They have them all over the US with 4 different levels of difficulty (3, 8, 12 and Death Race). They're not too expensive either. The GA race is a 3 mile event, and registration is $60-$100 depending on when you sign up.
I am interested. Have to see what is involved. The one in the UK is probably similar to the Death Race, since it involved frozen ropes, and jumping into thron bushes, etc.
Yeah, I know which one you're talking about. The Death Race is over a period of 24-48 hours and they add in some mental challenges as well. One example they gave was giving the runner a list of 10 Presidents then having them climb a hill/mountain. At the top, staff asked for the list. If they got it right, they kept going. If they got it wrong, they had to go back down to hear it again. They had to keep repeating it until they got the list right. I will probably never, ever be in good enough shape for that.

That just sounds not fun. 3 miles of physical torture I can do. 2 days of both mental and physical torture, and they should have everyone who signs up checked for an S&M fetish.

I knew about the Spartan Race, but I had never heard of the Death Race. You'd have to be insane to sign up for that. I'll stick with the Color Run, it's more my style.
All right kids, I'll go first. Last night I had two slices of deep dish Ginos pizza, a couple of cookies and a couple of glasses of wine. AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Someone I know is doing the Death Race. Yes, he's nuts. It costs over 3,000 bucks to sign up for too, I think! He was asking for donations on facebook a while back. He's already done the Spartan and other races.

4 glasses of wine, small salad, small margherita flatbread.. aaaaand movie theatre popcorn. Haha. But I DID get to the gym this morning! Almost didn't, but I did! Doesn't break even, but I'll roll with it. I wasn't even hungry for the popcorn, but I blame the wine and my friend who bought it!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

^ You ate THIS?!? TWO SLICES?!? Do you have any idea how much drool is on my keyboard right now?!? You are a mean, mean man, Chico.
'sOK. Last night I succumbed to the salty carb fairy's siren song & devoured some of these along with half a panini (mmm, grilled rosemary chicken w/Swiss cheese, spinach & avocado):
Driving home from Whole Foods w/the smells of the freshly grilled panini filling the car, I thought about this thread! I was like, "Well, at least I'm eating BAKED chips and only HALF a sandwich!" ;D
A healthier choice here, a smaller portion there...it balances the splurges. It's all good. But I would've rather had Gino's!

Abolutely killed Legs and Back yesterday, feel really sore today, but a good sore. I do alright with my eating when i workout that day. the problem i'm finding is if i don't work out i seem to substitute more food.... not good. Other than that i'm liking my results soo far, which is the point right?
Freaking want to work out tonight, but my rents are making me go to a Musical at this college i know a bunch of students at. I'm not upset about going just upset that i'm going from work straight to and don't have time to workout. Because i know like i stated above, not working out means i'll eat more plus i'll probably get a buzz going before the show, plus dinner after probably, not gonna be a good food day, i can tell.
Did you think about a walk or something in between work and the show? You can't compare it to really working out, but at least you are active... and not eating!

GINOOOOOOOOOS!!! I went there on my Man vs. Food Mission (MvFM) to visit as many places that Adam has been to that I can. It. Was. Delightful. And their bruschetta is insane. Well done Chico!!!
Last night, I went to a pub in my hood (http://www.brickstorepub.com/) and had a couple Bell's Oarsmans, 2 pirogies, and the turkey club with no bun, and FRENCH FRIEEEEEEES. God those fries were good. But I ALSO made it to the gym this morning, and got my ASSSSS KICKED. Im convinced that when it's just me and this other guy, my Trainer likes to make us HURT. Legs, Legs, and more Legs. Y'all my legs are as hard as granite. yessssssssssssss. And - continuing to lose - next wednesday is official weigh in, and Im pretty positive Im going to exceed my goal of 2 lbs/week. ;D

I'm coming from New York to Bonnaroo where is a place I can stop and beat a challenge?
In other news...down 8 lbs since starting in March. Going for a swim and a lift today.
On a side note, my gym plays the worst covers of good songs in the locker rooms. Today was a studio cover of Last Night. It made me run out of there. Worst part of being there is hearing them butcher good music.
I didnt go to workout this morning. I got a late start getting into bed last night, and was mega tired from the weekend anyway. BUT im on the food wagon Oatmeal, protein shakes, burners all done. and first nalgene of the day allllllmost there.

I think having a day that you can eat whatever you would like (within reason and not overindulge) is good for you. If you keep yourself from having a cheat day every now and then the more likely you are to stop dieting all together. I have noticed that going on three weeks of eating salad everyday for lunch actually doesn't bother me as much anymore and I have started to enjoy them more.
As far as progress, last night I upped the workouts. I now do 4.5 miles at the track and one P90X video at home per day. It's tough but man it feels good knowing I got through it without stroking out. Hope everyone's week has started out great so far.
I skipped my workout this AM too. Mostly because I have no power this weekend and I had no interest in stumbling around my dark apartment trying to get ready. The sun is not up when I go to the gym. I do have a super short shift at job two tonight. So depending on how short is short, I am going to try for my first outside run.

