Okay, I am ready for some accountability. Today was supposed to be the day that I start doing better, and I went out first thing and had an egg and cheese bagel for breakfast. But I logged it in and I'm going to turn it around for the rest of the day. My username on MFP is Hilaridawn.
I've had those days, Surf. You realize that your body just can't handle it anymore. I had a HORRIBLE weekend. Lots of booze, lots of bad food... Sigh. I just hope that I can do well enough the next few days that I can still be at somewhat of a loss for this week.

hahahaha. I've been a lazy butt for a couple weeks too much work too many social plans. I'm still at the office tonight, but I'm determined to go to the beach in late March so I must get back in my routine. It starts tonight.
For days when I need a quick intense workout I do a modified version of the workout routine the MissSchulze is always flanngin about here.
-12. Back on the horse as far as diet. Had a mediocre weekend, and cheated on Friday. Today Im under 500 cals so Im having a few gin and tonics to make up for the deficit.

Water Water Water!
So hard for me to put down that much water. I try every day and usually fall 20oz short of where I should be. Im sure I consume the 20 oz in other ways. I always feel like Im drowning myself.
I know that I've mentioned it before on here, but I play games/ set rules for myself in order to get all my water on. For example, I make myself dink my first (20 oz) bottle before I get to the office. Then I drink my coffee and tell myself that I need to finish water 2 before lunch time. So on.. It works for me!

I tend to back load on water unfortunately. Maybe only 20-40 oz early, but I will easily drink 60 at dinner and another 40 before night. Working to try and change that though.
I think it's a lot easier to drink water and not have sweet/caffeine cravings when I sleep enough too. It's when I'm running low that I find I want and extra pop or a couple of pieces of candy.
I got back into the swing last night so that's good. I'm going to gorge myself tonight, but I'm having homemade borsch. And I love borsch and only get it maybe once or twice a year.
something that helps me is going to the store and getting a 1 lb package of 98% fat free chicken or turkey meat (sliced, deli) and forcing myself to eat the whole thing and drink a bunch of water. Then keep drinking water.
Dunno if it will work for you, but it definitely helped me out of a couple of jams.

I had a CRAZY hungry day on Saturday, so I feel ya, Katbur! And although I am not that extreme, Surf has a solid base point. Protein is a huge appetite filler. I was always taught that if a meal isn't satisfying you, add more protein and/or healthy fat (aka a salad that doesn't have cheese, nor chicken, nor beans, etc.. won't fill you/ keep you satisfied for long). Water always helps too- at least temporarily

Man, this is the first one of these I've had since I got serious, I want to eat everything! And frankly if you know me you know I could probably accomplish that task
1/3rd pound of roast beef down my gullet with 40 oz of water. I actually went to the store and bought a bag of this. I can't believe this is a real thing
I'm having Russian style borsch. Beet soup with potatoes, onions and carrots in beef broth. Whatcha think?
Also a high protein snack is a great idea. My trainer recommends snacks be in the 200-300 calorie range though. And if that isnt quite enough I'll drink a glass of water and see if I'm still hungry after that. I dont gulp just drink at a regular pace to allow my body some time to process that a snack has been eaten.
Let us know how that works for you, NCBST. Are you just using it as a pitcher and pouring out of it manning up and gulping straight from the jug?
Katbur, I can throw back some beef jerky at alarming speeds, but I am a fan of softer bacon... I am worried that bacon jerky will be too close to the well done bacon that I am not terribly fond of. Please review it for us later!
During the week, I tend to eat multiple smaller meals, so snacks= small meals. But when I am going for a snack to hold me over- I definitely go for the protein rich snack. If I am looking for I'm bored/ watching TV/ etc. type snack, I go veggie or sometimes fruit based.

Last night I was having a Hungry Day. I ate about 12 spicy tuna rolls, then about a half cup of clam chowder. Totally 2 different things, but I inhaled all of it. I only feel "bad" about the chowder, as the tuna had no cream cheese in it (I actually detest cream cheese in sushi). Today Im on the salad train. and behind on my water intake again. DANG it.

Bacon jerky gets a hell yeah! It's not like jerky at all (which I'm not a big fan of). It's like cold slices of thick cut bacon waiting for you to eat them!!! The sodium is through the friggin roof though so I must set limits although it should help those of you who are having a hard time getting enough water.
Another way to up your water? Spicy food! I just had the urge to use a large amount of sambal as a salad dressing.. let's say my 4th bottle is going down QUITE quickly!

BTW, has anyone ever used Zaycon foods? I got an e-mail from a friend, boneless skinless chicken breast $1.79 a pound. The downside is you have to buy in lots of 40 pounds but I told you I was eating everything today.
Never heard of it. If you have the freezer space, I don't see why not. However, I usually buy most of my chicken on sale for 1.99/lb anyways, so it's not that much of a deal. If you don't get those sales and you have the space, why not?

I intend to eat a minimum of 4 bowls, with bread and there will be a meat dish of some sort and dessert. If I can fit more, I will then eat more bowls. Then I will slip slowly into a coma.

19 lbs to get to my Wanee goal. This is the most amount of weight I have ever lost dieting. Feels good to have progress.
Also, there is an avid runner in a business networking group I am a part of. We are supposed to go running when I can get to 3 miles. I've been doin 2 but taking a walk break after the first mile.
MapMyRun is a good free app that calculates calorie burn and route mileage, counts time for you etc. good stuff
