I'm up a pound from last week.. but I've had many a bad meal and was basically a borderline alcoholic.. so 'tis expected. Going out tonight for my roommate's birthday, so getting on the wagon is not happening today.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Down another half pound this morning. Woot! Very low carb works... Going to try for a second week if I can stand it, but that's it. I'm starting to get real sick of meat...
I do have a question for your fitness types who really watch your macros. Do you shoot for the old adage of 1g protein/lb of bodyweight/day? I never seem to hit that...I run about 75% of that. This is a special case couple weeks for me of course, with the VLCing. But when I go back to my maintenance diet I'd love to up the protein...how do you do it? Protein shakes? Chicken breasts? Cottage cheese? Or should I not worry about it?
If you're going low carbs i'd definitely try to hit 1g/lb. 1 scoop of protein with breakfast, one pwo. 50 grams right there, then you throw in your meat, nuts, dairy and you're there. Like I previously said, when going super low carbs I don't think you have to be as leery of your overall calories consumption. Bump it up just a little to get in that protein and some good fats.
Down two pounds this week. Wish it would move faster but whatcha gonna do. Down 13 since the beginning of the year and I think I can lose another 13 by the time Roo comes around. A drop in a big bucket but a start. Hubby has decided he wants to get on board so it should be easier even if it means some nights we have one meal for the kids and one for us.
Family vacation starts tomorrow. Today I went to the store and bought fresh fruit, sugar free jello, and my usual low-cal bread so we can do peanut butter sandwiches for filler meals. My back is doing much better, and there is plenty of walking involved in our planned activities, so I'm hoping I can at least maintain again this week. I am so glad that I will be able to get back to lifting at the beginning of April, it has been horrible just sitting around! Keep up the great work everybody!

Congrats 13 lbs is a lot! Keep it up. Getting hubby on the bandwagon should help for sure.
I know a lot of you aren't from wataburger ountry but the place is just wonderful unless you're trying to be healthy! I just had a patty melt and onion rings. I am so bad. Back on the wagon tomorrow! Good luck everyone! In the immortal words of public enemy fight the power.

Soooo... this weekend was pretty bad. I need to get my ish together this week. I'm currently reading about the negative effects of alcohol on your diet so that I stay dry this week.

Happy hump day everybody!
"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”

First ever Zumba class last night... I hate (loathe, despise) cardio, but I think I might actually love this! I had a smile on my face the whole class, and made it all the way through without stopping (I guess those kettlebell intervals have been working). If this don't burn some fat I dunno what will... or at the very least, maybe I won't be such a crappy dancer! Gonna shoot for 2 lifting/kettlebell sessions a week and 1-2 Zumba classes now til Roo (along with my 2 miles/day of walking) and see what that gets me.

Awesome! The key to cardio is to have fun! I play racquetball, and holy cow, 5 games of that will kill just about anybody.

If there's room a power tower, if not a door pull up bar and maybe a trx type rig for dips. I'd say one of those power towers is the best home gym one can have. Add a few resistance bands and I'd take it over any bowflex type machine all day. You could even go further and sub kettlebells for pulling barbell exercise and do heavy resistance cycling and plyo work for legs and never have to go to a gym again! KB swings, cleans, and turkish getups would be a sufficient substitute for deadlifts for most.
That all said, I think the actual routine of going to a gym makes things much easier initially.

I have a bowflex type of machine at my house, along with free weights up to 50 lbs. I'm gonna start going back to the gym starting next week, as my routine has gotten a little stale at home. I'm really having issues doing legs, triceps (the way I like at least), and back. I'm in a bulking phase right now, so I need to get to the gym and start throwing around more weight on a barbell.
I've been doing INSANITY now for almost 4 months now. I'm on my 2nd round, 2nd month. I def need to hit it hard before I come to the farm. I've actually lost 80 plus pounds in the last few years. My life is completely different now but I' m still a sucker for good food.

Dang southern home cooking.
Nice work!
Ok. I'm totally back on track. Fuckin Ohio winters. In have 3 lbs to drop to get down where I was. And then, onward.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Well, vacation wasn't as bad as I thought. My diet was all burgers, pizza, and frozen custard, but I only put on 3lbs...Could have been so much worse. Going to low carb it for April and get back to hitting the water. In a way, this may be what I needed to make some progress with my strength training, so I'm excited to get to it tomorrow!
I have decided to get back on my healthy diet! I lhave been putting on muscle so figured I didn't need to worry about whati eat so much and have been cheating more and more because I figure m metabolism is working much better. That's not the way to stay healthy. I got through today doing good, I got to keep it up, I know how to do it and I know I have the will power, now I just need to keep it up.

I don't have much to say or add. I basically started my diet/training program March 11th. I figured 3 months is enough for a boot camp so I'll see what I can do.
I just wanted you to know there's someone else in the struggle also. I'll try my best to encourage everyone else along the way and to give my final progress the week before.

There are tons of 12 week programs Rob. And it's less of a struggle the more you do it!
I have been... well.. not trying at all the past 2-3 weeks. Sigh. Maybe this week I can get back with it? My last two weigh ins were up .8 and up 1 and then I missed last week's. <Slapping self>
