I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

hey hey kids...
This will be ma 4th BONNAROO...do the road trip from Manchester NH everytime, and everytime with a car load of NEW friends, onacounta ma friends have no ADVENTURE left in their souls...
Anyways...Just wanted to say...the big caravan thing from New England is WAAAAAAAAY hard to get together...takes alot of coordination and effort on the part of each carload. People almost NEVER seem to be able to be ready for the scheduled lift off time, which rolls downhill for every other group you are to meet with...Blink your eye, and someone has taken a wrong exit, etc. Then, it can be pretty crazy trying to reunite on the highway...
I've done it. Last year, I managed to rope 5 cars & 17 people from New England together before going thru the gate, and it paid off because we had THE BEST site ever...great crew!! And I am absolutely planning on putting an even BIGGER crew together THIS YEAR. I'm pretty good at this!! LOL I'm also pretty tight with a great family in Tennessee who we seem to be camp neighbors with every year (out of 80,000 freaks & zombies? Destiny?), and am hoping to hook up with them this year as well...
From Manchester NH/Boston MA area, it can be anywhere from 18 to 20 hours...then figure in a couple more hours for gas and food stops along the way....We leave early afternoon Tuesday...arrive mid afternoon on Wednesday (contrary to popular belief, they DO start letting people in Wednesday night...about 7PMish).
And yeah...the first people to roll in are parked a ways off from CENTEROO...but not the WORST camp spot by any means...so...the trade off can be: Get there on Thursday and wait FOREVER in your car to get thru the gate and keep your fingers crossed that you STILL don't get a crummy camp spot...or get there on Wednesday thru the gate right away, get a so-so camp site...set up before the sun goes down, party a bit, get to know the neighbors some, get a good night sleep...and wake up relatively ready to do some SERIOUS partying on the first TRUE day of the festival...
I have a huge jumbo 20X30 tarp/BIG TOP, portable shower, toilet, tons of gear...and looking for anyone who might need a ride to hop in with me and share costs...so...if anyone is interested in a ride OR putting together a CAPTAIN KICK ASS convoy of YANKS...lemme know...catch up soon!!
i will be at the Executive Inn in Tullahoma on wed night.
that's where the party is!
Have you stayed at this hotel before? If so, how long is it to the farm? I have some friends coming in from SC who might meet me at the hotel in the morning so we can all head in together, and I am trying to figure out a timeline...
Also, what route do you take, and what entrance does it take you to? I know you go VIP so you might not know

ohhh, this thread makes me miss boston so much! but it's nice to know that my home state is representing a nice roo convoy. see you on the farm, folks.
MY crewe is leaving from Umass worcester at about 5:30 pM on Wednesday evening, I hope we can get through the gates by 5:30 pm on Thursday. Is this really late to get an okay camping spot? Not too worried though, gonna be at Bonaroooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Anybody else from the area leaving later like us? We have no choice, we have a stupid mandatory grad school writing class.
Anyone else in this thread dreading the weather forecast for our ride down 81?!?! Ohhh man I sure hope it's not as bad as it looks! Rain... Followed by Thunderstorms! Hurray......

If you wanted a way to get around nyc so you don't have to worry about the traffic would be to take the mass pike to Rt. 84 to Rt. 81 it will bring you the truckers routes and it takes a lil longer but the only toll you pay is the Mass Pike one the way there and theres one other that you only have to pay on the way back. It's pretty scenic and simple. It brings you straight into TN to meet up with the loop that you have at the end of your. The main difference is this route brings you above nyc so you don't have to worry about being stuck in traffic. Either way have a great Roo. I'll be leaving from 40 minutes north of boston off 495 Tuesday afternoon. But there's only two people that can drive the rental so we stop along the way if needed.
if anyone is looking for a ride from ma or southern nh i have a ton of room in my car. i'm a 27m. i'm going down with friends 3 other guys and a girl. four of them are riding in another car and i have no one in my car. all that is needed on your end is gas money and possibly driving a little bit. i drove the whole way last year so i'm not too worried about the driving end of it.

I have a group of at least 6+ people going down for this year, We are all around central NH, I will keep you in mind depending on how the ride situations work out!

Best place to meet is Walmart the night before. Too many cars in a convoy is too stressful. Go at your own pace just be at Walmart by the deadline... works like a charm. We may have lost a lot of our group but just more of a reason to meet new friends.
Last year we left from my house in CT Tuesday afternoon and got to Walmart to stock up and settle in before getting in line Wednesday night. I think we'll be doing the same just because there's no rush to get anywhere by any time.
I bought my ticket for roo. Thinking about going to mountain jam Jun 3-5th, and then heading down to TN. The guy I went to roo with last year is doing a cross country tour or something this summer, and I doubt I know anyone who's up for this sort of journey. Maybe a fellow Masshole/Rooer is taking the same route? Let me know - Thanx
