On my way to speedway today I saw a car that I've seen before that says 'stuck in Ohio' on the back. I always wonder if that's a negative thing or not. Tonight I noticed this car also has a Bonnaroo sticker. :-D Naturally, I was wondering if it's anyone on inforoo and also, being stuck in ohio could just mean waiting to get back to TN on the farm! Haha Which, I won't be doing this year. I still have very mixed feelings. I am however, going to Alaska. So that's cool.

Edit: near Polaris
"Stuck in Ohio" could only be a negative. I don't frequent the Polaris area. Too far away. I live in Canal Winchester so Easton is my frequented mall of choice when I must go out.

I don't mind Ohio. It's nice to get away though. Also, Polaris is just awful. That's one of the reasons I'm not going to Roo, one of the many, I'm trying to move very soon. I hate living in this area. Though I'm looking to move south, Canal is a little too south for me. Do you like it over there?

Yea, there's no way I could deal with the traffic in Polaris. And everything is soooo expensive! I have a friend who lives up there.... Haven't seen her in awhile because I refuse to go up there if I can avoid it.
Canal is ok. I grew up in Pickerington so it's all the same general area. I loved Pataskala, but that's pretty far out depending on where you work. Gahanna would probably be your best bet. Like in the Stonecreek area closer to New Albany. If you get too far inside of 270 it can get real hood real quick.

Time for this thread to come alive again, I think. So... who is going, and who is not? When are you leaving, and from where?
Personally, I'm still trying to figure out how to responsibly get my hands on a ticket, as money is tight at the moment. Still hopeful that I can find a few hundred dollars on the street or something equally unlikely, lol.
It's thrown in my face every single day that OSU is in my town and that they can play sports and so I should love them. I went to OU, I'm a bobcat fan. The one about cheap beer kind of pissed me off. It's just wrong. Though in college, I drank a lot of PBR and Natty, that's because I was poor. There are breweries everywhere and craft brew stores and craft growler filling stations everywhere and it's magnificent. I enjoy good beer and most of my Ohio friends do too.
COlumbus is definitely rabid for the Bucks. I think it may be explained by the lack of major pro sports teams for sports fans to root for. Up here we have the Browns, Indians, Cavs, Bucks, and our local colleges (which no one cares all that much about). There they have the Buckeyes, Blue Jackets (hockey, meh.), and minor league baseball - which is fun to watch but no one gets carried away about it. So the fandom of OSU is amplified. That, or people in COlumbus are just crazy, which is also plausible.
Around Akron the ACME supermarket chain has started adding draft beer and selling growlers, which is nice. Their craft selection has really increased, too. And there are two great beer stores in Kent, both of which will even try to special order things they don't normally stock if you ask. Right now I'm really happy to see that New Belgium have started distributing in Ohio and are beginning to expand their lineup here. Mmm, Fat Tire and Ranger... can't wait to try their seasonals. I tried Fat Tire last year at Roo for the first time (due to Inforoo) and loved it.
Jumping into this convo months late, but, OMG 101 Bottles in Kent is the absolute best, especially now that they have a bar. They also have awesome tasting events.

i usually roll in here around 6 pm wednesday before roo..... wanna meet up here?
Ha, I'm currently 2 min from there at work down the street. I usually go on my lunch break. I can't even remember the last time I bought produce at a traditional grocery.

W-O-W, if the website is any indication, that looks like a truly incredible grocery store! Not sure I can fit it into my schedule this time around, but I MUST go there some time. That place looks like a foodie or beer/wine/cigar enthusiast's dream. On second thought, it would very dangerous, financially speaking.
Anyone willing to swing through Chicago to get a fellow Roo'er?
Geography hasn't changed since you asked the same question in this thread last year, so Chicago is still juuuuust a bit out of the way for people going to Roo from any part of Ohio, as in the wrong direction and over a state away. You will still have much better luck asking people actually from Chicago, or finding someone elsewhere in IL, WI, NW Indiana, or maybe MN. The Ohio thread will probably be of little use for this, since even from Toledo "swinging through" Chicago would add 4 hours each way. And no one cool enough to go to Bonnaroo lives in Toledo anyway. I'm not even sure anyone lives in Toledo.
Try Ricky Rides. I hope you make it, but I for one will not drive an extra 10 hours without you paying me at least as much as renting a car would cost, not including gas. Or there's always Greyhound.
I have kids I take to grandmas so no room in my car...but what about MegaBus to OH then see if there will be someone with room. But I imagine all the gear makes it tough.

Northeast Ohio here ..not far from Canton home of the pro football hall of fame
Every year, it's the worst part of the drive from Buffalo. It takes so long. And there is nothing but rest stops and Jesus signs. The one upside, is that we usually travel at night. So, just as the sun starts to rise we get to that beautiful "Welcome to Kentucky" sign and then the one thing that I like almost as much as the festival itself. It brings me a kind of fundamental happiness that I can't quite put into words. Any guesses?
Hope to see some fellow Bobcats down at Bonnaroo. I'll be wearing my OU Pride hat and it's always fun to run into a past/current OU Bobcat.
OU OH Yeah!
My BFF went to OU and I was there so often that I feel like they should give me an honorary degree...or at least some sort of plaque or trophy from The Cheese. I got way more action when I was at OU than I did at my own school, Miami.
