if there was no conflict Id sit in the back and dig on some 311. I'll pass on Incubus tho unless they dont bring their singer then i might check them out. TimeLapse all the way
Naw, it'd bring to many bro's and bra's to Roo, even more then Jack Johnson and DMB brings. Thats one of my least fav things about Roo 07, too many "meathead" bungholes at the Tool show! Bad vibes, dig?
Whats that one thing thing we're generally supposed to promote?
Oh yeah, tolerance of others.
karma to that!
I think 311 would be cool at Roo, I would like the idea of sitting in the back chillen out too. It would be a good afternoon early evening show like Deathcab this year.
311 was at langerado, and i didnt notice any diff, not to mention some of the headiest ppl i know have loved/do love 311.
311 certainly draws an odd, and diversified, crowd.
I'm definitly for 311 being at Bonnaroo. I saw them this past summer and they put on an awesome show. I agree that there is a pretty diverse fan base. No one band is going to bring a crowd of 'insert negative word' people to a huge festival like Bonnaroo. Those kind of people aren't going to pay the money for Bonnaroo just to see one band play there. Just like the Metallica thing, all the 'angry metal heads,' as people like to call them, aren't going to come to Bonnaroo just to watch Metallica. So I don't bleieve in one band bringing a certain type of crowd.....It's Bonnaroo bringing the crowd.

In all fairness I know several people who went for Metallica only. They enjoyed the party, and I even introduced them to some new tunes, but they were there for Metallica. They were friendly metal heads though not angry ones .

i would LOVE 311 at the roo! This'll be year 4 for me and i wanna go big!! Incubus i wouldn't like as much cause of the direction they've gone BUT....the unreleased songs from this last album are SOOOOO good! All of em are crazy stuff like from S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Enjoy Incubus and Fungus Amongus!!
I think both 311 & Incubus would be totally awesome there. I wasn't a part of Inforoo before this year's Bonnaroo, so I can't say anything about how you guys thought about Death Cab For Cutie.
A couple of my friends don't like them and rag on them for their style of music, but when I saw them, they made my top 10 for the 'Roo. I have'nt seen a live Incubus show, but I have been a fan for a while. I think they would put on an awesome show
I don't care for 311, so of course, I wouldn't want them to be on the bill. I'm not going to be offended if someone else likes them and wants them there though.
But why the hell does Incubus keep getting brought up in threads like this? They're on hiatus anyway, so can we have a year without Incubus should play Bonnaroo talk hijacking every other "____ should play Roo" thread? PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE.
i really just wanted to post on this to bring it back up to the top of the page so more people would see it because 311 should definatly finnaly come to roo

I have seen both live as well...311 last year with Matisyahu...liked 311 before but went for Matis and both were AWESOME! danced my booty off...saw Incubus back in the day like 7 years ago and they were really good too. I do love the old shiz from them....would love to see 311 in an afternoon spot on the what stage...and incubus late night in a tent...but thats just me man.
I didn't think they had any plans for this year. 311.com says they're having a new album and tour out for '09 as well. Might be a last minute shot in the dark, but I'm still holding out some hope for 311!
I could see some 311 and Matisyahu going down on the farm, I'd be there for sure. I am a bit surprised at the amount of 'eh, whatever's' too haha. I think 311 would attract an eclectic crowd that is very fitting for 'Roo, but eh, everyone thinks differently

Well...311 was the first band i went to see in concert...ive seen them 6 or 7 times, and they always put on a great show. I think their last couple albums have pretty much sucked, but if listen to From Chaos on backwards, they are a pretty damn good band. They always bring it live, and they would be a good addition...although, depending on conflicts, i dont know if id make it to their show, since ive seen them before.
and i wouldnt really say they "try" to be anything...they have many different influences and have experimented with many different sounds from hard(er) rock, to reggae, to hip hop, and crazy infusions of these and others. i believe the clash is their biggest influence. you might not choose to see them if they were there, but theyd definitely put on a good show

I'd be down for them to be added for the sole reason it would create one less conflict. I'm down with 311, I've seen them several times, but that's one band I would skip in a heartbeat.
Saw 311 last summer in Cbus (bro's and bra's exclusively). I was there to see Snoop...who did it right. 311 put on a good show that got the crowd rolling. I call it "Cracker Jack Hip Hop." Many "really" drunk girls and boys doing stupid things, way more so than any concert I've seen at the LC (been to almost 50). Gf and I decided to split early to avoid the impending CPD action...they were quietly assembling to break heads and take names after the show.
My 2 cents.
So if 311 is on the farm, will find a more satisfying alternative.

I love 311 but the last couple of their shows i have seen have been the same show with the same drum circle they do everytime. I think they rock, they need to change some stuff up in their live show.

I've always said this -- 311 would be perfect for 'roo. They've got the vibes, the tunes, and the versatility. They love to jam out on stage and rock with special guests....They could throw out a nice easy set on Sunday afternoon, or destroy a tent late night with a sick light show.
