if you notice the saturday headliner has always been mentioned first, then friday, then sunday. i would guess that phish is fri and sunday and bruce is sat. the bigger name gets the bigger night and phish gets to close it out.
wilco thursday would be cool. or beasties.
they are changing the tradition this year and Bruce is playing on sunday, via my source who knows Bruce and his management.
Do me a favor - tell your friend to tell Bruce to play on Saturday and stay away from Sunday night - that's where Phish should be.
I am not going to pretend to know anything about this, but I think having Springsteen play on Sunday makes a lot of sense. On average, Phish fans will be the more likely to stick out most of the entire festival for many reasons (avg. age, etc.) than Bruce fans. However, if they leave and clear out relatively early on Sunday, it might make it easier for those who want to just come see Bruce to make it for the Sunday show.
bruce will play saturday the top billed name is always the saturday what stage headliner
That has been the trend in the past years but this year it is changing, Bruce is playing sunday which is the word I got from my friend who knows Bruce and his management team. He told me Springsteen closes and two nights phish weeks ago and he was right. I have no reason to doubt this man I have known him for 6 years been to many bruce shows where I have been in the front 2 rows and met Bruce and the band because of him. He's the real deal and he's just as excited about Bonnaroo as we are and he wouldn't mislead me. Unless there is some scheduling change as it stand right now Bruce is closing Sunday. Bruce however is expanding his tour and from what I was told is going to headline Glastonbury in England so you never know if there is a scheduling change.

That makes no sense...only because if there are people who need to go to work Monday, then Phish is best option...Bruce needs to play Saturday night so everybody can see all headliners (you'll see Phish cuz they're headlining late night)...let's say half of festies are regular normal folks, and the other half are phisheads or college kids...well I'm going home early if Phish plays Sunday night only because I saw them late night...comprehend?

Haha, no I completely get your point and actually I would prefer the lineup to be that way. Pretty much the only point I was trying to make is that Springsteen playing at the end when the place may have cleared out a little may attract those ppl. who are die-hard Bruce fans but are not happy about having to deal w/ the Phish crowd. I really don't know anything about this... so will leave it to those in the know

hey guys, can you take the arguments somewhere else? this thread should be used to post schedule confirmations. trying to read through all your discussion makes it harder for me to keep up with to update on the first post. thanks.
sangreal, can you provide links on the first page, the way Jerzee did for the rumors thread? that would make things a lot easier, as we would be able to see the schedule confirmations with our own two eyes by clicking on the convenient link rather than opening another tab and typing things in ourselves... Yes, I'm lazy
With the way the schedule is stacked with "headliners" I think there is a definate chance of a big name act to play on Thursday. Every year Thursday gets more and more acts and it's just a matter of time when Bonnaroo is a full blown four day festival with a headliner each night. I don't know about most of you, but I am always there on Thursday afternoon and would love to get things started with Phish, Beasties, etc. on Thursday.

Gawd I hope that Bruce doesnt close out the festival. Im praying its Phish so I can get the hell out of there Sunday afternoon like always
That's always the way I did it too. The problem is, they really want a sizable chunk of people leaving on Sunday before the headliner. Most people would not leave before Phish. Bruce, on the other hand, WILL encourage people to leave (not me this year). Then factor in the condition a lot of people like to be in for Phish... something the Bonnaroo management knows that they will want to sleep off. Bruce closes... it's the only logical thing to do logistically.
I predict you'll change your mind on Phish. Just give them 15 minutes of your time.

I definetly intend to give Phish more than 15 minutes of my time. Hell Ill probably even watch a whole set. I will approach that show with a very open mind and would love nothing more than to walk away from the show saying, "Now I get it."
It just always worked out nicely to have a headliner sunday night I didnt really care to see and be able to depart the farm a little early get to the hotel, get a shower and some much needed rest for the 10 hour drive back. Its worked out this way for the past 5 years but Ill never be able to live with myself if I dont stay for Bruce

Let's get really out there... What if Phish plays friday and bruce plays saturday like a lot of people think. Sunday though... what if in the additional artists announcement, they announce the Dead is added and will be closing the festival on sunday? They did this for WSP last year, I don't think it is completely out of the question. 1% chance is better than knowing the Dead will be for sure playing somewhere else that weekend.
The guy who initially confirmed Bruce has said he's closing Sunday. I've heard this from one other source whom I deem credible who has a Superfly connection. Seems to be a done deal, but who knows.
the first post has been updated, with links and all. just found out yeah yeah yeahs are playing sat. fuck! that day is going to suck with all the conflicts.
