Steve: I will be ordained a subdeacon. On Christmas Eve (read: Nativity Liturgy). At my home parish, with all my family present. I don't need any other Christmas gifts.

Thanks, Andy. Seminary for me will be a 3-year stint. Up first is ordination to the subdiaconate. Probably next fall will come the diaconate, and then... well, God willing, I'll be ordained as a priest towards the end of my third year. Then I and my family will be placed in a parish somewhere. Then it all really begins.
I have, which was easy since I was only getting gifts for two people: my wife is getting a gift card good for five yoga classes, and (as part of my wife's secret santa tradition) my cousin-in-law who is a trumpet major is getting a book I enjoyed called "This Is Your Brain on Music" by Daniel Levitin.
Donatello. Always has been, always will be. He's not a tool like Leonardo (the TMNT equivalent to Cyclops), not an a-hole like Raphael, and not a meathead like Michelangelo. He's every bit as good as the others, but smarter and less show-offy. The bo is a wicked awesome weapon, and he makes the purple work.
How many times has "All I Want for Christmas is You" been forced upon you this holiday season?
Thankfully, none. Although my wife knows that my truly least favorite holiday song is "Winter Wonderland", and has encouraged friends and acquaintances to sing it in my presence, so I have suffered through that one a few times.

Mr. nodepression has graciously agreed to be January's Board Member of the Month. Treat him well and give 'em hell.
nodepression, here is your crown, cape, scepter, laurels, and gourd full of mead.
First Q: What do you hope to accomplish in 2010?
Second Q: What was your first Bonnaroo, and what were the circumstances that led you to attending it?
Thanks Steve.
1. In terms of music, I'm hoping to go to Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and ATP. Coachella will be the most difficult because I'd be going alone, and it's during the last weeks of my semester. But if the lineup is right, I'm going. I'm starting to realize if I have the money, why not go? I always read the reviews and look at the photos after the festival and regret not going (this pretty much goes for every festival though, but especially Coachella.)
Also, I want to play the guitar more. I have a nice red telecaster staring at me right now and I haven't picked it up in awhile. I need to get back to it.
In terms of life, watch tv less, read and go outside more. I've also been running pretty frequently, so maybe step up the distance. It just sucks because it won't be nice out for another five months in Buffalo, so I'll be running in sleet, snow, rain, hail, and whatever else this town can throw at me.
It also looks like I'm moving out of my parents house in Spring, so I'm looking forward to that move.
2. First Bonnaroo was 2008. It was one of those things where my friends and I always wanted to go, and it just happened to be the first year we were old enough that it was feasible. The lineup sealed it as well, Pearl Jam and MMJ were major sellers for me, although I probably would have gone anyway.
Things did go wrong however, my friends mom wasn't comfortable with us taking my car (it had something like 150,000 miles on it) so we took the Greyhound. I will never do this again though, and probably wouldn't recommend it unless it was a last resort like it was for me. The first bus from Erie to Cincinnati was alright, it wasn't oversold, and for some reason the bus driver took to pointing out such amazing sights as Lake Erie. But then the overnight bus from Cincinnati to Atlanta was worse than I ever could have imagined. Between being completely sold out and having to split up our group, there was a man on his phone in front of me who had terrible reception and kept yelling "eh" and the cracked out woman offering us pills (she didn't specify what kind) it was quite the character builder. I was so glad to get off that bus.
My Question.....nodepression, are you and Airline the same person? Or maybe twins separated at birth?
Definitely not the same person haha. We share a bunch of opinions on music and are close in age though. For as much free time as I have, I don't have enough to split between two user names and give the illusion that we are different people. I only have one other name on this board and it was for a joke when someone asked about throwing a music festival. I am on the lolla boards infrequently under this same name, and on the Coachella Message Board slightly more under softbulletin.
That board I might add is like stepping on land mines, for as much as some people get mad at me on here, there are people that get away with absolute murder over there. It's pretty entertaining though haha.

That hurts druid ;D
We are about the same age and like pretty much the same music, but one of us watches LOST and one of us loves the Flaming Lips. Those are about the only differences i've noticed so far. Though he is from Buffalo and i'm from Atlanta.
Here's a Q NoD. I was at the Avett Brothers show last night and literally every person at the Fox was singing the songs so loud you couldn't hear any of the harmonies or instrumentation.
Q: What is the worst crowd situation you have ever been in, in relation to hearing the music? I've been pissed about this all day.

I don't have too much trouble with singing along at shows it seems, but talking is another story. Why the hell do people go to concerts if they're just going to have their back turned and talk really loudly? Really frustrating to me. It pisses me off so much that if the person I'm with tries to talk to me while a set is going on I will shake my head profusely and just point to the band.
Two examples stand out here, Dirty Projectors at Bonnaroo, and St. Vincent opening up for Andrew Bird in Buffalo. At Dirty Projectors one of my brothers friends talked throughout the whole thing, and I was fuming. I don't care about what you had for breakfast, or how long the drive in was, I'm here for the music. At St. Vincent I got split up from my brother because I tried to bring my camera in, (it wasn't professional by the way) and the guy at the door said it was too big, which is bullshit. If you were going to tell me they weren't allowing cameras in, fine. But to say it was too big was ridiculous in my opinion. So when I finally did get in, I was disappointed to see all the people around me talking completely ignoring a great performance in my favorite venue in town (a converted church.) Anyway I was so angry I refused to return my brothers texts to locate me for fear of being a hypocrite.
