I was driving out of Roo sunday night last year taking my time and I saw a chick walking barefoot. So I asked her if she wanted my flip flops. There were the only pair I had at the time, but she was still walking. She freaked she was so happy, and i drove home barefoot. lol I will be bringing extra shoes this year for me or whoever seems to need them
I always bring extra shade. I'm always amazed at how many people show up without any. I'll always have extra tarps and poles so neighbors don't roast. Sunscreen is also a biggie a lot of people forget.

Everyone always shares at Roo.
A couple of years ago, I bought this really cute shirt that I couldn't resist even though I knew it was a wee bit too tight. Well, after I got home and back to reality, I decided it was just too small. It sat around for months in the bag with the receipt. When it was time to pack for Roo, I grabbed it just to give it away to someone.
Met said someone at This Tent, I don't know who she was, but we had some good times and I gave her the shirt. She loved it - Put it on right then and there.
Everyone shares.
Jimmy Herring played here in Nashville last night.............
we're in family camp so we are making sure we have extra bubbles glowstix and kites to share. :-)
bring something handy and fun for someone who is on a serious mental vacation who would enjoy something blinky and you'll be the belle of the ball. like one of those rubber bouncy things that light up when you hit them or something like that. hit toys r us or walmart and look for the annoying kid toy section. ;-) i used to bring extra blinkies and shinys when i was into the rave scene back in the day. nothing makes someone smile like free toys in the middle of the night.
We bought all kinds of weird glowing shit last year (including glowing spiders tiaras, LOL) and you would have thought we brought bags of gold and cash. I'm on the hunt for non lightstick glowing things. That way they can be thrown and not hurt. Blinkys, glowy things always work.

I've been asked for TP, sunscreen, lighters, and ponchos at Roo. I always take about 10 extra ponchos just in case it rains. I leave the sunscreen in the side mesh pocket of my backpack so it can be seen and borrowed. I always have a lighter or two even though I don't smoke. I also take extra pens.
Last year I took an extra air mattress. I gave it away to our neighbors as soon as we got there and then my air mattress ended up having a bad leak. I didn't have the heart to ask for the other one back though. So we just blew it up when going to bed and always woke up on the ground. I still feel good about sharing though.
freedomofmusic - I actually have a few things already that I'm taking to hand out to whoever! Got a hat, a shirt that doesn't fit, maybe a couple shirts actually.. some glowy stuff

Ponchos are a great idea. Sunscreen is a must, but you shouldn't need an extra bottle or anything. TP would be a completely over-the-top generous gift. It's just one of the great things that if you forget it, you hate life. If I were in a bind and you had TP, I think I'd give you a hug and $50. I'm not a fan of extra bottled water though. There are sooo many water trailers at the farm that bottled water is just a bunch of landfill fodder. Not everyone recycles.

the best thing ever shared with me at bonnaroo was an ice cold watermelon one hot Tennessee morning...i will never forget how amazing that tasted...yum.
slightly off topic, but....are knives allowed in for fruit? I can't imagine using a pocket knife of plastic knife to cut through any type of melon...thanks in advance
I would imagine so, considering we can bring in charcoal or propane grills. I'm just bringing my "pocket knife" but it is a nine and a half inch fixed blade Gerber, should take care of any melons needing cutting

Make sure you hide the knife. I had a box cutter confiscated last year at the vehicle search coming in, along with some over-the-counter antihistamines that were in a prescription pill bottle with someone else's name on it.
