Just added you, Ross. Glad to hear my plan for departing makes sense to someone else too! All my plans are being made from what I read here on Inforoo so I have my fingers crossed that they work out.
I got a ride down Wednesday morning, but unfortunately I don't have a ride back. I gotta work Monday morning, so I'm looking for a carpool to hitch with sometime Sunday afternoon/night to Columbus area. Obviously, I can pitch in for gas!

Looks like I will probably have room for one person (or two without a lot of crap) if anyone needs a ride from Kent/Akron/etc. I will be meeting a group from Columbus and elsewhere when we get to the farm, but I will probably be driving down by myself. If you need a ride, can chip in for a tank or two of gas, and maybe drive a bit if you want to (not necessary), let me know. We'll have shade and tent space to spare, and people to party with, if wanted. We're easy-going people who love music and want to have a good time.
Leaving Portage County Wednesday morning, in hopes of being in and set up by Wednesday night. PM me if interested, and I'll be checking in here daily until Tuesday. Or if you have a group of 3 that need transportation and don't mind chipping in, I might even be down with renting a van or something.
Hey all, First time on the thread, just found out I might be needing a ride from Cincy. I can leave wed night around 7 or 8pm. Kinda have to work Monday afternoon, so it be nice to be back around 3pm, but not a big deal if thats not possible.
Other than the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, what else is there to do in Cleveland?
Science Museum, Beachland Ballroom and Tavern, some killer record stores, Grog shop, West Side Market (A MUST), Little Italy, Great Lakes Brewing Co., the art museum, Cedar Lee theater, Cinematheque, the aquarium.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
My friends and I set up a Groop Campsite with several people from the Columbus area and others from Washington, D.C., Ontario and elsewhere for Roo this year!
We need a few more able-bodied, like-minded, kind-hearted, and good-spirited peeps to share our campsite with! The requirements are listed below:
1. Be from either the Columbus, OH or Washington, D.C. area (or somewhere along the way to carpool with) 2. Love music 3. Have a festival ticket or plan on buying one within the next week. 4. Be ready to party hard every night! 5. Be willing to pay the $35 fee to camp in the groop camping area with the rest of our awesome camping groop. 6. Love festivals, dancing, music and everything else that comes along with that. 7. Be ready to party!
If you're interested reply or message me and I can send you the deets!

You might want to start another thread or check others for people in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Madison, etc. Surely there are people coming from or through Chicago.
Due to the way geography works you are unlikely to find a ride from Chicago in this thread. Unless you are willing to do a lot more than split gas money anyway.
Looks like I'm going solo due to my regular group not being able to make it this year. As a result, I may have room for 1-2 people (without too much stuff - not that big of a car). I'll be leaving from the Akron area early Wednesday and be passing through Columbus and Cinci, then returning on Monday. I have a good car, I shower, don't like hard druqks, will not pick up Steelers fans, and will not listen to Justin Bieber.
Hey all, I need to be back for work on Monday but don't want to leave on Sunday till at least 8pm bc there are so many good shows on Sunday! If anyone is heading back to Columbus late Sunday and could squeeze one more I'm a little lady and would totally throw down for gas! Thanks!
Sorry, I have no carpool spots open since I have kids to drop off at Grandma's in Pigeon Forge, but just wanted to say hey. I live just south of Dayton in Springboro and go to a lot of shows in Cincy and Columbus so hit me up if you ever want to go to a show that your friends don't! My friends have narrow minds when it comes to music so i'm usually going solo and would love to meet new people with similar music tastes!
I will know more by next week on a potential meet up. I'm going to the Nelsonville Fest for Wilco, but only if it's nice and not a muddy mess down there. I don't want to get beaten down and sick before 'roo.

If you're going to Nelsonville make sure to check out Gogol Bordello. It'll be a good time for sure! I would love to go but we're unable to go.

Is anyone in here leaving on Tuesday morning? I'm trying to get to Manchester to stay in the Comfort Inn the night before and having trouble finding people who are going early. I'm in Louisville, so I know that depending on where you're coming from in Ohio, you'll pass by.
Any Columbus area peeps interested in a pre-ROO gathering/meet-up??
If so, how does Friday, May 31st at Meister's Bar (1168 Chambers Rd. Columbus, OH 43212) sound??
The location of the shindig is just a suggestion.
Let me know!!
sorry for the lateish response, but i would be down for a pre-roo meetup. that day doesn't work for me though, as i will be at nelsonville! maybe a different day next week?

I always leave real early Wednesday and stay at a private campground just north of Manchester. I love getting there early and getting a little acclimated. That way I'm not feeling rushed on Thursday when I head into 'roo.

And yes, I'm flying down solo tonight, after work, just to check out Eugene and Co. My wife isn't coming until tomorrow, but I can't pass up a chance to see them.
How hilly is the ride from Ohio to 'Roo? Debating whether my 4-cylinder SUV will pull a small pop-up camper through the hills of Kentucky, or whether I should take my dad up on his generous offer of borrowing his gigantic 4x4 pickup.
There are quite a few hills, none that are very steep from what I remember, cause you're not actually going through the Appalachians. You would probably be alright with the SUV.
