Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Hypothetically wouldn't you hate to go to bonnaroo and be pulled over and for some random cop to be like, "oh yeah, aren't you strum the extra crunchy 420 heady?? yeah, we're gonna need you to step out of the car..."
bad news.
well, yeah, but i mean, strum is extra crunchy 420 headie!
i like the crunchy custie points. i had never heard custie in any reference to illegal substances before this thread, i always thought it was about merchandise and tickets. like a custie dude would buy a Bonnaroo shirt from the Bonnaroo vendor, a crunchy dude would buy the shirt from the guy who strolled through his campsite
This is always how i thought the definitions were. Also I use "headie" as an adjective all the time for all sorts of things....yes Im a big dork like that. I would also interchange it for dank, kind, funky, good, sweet, awesome, choice, and select, etc. I told my boss the other day the offer we got on the contract was dank--I find no reference to drugs at all. Honestly I could careless with what goes on with it because I have no headie point option.
2. custie A poser. Someone who goes to a "jamband" show yet doesn't know anything about the band, goes to the show because its deemed cool, has subwoofers that play 50 Cent all day in their SUV, wears the stereotypical hippy clothing, and makes fun of people who talk about 'positive vibes' and 'positive energy.' This describes, in essence, 95% of all Widespread Panic fans and also would be appropriate terminology for 80% of the crowds at Phish shows from 1999 and on.
^^well that's just phunny.
2. crunchy quasi/modern day hippie; tends to wear no shoes, spends much of time finding way out of woods after smoking excessive amounts of nonoword, preferred fragrance = patchouli does it smell like feet in here?
Bek, I have no problem you expressing your opinion. It obviously differs from ours. We don't see it as an issue. I have a prob with the person in the confession thread saying that we don't care about anyone's opinion. I take that personally, cause we do. But like I said, we can't please everyone. It's just not possible. Most everyone seems to like these new karma words. A couple may not. You wanna make your opinion known, then that's fine. But ultimately it's our choice. Calling us out anonymously with untrue and ridiculous statements is cowardice. And I stand by that.
Hey dan, a couple questions.
If we talk about druqz while using the codewords, is it cool with you guys? Cause sometimes theres stuff that we (I) need to know, or have on the mind, you know?
Also, my main complaint with the new system is that you can't say aw crap i got smited, or thanks for the exaltation. Now it's aw, so I'm a custie, am I? Haha.
Lastly, where did the photo for the background come from? I love it.

I'm not trying to say anyone's opinion doesn't matter........but to me......getting upset over anything to do with the Karma/Heady points is just silly. It's such an insignificant part of this whole experience and to be annoyed with the terms they use for it is just silly. I don't see why it's such a big deal. I never even pay attention to karma/heady points because in the end....its just a stupid internet rating thing. The terms they use to represent "Positive" and "Negative" are way low on my priority scale here.

I'm opposed to the heady points primarily because I find the terms sophomoric. That said, I think Superbek has a point about what they are commonly accepted to mean. The difference between this and individuals using other druq words in their posts is that in this situation it is a requirement of opting into the sytem to have these words be part of every post you make. So whether because one merely finds the words generally annoying or because one doesn't want to be associated with druq references, the only option left by the institutionalizing of the terms is to opt out of the system. It was funny for one day as parody, but as a permanent part of the structure of things, I think it's pretty lame.
but it does put a very "jam" feel on inforoo...and im okay with that
Right. And that's kinda the point. We are prob not gonna keep this forever, but because of Phish playing this year and everything that goes with that, we thought it'd be fun to change it up. I think it makes the karma system more lighthearted, cause people seem to take their karma points extremely serious. And you can opt out of it, if it annoys you. And you could always opt back into karma if/when we change it to something that you do like. So I don't see how anyone really looses with this.

What do you mean too seriously? How else are we supposed to take it? Everything I've ever said on the internet is deeply connected to me and a small insight into my soul. I happen to take it very personally when someone doesn't agree. I cried for days whenever I noticed my karma go down. Having 50 karma points or whatever it's at made me a better person than Mr 49-Points, and I miss that. Heady points? Do I have like 50 BJs coming my way now or something?
Most everyone seems to like these new karma words. A couple may not.
Just for the record, in case it ever starts looking like there is enough disagreement with this to change them back to Karma points. I'd like to add myself to the list of people who don't like the new words. I know it's not a big deal, and it doesn't ruin my Inforoo experience or anything, but I really do cringe when I see the words heady, crunchy, and custie.
