With a collection of bands like tool, wolfmother, or rx bandits; I think the lineup is a bit more "hardcore" than previous years. While im not all against moshing, I dont think bonnaroo is a place for it, as most people are just lounging about enjoying themselves. I cant imagine it being a problem, but there is a diverse crowd and some people might try. So please, do not mosh. I will close line you, whether I help you up or not is undecided. ^_~

I am so tired of these convos with what a minority of people might do at a concert. I am sorry the people who would just come to see these bands to cause disruption, just would not go out and pay 250 dollars and camp for 4 days. This is not coachella, this is not the Warped Tour, this is in the middle of a farm in TN. Also wouldnt you be causing more disruption if you were to closeline someone, so what makes you different for hitting someone while a minority of people may mosh a little. That is how a few people get into their music, I dont, but it happens. Also if someone was to start moshing it would be subdued faster than anything because those people will be few and far between. Wolfmother is not "hardcore" by any means, they are straight up unbiased rock. Have you listened to their album at all yet, because it is a lot like White Stripes and are you worried about them ruining roo. RX Bandits are a ska/punk/jam band that will probably play more of their skaish/jammish roots, so I dont see any moshing with that. Now Tool, there could be a few meatheads out there "trying" to mosh, while at the time it is not going to happen because Tool hates it when the crowd moshes and will stop the song until people stop. Also the majority of people will not be doing this to the music, it is just not going to happen or roo. I am tired of hearing this $hit that one band will ruin a weekend. IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, at least I wont let it ruin my time.
By the way you should beware of those hip hop bands also, we dont want a bunch of thugs ruining our time, or gogol bordello ruining with their gypsy punk music, or sasha & digweed for bring their rave atmosphere around. You can say this stuff about any band and what kind of "people" are going to be there. Sorry for my soapbox but this topic is getting old.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

I don't really consider Wolfmother to be "hardcore". I saw them last August and there was absolutely no moshing. None.
I agree with Meg.....this is a diff crowd and I doubt there will be any moshing at the shows.
I DONT consider any bands at bonnaroo even remotely close to "hardcore," I just meant that there are more aggresive rock bands this year. Christ some of you people get all bent out of shape over nothing. Im not violent or narrow minded, I'm just cautious. I got two broken ribs at warped tour a few years back. I just wanted to see flogging molly I wasnt even close to the front either. I just now saw those other threads about stuff like this, sorry.
LOL. The endless prevalence of these threads makes me want to mosh. I'd never considered it - I'm too old, it's a pita, you don't get to listen to the music, and it takes way too much energy (which is the #1 thing you need for the 'roo). But if one more of these silly threads makes its rounds, we may have to start trying to pull together the pathetic, out of shape, old man, POS mosh recruiting thread. I predict it will end up being a hilarious sumo-mosh.

There will probably be moshing at Clutch, it is expected to see moshing at a Clutch concert, they will be the heaviest band this year.
and noone has even brought up the fact that they used to be a white supremicist band when they first started out - at least that is the rumor I have always heard
I will say the last Clutch show there were a few as$holes there doin the Nazi thing, they wound up getting thrown out for trying to start fights in the mosh pit, they were carried out by several bouncers and THROWN out. But most of the crowd was cool people.
I don't know why people believe that Tool is this crazy, insance band that people are going to die in their mosh pits. I had a buddy get his nose broke at a pearl jam show.- give me a break.
Some of you folks are going to be really embarrassed after bonnaroo. Tool is a excelent rock band that puts of a kick ass show. they are as mello as WSP. You just wait and see. U will love them.
by the way Hardcore bands are way heaver..Snapcase,quicksand,Fugasi, Thursday.
idk, i've seen wolfmother, and well it wasn't a moshpit i took a few punches to the head, and well i gave em right back. it kinda suked i had my cam out, and the second they started i had to put it away cause the fans went wild, it go to the point where me and my friend threw this ass over the security fence so he couldn't hit/harass us anymore.
Ya haven't been in a pit till you've been up front and center at a Rage show! Good God. I bruised a rib, my bro passed out... I almost passed out on the way home. It was war! (Incredible performance though)
