Yeah, they pack you further into the campgrounds and honestly the back half of the campground is easily more comfortable and less sketched out. The walk can suck from if you're 20 minutes out from Centeroo, but things are just much less stressful.
It seems the closer to Centeroo, the more horror stories.
Rap mainstay Snoop Dogg will be back on the road this spring for a one-month tour. Sandwiched between two festival appearances, the outing picks up May 4 at The Village in Little Rock, AR, and runs through May 17 at Shoreline Ballroom in Hilton Head Island, SC. Other scheduled stops include a May 6 show at the House of Blues in Houston, TX, a May 11 concert at The National in Richmond, VA, and a May 14 gig at Amos' SouthEnd in Charlotte, NC. Hip-hop/afro-beat musician K'naan will provide opening support throughout the brief tour.
Public onsales for the spring jaunt begin March 20 at 10 a.m. local time, except tickets for Snoop's May 7 performance in New Orleans, LA, which become available March 21.
In addition to his regular tour dates, Snoop Dogg is also scheduled for a couple festivals this season. The rapper will warm up for his spring run with a May 3 appearance at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, TN, and follow it with a June 11 set at the summer staple Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN.
Snoop Dogg's spring tour will pave the way for his tenth studio album, "Malice in Wonderland," which has a projected September 2009 release. His previous effort, 2008's "Ego Trippin'," debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
K'naan is supporting his second studio album, "Troubadour," released in February 2009. The sophomore effort received mostly high marks from critics and peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard 200. Before joining Snoop Dogg on tour, K'naan is scheduled to perform on April 19 at Coachella Festival in Indio, CA.

Alright, so let me ask your opinion... from a camping standpoint, let's say you happen to be coming from Knoxville on Wednesday night after seeing Phish (which I am)... am I better off getting a room and hitting the road first thing in the morning, or just rolling right from the show?

Personally, I would get a room, rest up and roll into Bonnaroo late morning/early afternoon. You're not going to miss any of the music, and really there is almost no advantage to being closer to Centeroo, imo.
That June 11th date has been on his MySpace and web site for a while now. There's nothing that suggests TicketNews.com has any inside information - they're likely just repeating what is on his MySpace, which is almost always incorrect. Many artists just put the first day of the festival as the date they are performing.
I would imagine that in some cases (say, for artists that don't have other dates scheduled around Bonnaroo) that the folks at Superfly may not have even scheduled them yet. This would give them more flexibility when working around the bands that have scheduled tours.
In other news, Snoop is not playing Thursday night.
You do realize that Jambase has him listed as Thursday too, right?
I mean, this is kind of one of those things that has been confirmed through multiple sources of publicity for Snoop Dogg, is now being confirmed by third party news sources reporting on his tour with K'Naan and is still being ignored because...."Bonnaroo never ever has major acts play Thursday?" Isn't that the same logic that made people claim with 100% certainty that Kanye would play a late night act in a tent because they never do late night What Stage stuff?
I'm not saying he will with absolute certainty be playing Thursday, but I think it's time we can assume the date has legitimacy in theory.

Right on - Thanks for the heads up, man... I think I'm leaning that way, plus it'd be nice to snag a last shower before the main event. Appreciate it!

remember you could be waiting in line to get into the grounds for hours though so don't wait too long.

I thought I asked this but I can't seem to find where I did or any answer to it so I guess I'll ask again.
The Bonnoroo site doesn't have any schedules up at all, but I read on the message boards at bonnaroo.com and here about when who is playing. It seems like most of this is just everyones guess... is that all it is at this point or are there credible sources for some of the set times/days?? just curious... if you can't tell, im a noob to Roo thx.

Everything this year is just a guess. The schedules come out in May just a little bit before Roo. People are guessing based on times and dates posted on artists' websites and myspaces and also based on everyone's general feel based on past years and on the artists themselves. This thread exists so everyone can speculate on where they want and believe each artists would be placed. Hope that helps.

ok, cool. yeah this is my first year and i wasn't sure how it all worked, thanks!
i have long said snoop vs. down on thursday if only because of angry hip hop rooers after Kanye this year. Snoop on thursday would make a lot of ppl happy, including me who could see something else when he was gonna be playing. And i think we may be over exxagerating how big Snoop is. Its not really comparable to WSP being listed as thursday because WSP has always headlined. Snoop is not a headliner worthy act. But big nevertheless.

I don't. Every year there is one band that has Thursday listed that everyone is like "OMG maybe itz a thurs headliner you guyz lol!!!1". One year (last year) it was WSP - they had that date listed on their website, it was on Pollstar, it was on Jambase...but of course it wasn't true.
Yes, many outlets are reporting it. But they're all pulling their info from one place - Snoop Dogg's website/MySpace, which, as we've seen in the past with other artists, oftentimes lists the first day of the fest as just a general placeholder until the schedule is completely put together.
Again, Snoop will not be playing Thursday night.
Oh, wow. You do not know everything. I've said it once, I'll say it again. Stop putting your opinions as facts. It's ignorant and it makes you look stupid.

I'll add my two cents: Snoop Dogg will not be on Thursday. This is a fact. Not because anyone knows it or has inside information, but because it's common sense not to put your 8th billed act on Thursday night. Lots of people would miss him and that would not make for a happy crowd. It's common sense, folks

Actually everything he said (except the last line) is absolutly true. And his argument, which is summed up in the opinion stated in the last line, makes much more sense to me than any arguments I've heard for Snoop on Thursday.
edit---On second look, Jug, Widespread Thursday was the 07 rumor. Last year was Kanye who listed Thursday on his website.
