIN. if not AC/Superfly would not have a need to give them the 'Special late night slot' they would of put them as a pre-headliner. if i had to bet it would be the lights in the sky tour.

i think if they are going to do it there will be an announcement about it. because the tour nin will be doing won't be lights in the sky. if they are only doing it for one night in the middle of the tour they will want people to know about it.

somebody on here claiming to have inside info(cant remember who, but i believe it was the one who told us we would be gettin NIN) said that bonnaroo signed them up after watching their lights in the sky show with the agreement they would be bringing it to Roo.
once again, if its not light in the sky it will be a special light show. if not they wouldnt need the late night slot.
The reason I say its not likely is because the band has changed since the Lights in the Sky tour. It has gone from a 5 piece to a 4 piece. There is also a member playing now that was not on the Lights in the Sky tour. Plus they will be on tour without the LITS setup so they will not be rehearsing it.

0-5 %
Trent is done with that tour, he's said it many times.
NIN will NOT be doing Lights in the Sky. Why would they go back to the setup for their last tour?
well i would be very shocked if its their stripped down show that Trent is talking about for the tour. stripped down NIN does not equal 'special late night time slot', they would have them as a preheadliner.
its is going to be a light show at the very least equal of lights in the sky. so unless something has changed and NIN is no longer going with a stripped down set, they are bringing somethin to bonnaroo that they arent taking for the rest of the tour.

i definitely think they would do it just for the festival. especially if that is what they signed on for. like i said though, we will get an announcement if it's going to happen.

i agree we will get an announcement, much like with Kanye last year. at first Kanye was speculated to be having a closing show on which. bonnaroo made an announcement, i believe in april, that kanye would be bringing the glow in the dark show to roo.

If we did get Lights in the Sky, I can't tell you how relieved I would be. I made the HUGE mistake of seeing Kanye at Lolla. Kanye put on a amazing show for his hometown but I've been hearing things about Lights in the Sky from everyone who saw a show on that tour. One of the biggest music mistakes of my life.

Why does special late night set have to mean a crazy light show? In my opinion having a band that is easily big enough to be a headliner playing a late night is pretty special. And its not like they have not light show on their new tour. Its just not as complex as the LITS tour.

late night, stage sets at bonnaroo are supposed to be special. whether it be extended sets(MMJ and what Phil Lesh was supposed to have if not for Kanye) or very good visual shows(what Kanye was supposed to be and The Flaming Lips in 07).
id say the odds are much better we get great visual set from NIN then a 4 hour jam.
Just don't be disappointed when they don't do LITS. It is still going to be an amazing light night set. Heres a video from one of their shows a few days ago if you don't think so.

wow! that just got me really pumped for bonnaroo! damn. it's so faaarr away. karma for the video!
also, just a thought, what if trent's building something special just for the Roo show? not the lights in the sky setup but something entirely different and new?

i think that was an older statement, but i could be wrong. the last thing i remembered seeing was NIN being stripped down and more raw. which i took that to mean not much visuals, just music.
if they so come out with that stage show like the wall then it could fit the late night show.
We do know for a fact. Trent Reznor said himself that they will not be doing Lights in the Sky this tour. Bonnaroo is a stop in the middle of the tour. They aren't cracking out an old, retired light show for one concert in the middle of a tour.

when they were booked for bonnaroo they were still doing lights in the sky. if that is what they were booked for it is possible they are doing it for the festival. why wouldn't you bring your best show to the festival?

Because it's retired. They aren't taking the equipment with them on tour. They aren't going to have everything brought out to Tennessee for just one show.

so I think they are gonna do an african music themed tent this year on friday since they have all the african type acts scheduled for friday, King Sunny Ade, Viex Farka Toure, Toubab Krewe, Bela Fleck and Toumani Diabate, Femi Kuti latenight, and a soon to possibly be added Amadou and Mariam. That is 6 acts that are probably gonna be in a tent and I bet one of those acts is also scheduled for late night alongside Femi that we don't know about.