I have the opposite problem. When I work out, it's always first thing in the morning. On the days when I do it (I think I've only skipped three or four days in the last six weeks), I am much hungrier than usual, and tend to eat more/worse than I would otherwise (justified by the working out). Then I get irritated with myself because I've just nullified some of the benefits of working out. Grr.
I had a 48-hour allergy attack Sat/Sun, so no workouts over the weekend. I managed to get one in this morning, though, so I'm back on track.
Nice, Viking! Look on the bright side--at least you got all of your protein in?
I've been a habitual user of the MFP app for almost 2 years and its done wonders for keeping me on track and maintaining my weight. One thing I've noticed lately is that though I do a great job at keeping the fat, sodium and carb levels to a healthy level, I leap so far beyond the recommended sugar content every day. And if my limited knowledge of biochemistry serves me properly, depending on the type of sugars they are, they will reassign themselves into carbs and fat, if left unused. Pretty much defeats the purpose of keeping an eye on my fat and carb levels.
And its not like I gorge myself on twix and Reece's all day. (Though, I'll admit, I sit far closer to the client-welcome candy jar at work that I will treat myself once or twice a week.) But seriously, MFP has me set up on 25 grams a day, but I usually exceed by the time I'm done with breakfast, which is laughable, as all I normally have is coffee with 1 tbsp of the low fat flavored coffee creamer and a kid's size Greek yogurt. (Chiobani banana flavored is the jam) Those two items alone set me back 21 grams. Soooo, I'm pretty much screwed for the rest of the day.
Any solutions, other than working out more? Other than cutting out my beloved and very non-negotiable morning coffee?
Getting back on the fitness train tomorrow. Was a very bad person tonight. Fogo De chao. All you can eat meat. Very bad for a diet.
I've wanted to go back to Fogo De Chao soooooo badly. It's like Nirvana for men, just wish they had scantily clad females bring me my food with a Flagon full of mead on the side.
Anyway i've did Plyo last night, and freaking kicked its ass. I've decided i'm gonna do 4 weeks of phase 2 because i kind of screwed up last week and took almost every other day off. Also think i might start adding some cardio on the weight training days. Still fluctuating weight wise between 180-185, i really want that down to 170-175, however i'm liking how i look so far

I honestly wouldn't worry too much about the sugar as long as most of it is coming from vegetables and fruit. You're gonna have to eat a lot of calories from sugar before it has any real affect on your weight loss. It's already counted in your carbs, there's just the separate column to keep track of it.
My boss at my new job buys lunch for us every day. The only problem is that it's fast food, Monday thru Friday, every week. I had to turn her down today and tell her that I'll be bringing my own lunch. She seemed rather shocked that I don't eat fast food any more than once per week and that I actually cook most of my meals and include vegetables in all of them. It's gonna suck watching two people chowing down on Arby's and Wendy's everyday while I'm eating my healthier stuff. I can see myself sitting at a kiddie table with a french dip sub, large curly fries and two cups of cheese when pms strikes.

I feel the same way about the sugar. Especially after that 60 minutes on Sunday. I also use MFP and it tells me that i basically intake twice the recommend amount every day. I checked and most of my sugar comes from the fact that i eat two bananas a day. Along with everything else that adds up. I went to Trader Joes on my lunch break, and looked at everything i bought like cereal, almond milk, cottage cheese and saw some adjustments i can make that will save me about 20 grams a day without giving up on my 2 daily bananas.
Yogurt is just full full full of sugar! Full, and you should probably cut that out and replace it with low or fat free cottage cheese instead of cutting out the coffee. Or, you could not use creamer that has sugar. I actually stopped using cream all together, and drink it black most of the time. Some time ill splurge and add a half of a Splenda, no sugar. If you think about it, coffee was not meant for cream and sugar, its something that we've taken a norm that has to be added to the coffee. Basically it covers up the taste of the coffee between the cream and sugar. Coffee tastes so good without it in my opinion.
WELLLLL, weigh in was today at bootcamp. And i juuuuuuust missed the "2 lb/week" goal that I've set for myself. Im still pretty happy with it though bc I DID lose, and the inches keep coming. Also, I spent this weekend in hostess-mode, to include eating out, carbs after noon, and many brews... then monday and tuesday were straight carb fests (and i drank a coke last night! First in a long long long time...). So I think I may have sabotaged the "official" weigh in this morning, but I'm still okay with it!
Sugars: I also hit the "alloted" sugar amount right after breakfast. But like krunchykat, I just consider them "carbs" and stay away from them after the morning time. Like that article from chico was saying - best time for carbs is immediately after workout, or first thing in the morning. So I try to get it all in first hour that I get to work. Then after that Im sticking to meats and veggies for the rest of the day. Also - BEER. That poop is so full of sugar its insane. I mean, getting bubbles into beer is all due to the priming sugars from the bottling process. Nothing but sugars. Some brews even require a teaspoon of sugar per bottle to get the carbonation to form. It pains me to say, esp since cider is my kryptonite, and cider def has more sugar in it than most 'beers.'
How's everyone doing with workouts after the Monday slump??
