Haha, my boyfriend always goes with a big co-ed group, and so it shouldn't be too bad, but going with just girls... eh.. Idk. You're alright the first day and then you start bein snippy. That's just what I've experienced. This will be my first time going anywhere with a boyfriend, and my first time going to Bonnaroo, and I'm hoping it will be the best time of my life... even if there are other people with us... The more the marrier...I think that's how you spell that. haha
last year was my first bonnaroo. i've been to ACL four years, so i thought i'd be prepared. boy was i wrong. hahah. my mom told me before i went, "there are two kinds of people in this world, elizabeth. hotel people and camping people. you are a hotel person.". she is basically right.
BUT i found this site months before bonnaroo and it helped soooooooo much. i knew that i would have a much, much better time if i was prepared. air mattress, tent fans, right clothing, etc. my main mistake was overendulging in party favors on a mainly empty stomach thursday night, but then when the sun went down it was like i was a battery stuck in to recharge.
all, in all. i would say just make her be prepared and she'll have a much better time overall.

Yeah, that's all you gotta do. Just prepare her, and don't go throwin her into it with no clue. I'd rather be informed then not know what I'm in for, you know?

My ex gf let me go with 2 girls last year that she;s only met a couple times... it's about trust. I'd give it to her too if I knew they were good people looking for a fun time (not sexual)

Trust, we know. My boyfriend has girls in his group that he's gonna meet up with, but I don't care, cause at the end of the day, his boots are under my bed.

My fiance is going with me to Roo this year, and i've told her just to have a good time and try not to dwell on the negative aspects of the festival. Though I am using Wakarusa as a way to get her ready for Bonnaroo, I did that for myself in 06 and it worked out great. Also i proposed to her at waka at the chompdown so we have to go back!
pre-bonnaroo season is the no boys season for me... I wouldn't want to have to tell someone I will not be with them at roo, i'd rather spend roo with my crew

Yeah, we need to get together there. We're gonna have a giant crew this year.. Dude, once I get my phone turned back on, I'll get your number and so we can find each other at Bonnaroo. That'd be awesome. I need a buddy

I think the most important thing is to get her to embrace the hippy lifestyle. I don't like camping, don't like being uncomfortable or sweating excessively, but my sister and brother-in-law were definitely going in 2007 and I knew if I missed it, I'd be very sad. So I just worked really hard at mentally prepared myself and I had the BEST time.
And I read Inforoo obsessively and made lots of lists and charts so I was the right equipment and clothes as well. But the mental thing was much more important.

I am def a nocturnal, stay inside and eat corn all night kinda girl. My skin is translucent because it never sees the sun because I hate the sun. yes, it's true. I would be perfectly happy if that big ball of gas burnt out tomorrow and I was one of the only living creatures left. lol
but I this will be my 6th year at roo. sometimes we have to make sacrafices and being hot is just one of them.
my advice to your girlfriend: read the boards, stay positive, and suck it up. It will def be the time of her life, no doubt.
haha "where ever you are is where you're supposed to be" (at bonnaroo) is probably the truest thing I've heard today. Although I did get lost last year I got a little disorientated and spent 2 hours aimlessly wandering around the camp grounds with my friends because we couldn't remember where we camped. We found out the next morning when we were sober we were like a block or two away the whole time, but its all good cause we had a rediculously good time just walking around the camp grounds till the sun came up.
As for my girlfreind I've gotten her introduced to to inforoo! we got her a freind to go with us, and I took her out to dinner and we had a good convo about what to expect from bonnaroo and myself. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?!
^^obviously you havenever been in a relationship with a woman
lol
I have, and that's why I like the penis better. Haha. It's owner doesn't bitch at me constantly. Haha... Just a thought. I'm a bit loopy right now, if you get my drift, so I'm sayin funny things that make no sense.

My advice is to lend your own ear to hear her decompress at times... there will be a certain amount of stress that she will be experiencing being her first time at 'Roo(even after all the planning in the world). I would offer her before the trip that if she needs to talk about what she is going through that she can pull you aside and let loose. Seriously, it will help to talk it through so she can laugh about it. Don't brush it off, but tell her it's okay that she's been sweating for hours and days walking are not treating her feet well. A little verbal compassion goes a long way. Then offer her a beer to get through the night a little better.
I am female, and that's the best I can think of to help her settle in. You may miss out on stuff, but that happens every year, doesn't it!
