Camp Dr. Holly Goodhead now I remember the name of my camp site
how far of a walk was that to the venue? I am looking at a map and trying to get an idea of how long it will take to walk to Centeroo
Its a 30 minute walk the long way.
However, after noon on Friday they open up a side gate which helps us out alot, it goes around the other side of VIP and comes in left of What Stage. Very handy if you just want to get to Centeroo, I myself liked to walk through the campsites and left before it opened.

^yeah, that's why I don't so much mind being in BFE. It may be a good ways from Centeroo but there are always plenty of entertainment (and distractions) along the way.
05' - Camp Billy Ray Valentine (72) 06' - Camp Rusty Griswald (83) 07' - Camp Leis Einhorn (67) 08' - Camp Darth Vadar (12) ^ FINALLY!, Only takes 4 years to get close people, that your magic number
It only took us three years and that is where we would have been in 07 if we had not listened to friends who felt guilty for using my handicap placard - we should have just let them camp where they wanted and gone ahead and used it since I ended up with a stress fracture in my foot from all the walking.

for those in campsites...#47-53 what entrance did you use/where were u driving in from? are those the campsites with the bridge leading to them? they seem the furthest to me.
I camped in #56 Camp Allison Reynolds both years..(07 and 08) absolutely LOVED that spot. ide say 15-20 min walk.. i never really noticed the time.. it seemed just right.
I've got all the time in the world. My sleep study patient won't be waking up for another 2 hours.
So Cheeky, you are one of those folks who gets to play with CPAP/BiPAP pressures and smeer all the sticky goo into our hair to plant electrodes all over the patient. Then, you get to play with the settings for mm of H2O, while the patients ears pop......
But, I am sure that my wife would thank you and countless others for allowing her to not listen to her husband snore.
CPAP's at Roo......a complicated application of technology, generator, O2 concentrator, CPAP (me), and BiPAP (17 year old son). But at least I can have a fan running in my tent at night.

We were in #50, Camp Pussy Galore, in '08. We arrived too early, maybe 5:30 AM, off of I-24. Our car got directed through gates and twists and turns for what seemed like miles. I was a little miffed about getting stuck in what must've been the next state over. But, my attitude changed when they opened the shortcut through VIP (Saturday!?). The shortcut starts directly across from Woodland Ave. (not like the map shows) and comes out at the back of the field for the What stage. It'd be great if the shortcut was open for the entire festival.

I cam in from Exit 112 Bushy Branch, they took us all the way around the place and we figured we were far away since we were first in on Wed. night. Ended up great when they had the VIP shortcut open, even without I loved that location also, and it was not too far from Centeroo.

The walkway along Woodland Ave. was a little dicey. Broken boards on the boardwalk and treestumps made walking at night somewhat hazardous. Allowing foot traffic on the road would be a lot safer. Vehicle traffic is a concern only near the intersection with South 1st Ave. I guess Woodland Ave. is closed to pedestrians because of the location of the Primary Medical Compound.

yeah I could see that being a problem, and it was pretty slick after the rains. I was happy with my location though, and we had lights walking back at night.

last year (my first roo), i was put in camp clark griswold. i got there on friday and didn't spend time orienting myself with the campground before diving into centeroo.
the griswold camps can be slightly awkward to find returning from centeroo, if you're not oriented. as a result, i probably spent upwards of 2 hours wandering around dawn saturday morning trying to navigate my way back to camp. and of course it was cool and raining outside. but oh man when i did get back, that was satisfying.
All i can say is that being in Camp M last year, that boardwalk was TOTALLY dodgey, but appreciated... and the $5 taxi rides back to camp at night at 3am were the BEST $5 i spent the whole time i was there. In fact, I plan on bringing an extra $50 soley for taxi rides this year (just in case im in BFE... AGAIN.)

In 2006 we ended up in Camp M, no shortcut was at our disposal. We figured it was a 4 beer walk or 35 to40 min. We did have shade till 11 am so that was a plus

I don't think the lights were installed until Friday or Saturday. I remember the walk being pretty damn dark the 1st night. Busted planks on the boardwalk were a problem in heavy foot traffic. You didn't have clue a hole was coming unless someone in front of you fell through, or if people ahead gave warning to those behind, "hole!"
I too was ok with the location, but was ecstatic after the shortcut opened. I actually got in a argument with security about it being closed, since it appears on the map. Security at the entrance from the shortcut into Centeroo was much less "thorough" than at the main Bonnaroo archway entrance.
^^^Agreed. The security is less "thorough" at the shortcut and at the second entrance than at the Arch. And when it's hot - getting through that Arch in mid-day is a death trap. I saw 3 people go down in '07 waiting to get in. I suppose I wouldnt mind being in M (or that section in general) again. As long as they keep hiring the taxi's to drive my sleepy ass home at 4am, Im gold.

Couple of questions.
First off, what is that thing right by Camp Thunderlips? It's right next to it and 3rd ave and the food. It looks metallic and there's three of them. It's not on the legend, so just wondering. Actually, now that I look closer, it's all over centeroo. Second, what is this Shakedown Street that I keep hearing about? I ask cause I can't find it on here.

1. Those would be the shitters.
2. Shakedown Street = "unofficial" vendors, therefore not on the map.

Those would not be the "shitters" as someone else said - those would be official vendor tents. They may be selling pizza or water or other food of some sort - the "shitters" are indicated by the normals man/woman symbol that most toilets are identified by.
