wow...i don't know what to say about the additions...i'm glad they've arrived...i still think a few big things are to come - allman brothers, maybe a few others...i don't much care for the comedy because in the two times i've been to roo i never wanted to waste time waiting to get in the comedy tent....roo's about the music for me and nothing else...i love the fact that passion pit, white rabbits, tony rice and pretty lights are playing...oh yeah...seeing heartless b@stards on there made me dance/scream/jump around my house until i lost my breath and had to sit down/calm down...i'm from cincinnati and so are the heartless b@stards so thats why i'm happy for them...they're also playing a show in town tonight with black joe lewis and the honeybears...unfortunately i have to go to work in like 10 minutes, so i'll miss there show tonight...
later tonight i'm going to go back over my mock and figure some sh*t out...like sangreal said, the schedule's going to look totally different this year....
here's to hoping they begin the music at noon on thursday and start letting people in the gates on wednesday morning...
Ani Difranco is scheduled for Friday via her website, I'm guessing she will be a pre-headliner in the tent we expect Lucinda Williams and the other women to be playing in.
Awesome work. The thought just occured to me that maybe they are trying to make the late night sets longer on Friday night so that the other sets are as long as Phish's set (1AM-5PM is my guess). I'm thinking Friday late night will look like this
What Stage: Phish
This Tent: Crystal Castles Pretty Lights Girl Talk Paul Oakenfold
That Tent: Public Enemy backed by the Roots Galactic with Guests
The Other Tent: King Sunny Ade Femi Kuti and the Positive Force
Anyone else think this may be the case? I also think that African (Friday) Bluegrass (Saturday), Metal tent (Sunday) is pretty likely

thanks just doing my part to help us work out the best mock schedule we can before we get the schedule and I do agree that this year will be different i'm thinking 5 acts per stage in the day instead of 4 in the past.
There were 89 stage/tent spots last year (14 on Thur., 25 on Friday, 31 on Saturday, and 19 on Sunday)
Already this year we have 9 acts scheduled for thursday 28 acts scheduled for friday 23 acts scheuled for saturday 10 acts scheduled for sunday AND 23 acts with no date yet.
SO we already have 4 more spots than we had last year. I think additions are over and its ready to get a good mock going.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

yea, i just counted 94 acts for this year (counting phish twice and adding super jam). last year there were 88 or 89 (i just counted 88, you got 89).

OK so I updated my mock (page 26). I did not do Thursday but figured out that I hadn't scheduled (17 bands) which seems likely since it seems like a few bands get added to Thursday every year. It took me awhile to figure it out but if Ani DiFranco plays the "Marley slot" by opening the What Stage, I managed to get it to work out pretty well including the additions of the Dead Weather, Allman Brothers Band, and The Roots to back Public Enemy (which I think will happen). Ani DiFranco against Erykah Badu just doesn't seem likely to me. Assuming the rest of additions will probably be cafe acts and Something Else except for ABB, The Dead Weather, the Roots, and guests for the Galactic set, my mock should be close, hopefully .
I don't think we are going to get any Dead this year. They've always been in the initial artist lineup (I think). With Phish playing two shows and the Dead playing Rothbury, I don't see any Dead happening other than the Dead Weather .
Either way i say adds are over. besides cafe and such.
Yeah, definately. I'm thinking The Roots backing Public Enemy, the Dead Weather (album comes out june 9th, seems like a lock to me), and ABB and that is it for the stages and main tents.
I'm thinking if we get any Dead, it will be Bill Kreutzmann in Something Else unless they add back the 12PM or 1PM slot to the What Stage on Sunday, then maybe we'd get Bob Weir and Ratdog, otherwise probably not.
But EVERYONE wants ABB, and have honestly been expecting it since last year. Why would Bonnaroo threaten to make people mad by holding off on adding them with eveyone else when they knew it would go over GREAT with the Roo crowd (and completely overshadow any negativity with Fallon or Public Enemy)?

They are probably trying to see what they can get out of this round of additions as far as ticket sales. You never want to show all your cards at once so they are probably holding on to ABB, Dead Weather, and The Roots til April or May. They will all probably come seperately too.

it is their 40th anniversary. they haven't announced their big summer tour for it yet. plus them canceling last year. equals a special announcement about their return.

Wow, if the Allman brothers don't get added but your schedule otherwise holds, Sunday will be a big pile of puke.
now that we have the additions i am feeling differently about the lineup this year. if fri. and sat. were not so great i wouldn't want to go. sun and thur. don't look great to me. luckily i do like coheed, down and dillinger, so if they are all sun at least i will have something to watch. thur. i will just have to discover something new. not that there is anything wrong with that, but i like to have at least 1 band that i know.
Sunday wouldnt be that bad. Wake up at 2 from being up all saturday to catch Heartless Bastards, then on to main stage for Public Enemy and the Allmans. Then catch some of Band of Horses before closing down with Phish.

I agree that Sunday is going to be a little weak this year. Oh well. Friday and Saturday are stacked. Better pack the running shoes for those 2.
I love how everyone is convinced that these mock schedules are accurate based off of info on MySpace, Pollstar, Jambase, etc.
What's more likely? That Superfly is going to overload the talent on Friday and Saturday so that people miss a ton of acts? Or that the information we have is woefully incomplete and that it's going to be more spread out than we realize?
I've said it before - I have a feeling many of these bands don't actually have a date designated yet. Except for the ones who have other tour dates scheduled (say, a band has Bonnaroo listed for the 12th and is elsewhere on the 11th, 13th, and 14th), I wouldn't be surprised if they simply put one day as a placeholder until they schedule is mapped out. This would give Superfly far more flexibility in terms of how they arrange things.
I really, really doubt that all the good ish is going to be on Friday/Saturday with the leftovers on Sunday.
pretty sure most of it is accurate. have you never been to bonnaroo before? they always load up on fri. and sat. and sun. is the lightest day. but my mock is nothing but a mock. while it may be accurate what day they are playing the set times are just educated guesses.
I am not saying your schedule is 100% correct, but my comments are based on assuming that it is. I think its great that you take the time to compile all this stuff. As of now, if your schedule is correct, Sunday looks weak. But who knows, the real schedule may have it all spread out different.

I've been every year except last year, and I realize that Sunday is usually the "lightest" day, but the mocks I've seen around here are ridiculous. There are bands playing pre-headliner slots on the Which stage that would most years play in the middle of the day somewhere. I just think that when the schedule actually does come out in May, we're going to be dumbfounded as to how all our projections turned out awry.
sun. is the only day i could see more adds. maybe some of the ones i am projecting for sun. are actually playing thur. and if down and the ting tings have really canceled, both were projected for sun.

I have no idea who is going to be pre-headliner to phish on the mainstage sunday, it has to be a big addition because all the other guess's we had are scheduled friday and saturday

I'd be very surprised if Ani Difranco didn't open the What stage on Friday. Her spot on the artist lineup is right about where that slot normally is and I can't see the Wailing souls playing the 3PM slot on the What Stage (I don't think it's ever been someone in the bottom half of the lineup). Works for me either way but I'm thinking a double shot of reggae in the afternoon on the Which Stage, The Itals and the Wailing Souls.

^^^^^The best addition of the day and wasn't even on the offical announcment. I've only listened to 4 of their songs so far, but this is a must see show for me. I can go to bed a bit happier now, thanks.

sangreal love the mock schedule you got there the only conflict I would have is between bela and ani difranco. I always go see bela every year I go because his music is so quacking amazing to me but I dont know I guess ill just have to decide when the time comes....
