I chatted up a guy Saturday night at the Tame Impala show at the LC in Columbus who was wearing a Bonnaroo shirt. If it was somebody on here, I apologize for the Chatty Cathy routine. I was in a pretty talkative mood.

Longtime lurker and Cincinnatian checking in. I'll be at that Stones show, just moved my tickets down to B-deck. First time seeing them, and I can't wait.
Summerfest (@ the LC in Columbus) line up comes out today at 5:30pm. My friend who says he knows a guy said Cake & Weezer are HL. I think that's a pretty big jump from Ok! Go & Manchester Orchestra, but I guess we shall see. He said he was right about those 2 last year...
Anyways. I'm hoping I get to be a hired hooper again this year and go for free. It's just a one day thing, so I see no point in making its own thread. I'm assuming tickets go on sale Friday for it.. Fingers crossed he's right.

How was it? I couldn't go because of work and the only person I knew going had to bail at the last minute. I really enjoyed them at SK even though I was only half paying attention.
Wow. That would be a step up from last year. A welcome step up. I've been to a bunch of those, being a CD102.5 fan. As for Tame Impala, they were incredible. IMO they're getting better and better. Mini Mansions, whose headed by the bassist from Queens of the Stone Age, Michael Shuman, was a great opener. I also got to meet Shuman and chat with him.

I haven't been to a Summerfest...can I assume this is the LC's festival setting? My son would love to see Weezer again, but he is sensitive to heat and would need to sit at least occassionally.

They didn't do the festival setting last year, but he said they'd be bringing it back this year because of the crowd Weezer & Cake would attract. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure on this information since i don't know the guy it's originating from, but I trust my friend and he trusts him. I'm reeeeeeally hoping he's right.
There will be PLENTY of places to sit. The hill would still be open, but I'm not sure how much shade would be available. They do open up the Basement and A&R Bar which are both indoors and somewhat air conditioned though.

Thanks! Guess we'll just have to play it by ear...I'll still go of course.

I've been to Summerfests where they offered festival seating, which is in the lot out back (It's the same configuration for summer beerfest, another event I highly recommend). For the festival seating, they start out with shows at the LC outdoor stage and a little side stage over by the beer vendors and then move out back for the bigger acts. It's on a concrete lot, but if you move out there early enough, you can grab a spot on one of the grass islands, beneath a tree.

Reminder: CD102.5 Summerfest tickets just went on sale at 10 AM! They always sell out quickly. I just bought for Saturday since it's dirty cheap - even including devil Ticketmaster fees, only came to $21 for two tickets.
Last Edit: May 31, 2015 7:02:55 GMT -5 by livesbydryshampoo: Had the wrong day for the low dough show down. Thanks, @Monnnieee! - Back to Top
I got 2 tickets to Thursday and Friday. I'm soooo excited about Thursday though. I won't be going to Friday. Mostly bought them so my friend who is slow a getting tickets can go when she changes her mind. It also sells out quickly, so worst case scenario I make a few bucks on resale.
But that thursday... Cake Matt & Kim Bear Hands Glass Animals Civil Twilight
Yes please, thank you. Anyone else get their tickets?

Do you mean Saturday for the low dough up & comers show? They're doing the fest Thurs, Fri, Sat this year.

@monnnieee hahaha yes, yes I do. I will be there *Saturday* for the low dough show! I will edit my post when I'm not on mobile, thank you for noticing that!
Double edit: just realize I can edit on mobile. Wow.
I had to work last night and was bummed to miss the Rolling Stones, but seeing this on my newsfeed this morning REALLY made me sad I missed it. I'm not even an OSU fan, but this is pretty cool.

What route do y'all take? Last year, we followed my phone gps and it took us off the main highways and through some podunk area in Kentucky, I think. Like to the point that we lost cell reception and our gps didn't work anymore. The roads didn't have names or stop signs. Finally made it out of there but it took us about 2 hours longer than I would expect it to. We didn't have that problem the first year but I don't remember what we did differently. Suggestions?

We just take 71 South from Cbus to 65 to 24 and we haven't had any problems with that route over the years. Jesioneka, pipe up if you have other thoughts!

Thank you! This is so much simpler. We're used to following friends down but this year we're the vets and therefore the lead so.. lol
Yup, I take the same. 71 > 65 in Louisville > 24 in Nashville (or just before or after Nashville).
I'm more concerned about hitting traffic in Louisville. I can't seem to escape it. It always goes down to one lane for seemingly no reason just before it and then it's back to normal again. A shit ton of construction barrels, yet no construction. It adds like an hour or more to my trip, and if I remember correctly it's only on the way down.
