NIN's Lights In The Sky was an incredibly intricate & expensive show involving multiple video screens & lighting setups, and revolved a particular setlist, which revolved around the lineup he had then. The tour is done & 2 members of that lineup left the band. This set will not be Lights in the Sky. Trent has said repeatedly that Lights in the Sky is done. What he's doing now is a 4-piece with him playing a lot of synthesizers, and changing the setlists night to night.
Keep in mind that if any other band used NIN's "stripped down" lighting setup, you'd walk away talking about how incredible the light show was - they never disappoint. It will be well worthy of a late night set. It's the only way to see NIN - if the sun was up, it just wouldn't work as well.
I was fortunate enough to see one of the LITS shows. It was out of this world. However, any show NIN puts on will be out of this world. The late night NIN show WILL have an incredible light show and visuals but it WILL NOT BE LIGHTS IN THE SKY. That is over.
Because it's retired. They aren't taking the equipment with them on tour. They aren't going to have everything brought out to Tennessee for just one show.
we'll see.
Im pretty sure that any artist would drag out any amount of old equipment necessary to astound for one of the HUGEST, most special shows of whatever tour they are on! Especially when there's some large $ to be made, and it's NOT at ALL like Bonnaroo is just "another stop on their tour" - it's a HUGE special thing, as if we all don't know that. I am not sure what Trent will do, but I'd say its definitely a 50/50 chance right now...none of us "knows" for sure at all...this is Trent guys - he will just do whatever he wants and it will amaze us all AS ALWAYS!!! See you all there!!!
This is the stupidest argument ever. It won't happen. 1. The stage setup was designed for a five piece. NIN is now a 4 piece. 2. One member of the band wasn't on that tour. 3. They won't have time to rehearse it since it will be in the middle of their tour. 4. Trent has stated that LITS is over.

SUre...there's NO way that there would EVER be anyone to fill a spot for Trent on the ENTIRE farm..uh huh....I still say it's just 50/50 folks!!! I guess we will all just see...and it's fun to wonder anyway!!!

We don't even know who will all be there yet? I didn't say that would happen, but I am using my imagination and it's not something that could NEVER happen. If they DID do LITS, like someone earlier mentioned they'd be bringing all of that "old" equipment to the farm just for that show - so if they DO LITS then they'd probably get that person back. I am just conversating on the possibilities..I am not ever arguing that they will do LITS - just throwing things out there. Sorry to make anyone mad...I am just participating in the converso! Thank yoU!
Trent funded the Lights in the Sky tour mainly with money out of his own pocket. That incredibly visual/light show is over, it's not coming back. If NIN has it at 'Roo, I swear to god I'll eat my pants and my t-shirt. The whole point of just having 4 members in NIN (Trent, Robin, Ilan and JMJ) is that the show is more raw, stripped down. And it allows them to play songs they haven't played in years, whereas if they played a song like "The Downward Spiral" during the LITS tour, they'd have to come up with a light/visual show for it.
Too much of a hassle to bring back just for a one-off show. We all love Bonnaroo, and it's an important time every year in most of our lives, but you've got to imagine to NIN that it's just another festival.
I was bored and decided to make my own Mock Schedule I just took bonnaroo schedules of the past and plugged in where I thought the acts this year would go. Credit to Sangreal for the african themed tent on Friday, I didnt know what to do with those acts so I just used your idea for the tent. So all credit to Sangreal for that tent, the rest is my (probably inaccurate but hey it was fun to do.) guess at the schedule. Just so you know TBA=To be Added.

^^I like that, except for the fact you gave Crystal Castles a criminally short 45 minute set. This ain't Lolla, fool!
I was basing this on last year when they had money mark for 45 minutes followed by Chromeo & Ghostland. Unfortunatley I think thats whats going to happen, I think its the only way to fit all 3 of those electronic acts in one tent. I think that there wont be much time between CC & Girl Talk so I guess they could play for an hour.

If I forgot any artists or anything doesnt look right feel free to let me know.
pretty good guesses. there are some differences with my mock schedule. the main things i would change on yours is tv on the radio won't be in a tent. and i doubt robyn hitchcock is on which stage.
Oh man, when i clicked on that and saw DEP news my head almost exploded like the guy at the Clayton Bigsby rally. Too bad nothing about them being at Roo. that would be great.
and i doubt del mccoury will be on thursday, hes way to big for a thurs. spot...i'm guessing spunday
that too.
Yeah I didnt realize he was so high up on the line up. I admittedly have never heard of him so I didnt realize he was that big but I agree that he makes more sense on Sunday.
As for TVOTR I think that they make sense as an afternoon which stage as well as a Tent closer. Its hard to pick a slot for them, but I thought they would make more sense as a tent closer against Al Green & Snoop Dog. I think they give a good counter balance to those two acts who I think will be playing around that time on Friday.
