I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere on the board (it probably has), but I searched and searched and couldn't find anything on it. Looking at the schedule and remembering what my last BROO experience was like in '02 being way out in BFE (the back corner of what is now Camp Rusty Griswald), I'm thinking I might need to plan on eating inside Centeroo for at least a day or two. Anybody have an idea of what to expect to pay for a beer or a meal inside Centeroo? It's been a few years for me, so I'm expecting some inflation....
Beer I think was around 6 bucks for a bottle of bud or bud light. Food isnt too bad, around 4 bucks for big slice of pizza. There's a good chinese place where you can get a lot of food for 10 dollars or under. Of course there are the Arepas. I'm not sure how much they were though. I never paid attention, all I knew was I was about to eat heaven and I just handed over money. lol.
But you can eat a meal for under 10 dollars easy. So if you eat 3 meals while in there you're lookin at around 20-30 bucks i'd say. Not including beer.

I won't pay $6 for beer, plus I don't even like it, so plan on taking a small flask of liquor in with me.
I always buy food inside and never spend that much. Because of the heat I never really get that hungry until later at night. Arepas are amazing (really just a snack though) and so are the Pesto Mozzadillas. Also the pizza is really really good. I don't think I have ever spent more than $20 a day on food. I do make sure to eat at the campsite before I leave though - fruit, bagels etc.
i just have my camel bac. obviously its filled up with water and i always put three or four beers below the water container. delays buying beer a couple hours..
That won't work all the time. I was a behind a guy last year that had done that and the security guard found it and dumped it out onto the ground and gave the guy his flask back.

$4 for a slice of pizza, but if it's the last one on the pan you can probably talk the price to $1 just so they can clear the spot for efficiency. Love that!

I usually put mine in front, in the crotch region, right before going through the gate. I haven't had any security people pat me there yet.

this is one thing I will say about Roo and prices...unlike a lot of venues (concerts/sporting events) the portions are very good for the amount of money. I'm not sure about beer because I didn't buy any last year, but food wise it is very fairly priced for the portions
I bought burritos in Centeroo a couple times last year that were like 10 bucks but filled me up for the whole day. They had veggie, gator, chicken, don't remember if there was anything else. Past years I just ate at the tent and brought granola bars with me to the shows, but I'll probably scarf down at least one more of those burritos this year.
The beer is definitely reasonably priced compared to other festivals (Sasquatch, Lolla, ACL, JazzFest). I'll take a nice, big cup of Magic Hat No. 9 for $6 over a $4 Miller Lite in a can any day!
I smuggled a flask in tucked in to my underwear for JazzFest. Cold as all get out, but no problems!
Tie a short string around the flask and tie the other end to the front of your belt. I always wear boxers so this is how I sneak numerous things into shows. It always works as long as you have a shirt on too.

Arepas were $5.....Spicey Pie was $4-5 a slice....most everything else was $6-8 for a LOT of food (I am thinking the chicken gyros were either $6 or $7 and it was a TON of food!) and beer was pretty much $6 whether you got the good stuff or the cheap stuff.....

Arepas are a big deal down here in south Florida. They are a Miami-based item, and all the companies that travel to festivals etc. are in Miami. We have them at all of the sporting events, etc. down here they are amazing.
