I was just curious to know what the Wal-Mart scene was like on Wednesday night. Do people actualyl set up their tents or just sleep in cars? Any and all info would be great. Thanks

PACKED! I stopped by because I forgot a pillow and figured I might seem some people there. Yea some people. Every space was taken by Rooers. I saw tents set up with canopys. It reminded me of a tailgate party without the football and drinking. There were uniformed police walking 5 or 6 deep to keep the peace.

last year, they let people into the venue at 6 pm on wednesday night.
we left MA on monday night at midnight. we got to manchester at 6 or 7 on tuesday. we were gonna sleep at wal mart but got a cheap hotel right across the street. there were a few people at wal-mart maybe 15-20 max. when we woke up wednesday and walked over to wal-mart there were probably 50 people or so there. we hung out there all day wednesday and by the time we left there were a few hundred people. once we heard they were letting people in at 6, we packed up and headed out. the only problem was that we ended up in the way back lot. (BFE)
this year i will not be going in early... i hope this helps bro

I gotta tell ya, Wednesday night at roo can be fun if you can handle an extra night of partying.... you WILL be in bfe, but if say you want to move to tent only anyway it doesnt matter much.
Just to warn you, once you're in BFE they wont let you out until 7-9am(basically when they feel like it) to go to tent only.
The last time I went to roo in 07 (also my first ) We left real early, like 3-4 AM from the mid-Michigan area. we stopped often along on the way and got food and to stretch our legs.
We got to Wal-Mart at like 6 PM the night before roo was supposed to open (we planned on camping there for the night). Needless to say Wal-Mart was ri-fucking-diclious. I have never seen so many people at 1 Wal-Mart in my life. There wasnt even that many people in the store, everyone was outside.
The entire parking lot was debunked. It was basically impossible for any "real" customer from the area to get into the parking lot. I was parked 2 cars away from the Preacher that tried to convert everyone into Christanity while we waited for roo. The Preacher was standing ontop of his car shouting for everyone to stop drinking/smoking/etc... He did gather a large crowd but it was broken up quickly once the cops cleared everyone out and roo opened earlier then in previous years. Roo opened by maybe 9-10 PM that night.
Was great though. Everyone we talked to was alot of fun, I plan on being there this year ;D
done the walmart the last two years, its a nice resting spot before going in. Although we usually drink up and feel good before taking a nap and into roo we go. RV put us right by the entrance to roo it was no more than a 10 minute walk.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
We're gonna be doin' the Wal-Mart bit this year. Driving from 12-3-ish to get into 'Roo has really taken a toll on us the past two years. We want to try and get a bit more between the drive and the 'Rooing.

Last year we arrived at Wal-Mart about mid afternoon on Wednesday after visiting Jack Daniels and eating lunch at Mary Bobo's.
We set up our shade tent in the spot next to our van and just hung out and enjoyed the scene. There were a ton of people just hanging out and Wal-Mart even had a stage set up and some bands playing later in the afternoon and into the evening.
After dark it started getting a bit shady as some locals started showing up and causing problems. We even saw a couple of fights break out. The local police had already come by and informed everyone that the Roo gates were now open so at that point we decided to move on and camp out for the night at the VIP check-in location.

I dont get it, just because you park in wally world doesnt mean you have to try and enter Roo early to get into BFE, if you are sleeping in your car till the next morning (thursday) And go into Roo on Thursday why would you automatically go to BFE?? doens't make sense to me... not that i even care. but im reading some of your posts and i just dont get it... help
^^^the earlier you go in - the more likely it is that you will be put in BFE - they fill from back to front (most of the time) so if you are first in line - you will be put furthest out
it's all a crap shoot. we didn't get there until about 6pm thursday last year and we were in BFE. don't believe the hype. the walk isn't that bad, unless you are wearing your shoes backwards and a mafioso came to collect a debt and you couldn't pay him and he broke your knee caps...

Goofyone, that girl with the ponytails on the right in the second to last picture, was her name firefly? she looks like a girl that I met at walmart last year.

I think you are correct, I do remember her name being firefly. We met most of those people in the parking lot and hung out.
My group is in the top pic minus my sister, JustSoYouKnow, who is the one who took the pic. I am the one in the center, texting.

Yeah, in the first picture you can see the net in the back... well that was actually our ez-up in the parking spot next to the big van that we sat in most of the night with coolers out and beer and all. Oh yeah, guy on the left is sitting on the cooler.
The trampoline wasn't at walmart is was actually at the VIP check-in that night.

Wal*Mart 2007 was outstanding. All of my friends couldn't believe what I had subjected them too. I couldn't either, since I came a day late and alone to Bonnaroo 2006. Drum circles were everywhere, with beer pong and free red bulls everywhere else! Needless to say, it is a night that will live in infamy.
My friends did the Wal-Mart gig last year, totally unexpectedly, and they were total wrecks on Thursday. They rallied pretty huge, which was awesome, but they were totally out of it all day on Thursday while some of the rest of us were off exploring. If I weren't doing pre-fest I would totally go to Wally world for Wed. night.
