I plan on cooking on one of these. It's got a fold out skillet so I'll be making some pork-roll (mmm...gotta love NJ) egg and cheese sandwiches in the morning
...on a kaiser bun???
Some kaiser rolls would be great. Probably end up with hamburger buns knowing how my friends and I roll.

I actually had no idea such a thing existed outside of the ween song--but I am officially intrigued. I hope I'm one of the lucky neighbors that gets to share!!

Going to try to get my chef on this year. Nothing crazy, just breakfast food. Bringing a camping stove, a griddle, eggs, cheese, and some pancake mix in a bottle.
I want to get a good meal in this year before I start each day. I'm hoping that this will give me more energy to make it through the afternoons, where I usually am taking quite a few bonnanaps.
Are there any tips out there for the easiest way to clean up your cookware?

Haha, I didn't even know it was a song. If you're one of my neighbors you can definitely have one. It's also delicious on top of a cheeseburger instead of bacon. It is NOT anything like Canadian Bacon despite it being round.

oh man i can't wait for summer... b.l.t.s with tomatoes that actually have flavor
I never did understand this. I lived in NJ for 15 years and found the tomatoes to be absolutely flavorless. Now give me a good Creole tomato from New Orleans...

Oh - it does not even have to be that far South for flavor - a big juicy Mississippi tomato!
And why bother with the bacon - if the tomato is good - all you need is bread and a little mayo - salt and pepper and it is all good!
Meg, you need to try the Creoles, especially those from St. Bernard Parish. I don't even eat tomatoes, but in early summer I have someone bring some up along with a loaf of Bunny Bread and some Blue Plate mayonnaise, then it's tomato sandwiches for days!

oh yum - see you understand - Bunny bread and Blue Plate mayo
LOL - I think those will be making the trip to 'roo with us. I'll have to check on connection in LA about the Creole tomatoes
HAHAHA. I do. My friend gave my fiance a case of Blue Plate for Christmas a few years ago. And I really miss the squishy white gooeyness that is Bunny Bread!

haha sayerville is central? I never know what is considered central actually. If its south of me...its south!
And 40's and reggaeton...hey, im guilty!
Hell yea it's Central.... 732 .....i think pretty much anything south of 732 is considered South Jersey IMO....
I'd go with that one. 609 and 856 are all S. Jersey and the Shore in my book. I feel I'm in central once I start getting up near the Hamilton and Trenton area.
Bringing enough to share is the key for festival food. The guys I went with last year had a whole case of those frozen hamburgers. At em 2 meals a day, filling and cheap. We ran out of buns at one point though which was a bummer. The greatest thing was we threw one on for our buddy who was sleeping, and like 30 minutes later, I was like, hey, did anyone check on that burger for Morrow? and we look and the thing is charred, and it was just as he was getting up. He looks at it, shrugs, and puts it on a bun and eats it. It had to have been straight up burnt and dry, but he didn't complain.
At Rothbury last year we were camped to the most prepared festies I've ever seen. They had all sorts of fresh meat, a huge two burner stove with a griddle on top. They cooked up some pulled pork fajitas with fresh arugala sprouts the first day. It was amazing, and I think they cooked half of what I ate at the festival. Sunday they had this 5lb box of Bisquick and were just making gigantic pancakes with walnuts and blueberrys and walking around from camp to camp nearby giving them out, the people would come over, chill with them and eat for a few minutes and then go back to their camp. So much fun.
Ok I'm confused,I thought I read that you can't bring in propane?? This would come in handy since we are planning on cooking a lot. I thought spaghetti would be good and easy one night and with 2 huge pots I could make enough to feed an army,or at least my neighbors!
