I really hope Grizzly Bear is truly on Thursday. I'm really looking forward to seeing them, and they'll be less likely to conflict with anyone I wanna see if they play on the first day.

I havent read through all the posts but Grace Potter and the Nocturnals says the 11th, i could see them as a thursday or sunday band so it may be true, Neko Case says the 11th as well, not so sure about that one

I agree. I think anyone listed for Thusday is questionable bc people just put down the first date of Roo. That said, Snoop on Which Thursday woul be greeeeat.
paul oakenfold is fri. so now they have oakenfold, girl talk and crystal castles all listed fri. they must be sharing a tent late night. which means there will be definitely be another big dj/dance act added for sat.
The only way to close out the festival is to have Phish do it.
Has anyone ever noticed what my friends and I referred to as "hippy Sunday" - most of the 'hippy' bands play on Sunday - and the Sunday night closer is always the most 'hippy' of the headliners?
true. although popular opinion seems to be bruce sunday, the top billed act is typically saturday and a jamband sunday. i really hope its phish to close the show

We've got four bands that could headline. Bruce, Phish, Beasties, and NIN. What if it goes down somethign like this?

people think there are going to be thur. headliners every year. some bands list thur. and everyone's minds start going. when they list thur. they are only listing the day the fest starts. i don't see it changing this year. but who knows?
sangreal i do agree with that, but the top of the lineup seems deeper then normal as there are 4 bands big enough to headline this year(and you could argue 5 with Wilco in there to).
theres a good chance you are right, just thowin the idea out there if snoops date is accurate.
Zac Brown Band has Thursday @ 11am on their myspace. I imagine this time is not right, but I think Thursday is a good possibility for them
that is probably the time they are set to arrive. didn't they play thur. a couple years ago? i imagine they will be playing during the weekend this time.

Last year, you could argue that Metallica, Pearl Jam, Panic, Kanye, Jack Johnson, and Phil Lesh & Friends were all big enough to headline. They've all headlined large festivals before. I do believe that all of those bands will play on the What Stage (except maybe Wilco) but I don't think they will open the What Stage area on Thursday and I don't think any of them will play Thursday.
IS there any particular reason they don't/can't open the What or Which stage on Thursday?
guess they don't want to do it because everyone has not arrived at the festival yet. and it could have been because they were running all stage power off of generators in the past and maybe they didn't set those up until last minute? but now that they have power running out there, maybe they could have bands on those stages on thur.? who knows? i still think they won't.

it almost seems impossible, but if i could catch all 4 of those, it would already be the best roo ever
I felt the same way. I feel like it's going to be impossible to have Phish late night not conflict with an artist I want to see. I'm hoping Volta/NIN/Phish also have separate times/schedules. Don't know what i'll do if they don't.
One phish show will be caught.......headliners are the only ones playing at that time.
It's the late night phish that has me worried bout conflicts. I'm hoping NIN gets a headliner spot or a late night like Kanye with not much else going on or some overlapping.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
