Killed my workout today, and after low carbing it since Monday I have already lost the vacation water weight! Tomorrow is leg day, my favorite of the week!
Hump day people! No rest for the wicked! Lets keep it up. June is almost here.
I took yesterday off, so back at it today! I haven't weighed myself recently, but this carb backloading seems to be working. Ive definitely gained some muscle size/strength, and noticed I'm considerably less sore the day after my workouts.

Nice! If you're working out heavy, don't forget to eat some carbs every once in a while! A cheat day will actually help you lose weight if you're using the carbs productively! My GF does this thing were she eats 30 carbs for 10 days, and on the 11th, cows out! But if you start feeling too weak, don't be afraid to eat some pasta or a potato! Intense workouts and low energy is usually a recipe for injury (trust me)!
I just started going to the gym on my lunch breaks and I'm trying to eat paleo but it seems like every day someone is bringing in cake and bread and bagels and my willpower dissolves as my boredom grows. How do office bums like me stay motivated?

When I'm not feeling motivated, I usually go online and try to educate myself on the benefits and just the overall science of working out. Sometimes I'll change up my plan or find something new to try (bodybuilding.com really does have a great set of plans). Also, the main pages of these plans usually have motivational videos by people who do this stuff for a living. Between all that, I usually don't have too much trouble. In the end, it comes down to will power. The best workout quote I've come across:
"Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can't." - Jerry Rice

Thanks... That site seems pretty good. And Looking at hard bodies is motivational for sure.

Thanks! I plan on doing something like what she is doing, 60 or less for 14, then upping it for a weekend. I usually carb cycle, eating low carb on lift days and upping on run days, but I've been doing way less intense cardio lately, so this is fitting in much better.
So I couldn't hit the gym this morning. Bummer right? No I just went after work. Now I usually work it in the morning 8-9:15 or so. Switching it up really took it out of me. I really want to go tomorrow morning but I just don't know how I will feel. I guess I can go after work again and get back on mornings next week.
Anybody that plans on going for run/jog while at Bonnaroo?
Yes. I'll be mid-training so I'll definitely shoot for at least one run. I wont be able to take 5 days off.
Same here, I plan on going probably just one day since I'm training for a 50k that happens in October..I figure it will be a good way to get out and see other campsites!
I would like to say yes I would join you for a jog. I am sure I could use a half hour jog at like 7 or 730 am, but I probably won't do it! maybe thursday morning I would do it. Maybe Friday too but no way on Saturday and Sunday getting back to the camp at 4 am. No way!

I'm thinking the same thing, I'm probably going to be going Friday morning for a jog because otherwise I will be way too wiped out from the night before....I'm gonna try and make the yoga one of the mornings.

I am definitely going to make the yoga session a couple of days.
I was thinking Friday morning too. I'm training for an October marathon so ill be just aiming to keep the legs checked in. If we all want to meet up ill be bringing a GPS watch so we can figure out how far the run is even with all the winding around.

I am finally getting my act together after a few months of chaos, and making time for the elliptical. I've also discovered juicing and having been experimenting daily with it. I've been replacing lunch or breakfast with juice. So far I've lost 4 lbs and now that the weather is nice, I am getting much more motivated I have about another 8-10 lbs to go, and I have 6 weeks before my vacation so I think I will be fine!

So it's going to be 80 tomorrow so I pulled out some lighter clothing and tried on a pair of size 6 pants and shirt i got for Christmas that was too tight, and they both fit - barely.... I am going to wear them tomorrow!! Also, I did 3 miles on the elliptical tonight

Bonnaroo is exercise but I like to find a chill spot and watch a couple of shows from there. I am not into rushing from stage to stage anymore unless absolutely necessary! A good run (I hope I can keep up w you guys) will do me good. Definitely need to stretch before a day at bonnaroo. I am so excited!

Signed up at a new gym that's right by my work. It's amazing. Way more equiptment, and 1/10th of the amount of people! I'm so sore from this past week, its' pretty great. I hope everyone else out there is finding ways to keep motivated! Just over 2 months away people!

I end up running after work a lot and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty terrible in the winter and mid-summer, but feels amazing this time of year! there is a great trail around the lake behind my house that I am loving right now, and it's awesome for decompressing and letting any work stress go so I can enjoy my evening. I do love morning workouts though, it's great getting the endorphins flowing and feeling pumped for the day. either way it's a win! (except with regard to my knees, who are most likely losing now that I have entered my 30's, but I just can't give it up)
How did it go this week people? I had to take Wednesday off to take care of some stiuff, but I finished out the week strong. I'm having a salad for lunch right now gonna finish with tilapia w salsa and pico! Good job everyone and keep up the good work!

I had a great week. I'm currently downing half a chicken as I type this. I weighed in 192 yesterday, which is my all time high (yay becuase I'm trying to bulk up haha). I'm guessing I'm somewhere in the 15 to 12 % bodyfat range right now too, so I'm doing pretty good. I'm taking today off because I had an insane leg/shoulders day yesterday and I need an extra day of rest to make sure I reap the benefits of yesterday. I always do this after leg days and back days.

Backpacking may be the best way to condition for what you're doing at Bonnaroo...because when backpacking you're walking all day and camping at night, just like at Roo.

Hopefully I'm not too wiped out from the night before for a run...once the schedule comes out I should have more of an idea if I will actually be able to get a run in...I think someone else in this thread said something about Bonnaroo being exercise, and I agree..I wouldn't be too bummed if I didn't get to run because to me all the Roo movement is almost like cross training.
Well, I upped the resistance 5 to 10 pounds on all my exercises today and upped the resistance on the eliptical too. I guess I plan to keep weight training till the beginning of June and then do straight cardio for the week and a half before roo. I really want to get a run in before the brunch at bonnaroo on friday or possibly thursday (we plan on arriving wednesday) might be even better cuz friday we have the brunch at 10/10:30 and i want to be fresh at least for the brunch. I know saturday and sunday i will be too worn out from the nights before to do anything other than yoga at solar. Can't wait for Bonnaroo.
