According to bonnaroo.com the campground will open at 7pm on Wednesday this year, not 7am on Thursday.
So we could drive in at 3am? Interesting. Might be hard to set up a tent in darkness, but ok.
I would suggest setting up your tent at home in the dark. Make sure it's possible for you. That way, you'll be prepared if you need to do it at the festival.
So since they're making Wednesday night entry official, I'm sure that means more will go early, right? Think this will really shorten the lines to get in Thursday? I mean if anything, they couldn't be longer. I think this is great news. :-)
Since the gates will be opening this year starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday do you think they will penalize the people arriving early and stick them in BFE? It would seem odd to encourage people to arrival early only to reward them with BFE campsites. It seems to be a different animal then in years past. Thoughts?

Early comers don't usually get great spots. It's not a reward based system, it's a parking efficiency system. It's easiest for them to fill in the corners first.
I would bet that they will still be fillin' up the BFE/007 campgrounds first like usual. It's just a question now of how quickly it will get filled in comparison to years past.

Come early to avoid traffic delays!
This year, Bonnaroo will open on Wednesday evening June 8th at 7:00PM to allow more time for vehicles to enter the campgrounds. Historically, the longest delays for arriving attendees have occurred from 4:00AM to 7:00PM on Thursday, so consider these peak delay times when you plan your trip. Come early and get ahead of the crowd!
The parking lot and CAMPGROUND will OPEN at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
