I think Townspeople should definitely ante up a story before the game begins.

That why I think the Referee should have more death stories than needed - to pick & choose the best ones for use in the game.
A caveat: you can't ask every Townsperson for death stories, and give credit for them while the game is in progress - roles would be revealed.

You and Tara were BOTH Mafia and BOTH voted for each other in Day One? I'm curious as to why.
As you know, my theory was more of an "either/or" than a "both/and." That move threw me off.
That was our whole plan. We had intended on voting for one another and leaving it that way to throw everyone off. No one would suspect us working together if we voted for one another. Instead, it completely backfired because the Inspector game out and said Tara's name. If that move had never happened, we would have had a much better chance.
