I don't belong here... But I just felt like throwing my two cents in by saying I was shocked at the age groups I saw at Roo this year. I was expecting a bunch of 21 yr olds in RVs ready to party. I'd say the average Rooer is probably between 30-40 from what I saw. Maybe late 20s.
Anywho, that is all. I'll go back to my youngster activities
Hey I'm 34 but will be 35 for this years bonnaroo but when my nieces and nephews started going to bonnaroo I realized that I'm not the same kid that used to live for Phish tour.
I don't think 35 is old either or 45 (in my case). I guess I thought if I contributed to some of the other threads I would be thought of as an old creepy guy. My mistake this seems to be a very open inclusive group. I am soooo pumped on going this year. I was hoping for a laid back event like Stevie Nicks show at Red Rocks last year. It was wonderful and I had forgotten how great a full moon on a summers night and great people, and music could be. Cheers to you folks!! Allen
I think alot of my feeling old is having a 16 yo daughter and a 19 yo son. The only rules she has given to me is if I'm going to get naked and dance she don't want to be there. That is a totaly reasonable request I think. LOL The funny thing is they listen to my tunes and now share theres with me. Mutual respect for each others taste that is cool. I think that this is one of the most wonderful musical times in the last 20 years. I'm enjoying them getting older and that they are beginning to realize I'm a real person with faults and that I don't judge them and expect the same.

I have a 14 year old and have to say - she is the same way as far as the rules
she jams on the music we like and I listen to and actually like alot of hers
Welll, I dunno about being a hippie but I am over 35 by a few (cough ahem) years.
Funny story...so we are on our way to Manchester about 1030 pm and we get pulled over (of course...who didn't get hassled by the cops in TN!) with the lame ass excuse that our pop up trailer crossed the white line.
The "officers" are a couple of undercover narcs in beer T-shirts with their badges (we don't need no stinkin' badges) hanging around their necks on a chain. We have Elvis on the sirius and when the cops looked in the window all they saw were some "middle-aged" ladies going camping.
We played dumb...I kept saying ..." I heard on Oprah (which i never watch!) about fake police officers pulling over people in the dark of night.....HOw do we really know you are officers...I still don't believe you... etc."
The narc pulls out his wallet to show me his ID and even goes back to his car for a business card..but I just played middle-aged dumb...
It can be really advantageous to be older! Security never suspects the power of the mom-aged partier!

Almost 39 here. Even with 40 looming, I can't complain too much yet. I was too naive in my teens and too inexperienced in my 20s. It wasn't until my 30s that knowledge and wisdom finally met at the crossroads..

crap - you just reminded me that I will be 39 eight days before you - so technically - I am older then you are - bahhhhh
Hell, yall just kids! Fifty-one and heading for Roo #5. It ain't age, it's attitude. Besides hanging out with a younger crowd puts life in prospective. Lot to said for been there, done that, let's do it all over again! Except for the puking after drinking hard liquor in the mid-day heat part, then we just point and laugh...

Yeah most of us know how to moderate our consumption better than the young ones.
