Odd...this is exactly what I had to tell Dave Maynar afterwards to console him...
And you guys, bonz is a total fox with her new hair. She was beforehand too, but yowzah!
EDIT: guess I should stay on the topic of the thread too...been hovering right around a comfortable 165 for months, which I'm happy with. Think I've found a decent balance.

Teeeechnically, it's not anything different... Just long overdue. And my hair dresser knows how to make my hair look good It might never look like that again! (But thanks! )
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
lost more than 60 lbs since last bonnaroo...nearly 80 total
Mike 5420 you the man! That's absolutely amazing. I know how much work it was to lose 40 lbs. I am very impressed. I am determined to stay fit and healthy and eat right now because I don't want to go down that road again. I am sure you don't either.
I just started going to the gym last week, guys. 'Roo isn't my ultimate motivation for getting in shape, but it does give me a short term goal to work towards. I have a hard time making myself work out if I don't have my super motivated, health nut best friend to drag me to the gym, so on the days that she isn't free you guys are going to have to be my super motivated, health nut best friends, mmkay?
You won't regret it! You need motivation log on and let us know. We got your back!
you can do it. Just keep your eyes on the prize and don't let the inevitable setbacks get you down. You got this!
good call on roo not being the ultimate motivation. I that were the case you might let off the gas after bonnaroo return to life as usual. Keep it up and stay healthy for those you love and for those who love you.

Then today is a good day to go and do something, even if it's just some light cardio for a while. Think how great you'll feel about doing it when you dont want to!
Preaching to the choir! I went out drinking last night, finally got to sleep at say 1, then got up at 7 and went to the gym by 8. I did not want to go to the gym but I have my routine, and once I get my gym shoes on and get in the car I fee like I have already done the hardest part and then just plow through the workout.
But you know your body and you know if you need to go or can skip. everybody misses a workout every once in a while. Don't worry about it either way.

Preach it! I couldn't agree more. The less I want to go the better I feel about having gone. When I am super tired and super sore and don't want togoi feel so much more satisfied than when I am fresh and eager to hit the gym.

Thank you, luvdatroo! You're awesome! I'm psyching myself up to go to the gym after work as I type this.

"So I "went off the diet" two weeks ago so I could indulge a bit for my son's birthday and then I had the damn leg injury so I couldn't exercise.
So I weighed in today for the first time in 2 weeks. The news is bad, really bad! I've gained back six pounds in two weeks half of what it took me six weeks to lose! Y'all my first kid weighed six pounds So it's back on the plan Monday and hope it works."
I did in fact go back to low carb Monday and weighed in today - 5 of the 6 pounds gained back are gone Same scale, same time of day etc. So what does that tell me gang? Seems to me that my body just needs to work low carb. Am I reading too much into this?

Dropping your carbs will naturally cause you to drop water weight. I dunno if that's universally true, but it has been for me, and I retain water like an SOB...if I go into ketosis after having been out a while, I'll drop any retained water all at once. Personally, low carb works for me AND I find it easy to stick with. So if it works for you, I say go for it!

There are so many things that go into weight. I would NEVER read too much into your weight. It's all about liking how you look/feel, and then trying to maintian that weight! Cutting out carbs and fats is going to work. Every time. If you drink soda, then start drinking water, you're going to lose weight. People who don't work out much really don't need that many carbs. The problem is we get addicted to them, and without realizing it's an addiction we cave in. Keep doing what you're doing and you're going to be very happy with the results! Keep it up!
I agree that carbs are an addiction. If tonight I decide to splurge and have pizza, I can almost guarantee you that I'll wake up craving a bagel. When I keep low-carb, my cravings are minimal.

This is the same as un-healthy food for me as well. I NEVER crave crapola like McDucks but, if I have it, I will crave it for like the next 3 days....
As an update just dodged the girl scout cookies and chips. Been in gym everyday this week! Keeping it rocking. 89 Days!
Fell yesterday afternoon while I was skateboarding with my daughter, think I strained my back or broke my ass or something..Needless to say, started lifting this morning and had to stop 3 exercises in. I'm going on vacation the end of next week so I think I'm just going to take it easy until this thing is better. I am not missing my cave tour with the kiddos because I'm old and stubborn! Diet will be key this week, maybe some light walking if things loosen up. For everyone that lifts, do a rep or two for me haha!
Found out today that I have: high cholesterol, low HDL and high LDL with a standing pulse of 100. I'm 25. So yeah, need to start getting fit. I've had 5 abdominal surgeries in the past 3 years and am seeing a surgeon next week to schedule the biggest one yet. That juxtaposed with my incredibly high stress levels (final semester of college) and self-hate due to chain smoking, I literally think I might fall apart soon.
Edit: Surprisingly I'm only 20 lbs overweight with all that being said

Good luck w the surgery. Keep us posted. You won't fall apart! You may need to start getting fit. My advice: start slowly changing some habits, smoke less exercise a little, change your diet slowly. Right now you probably don't need more stress.
