I couldn't find a thread for this so I figured I'd start one and see if anyone knows of an older one or not. My gf and I went to Roo in 07 but not in 08. In 07 there was a limit to how much alcohol you can bring in. I was just wondering if that limit still exists as I can not find it anywhere on the website. We're planning on bringing a few cases of beers but this year we're gonna try something new and do margaritas. We might premix them so I was wondering if this would be a problem with the alcohol limit if it does still exist.

I think the limits are still there but not sure where to find them. As far as Margaritas, I get the buckets (from Kroger) fill them with a 750 ml bottle of tequila and freeze. It's totally the easiest way of doing them and they are pretty good! I never have a problem taking the buckets in.

I don't know if the limit is still in effect, but I've never seen them count beers or liquor bottles. They're just trying to keep people from selling it in the campground, so if it doesn't look like you're trying to bring in a store full of liquor, you'll probably be ok.
Last year we rolled in with 12 24 packs of beer and nobody ever said a word about it. And there were only 3 of us in the car. Our car got picked to hold the beer for our caravan since we had the only person over 21 in our car.
We were discussing this in the Best Brew for Roo thread. I can't find the limit anywhere on the website either, but we decided last year it was one 12 pack per person, per day. So a limit of 4 12-packs per person. We think.
Last year the guy "checking" my car said that the 2 30-racks I had was the limit for 1 car. I saw a guy driving a truck get hassled about his 4 30-racks, but he told them it was for himself as well as the people behind him and I think they let him in.
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
Garageland seems to remember it was three cases per person, per car. Once he said that, it kind of jogged my memory and I think that's right. They didn't check ours last year going in to VIP. They seemed mostly concerned with the glass issue.
I'm sure this question has been brought up many a time, but do they check IDs of people in the cars with alcohol? I just realized that one member of our group is 18, but the rest of us are well over 21. Should we just keep alcohol out of the car she's riding in? That may make this beer limit situation worse.... ugh.

I don't know the actual policy or how they generally enforce it, but I can tell you what our experience was last year. We went in with 4 guys, none of us were 21. When they asked if we had any beer in the car the guy driving froze a little and kinda went "uhhhh....". The guy checking the car then reposed the question as "are there any bottle in the car?" and my friend responded with a smile and "no, they're in cans". We proceeded pass the check-in and went and parked. The beer was in our cooler which was packed in fairly tight, and they never even questioned or looked into how much we had, or, to answer your question, our ages. Hope that helps
I don't think security is concerned with age limits, but it's probably wise to keep all alcohol in the trunk in case there are any problems on the way to 'Roo.

don't worry about this situation at all. i've been to 3 bonnaroos & Allgood, both as the over and under person, and never even had to reach for my ID. just no glass bottles and no nitrous!
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

I swear it was 1 case/per person/per day. Count Thursday! So 4 cases.
EDIT: Oh and jhointn I agree with areyoukind. They ain't gonna ID you at the gate. The drive there maybe a little different, but not at the gate.

A little off topic but...what is the rule on small coolers with ice in Centeroo? It's been 2 years since I've been and somehow I don't remember. I like my sealed plastic water bottles to be cool. So, can I get ice in? What kind of cooler would be best? I can find no rule anywhere on the site and can get no official answer from emailing.
does anyone have any good recommendations for canned micro brews in the area? Do they even exist?
As someone said above, I don't want to be drinking coors light all weekend, I'd like to have some canned ales too.
This isn't that common, but the Kroger's in Knoxville near Farragut, TN (a small town near Knoxville) does have twelve-pack cans of Fat Tire. I have never seen them anywhere else. Other than that, my best bet around here would be Yuengling.
There are several liquor stores around the airport, so you might be able to snag some decent beer there. But if you just go to a gas station or grocery store, yeah, be prepared for something like Coors Light.
I'm snatching up most of the Fat Tire cans in Nashville for myself! Oh, and garageland

I'm not sure if you can take any kind of cooler into Centeroo..... Do they allow you to take more than one sealed water bottle in?

I live in Murfreesboro (about an hour outside of Manchester) and we have several grocery stores that sell the Fat Tire in a can. Most of the Krogers in the area sell them. There are also many small beer stores that sell all types of Microbrews, but they are in bottles. Hope this helps.
