;D So I searched Hangover cures/remedies to see if there was already a thread and found some great cures although in a few different places. Just wanted to start a place where we could offer up some good suggestions to stay feeling groovy all weekend long!!!
This is my suggestion and was suggested to me at my first Roo in 03'......Alka-Seltzer Morning Relief!! It is choice for your queasy tummy, has caffeine for that extra energy and of course pain reliever for your headache. AND its citrus flava. They made it just for hangovers!
My hangovers consist of not being able to consume anything . I start with a bannana (no prob on the stomach) and then have a candycane. And then an hour or two later I have a pack of Ramen. Strange? Yes, but it works for me.

If I wake up hungover, the first thing I do is get a little bottle of the blue Powerade. Always helps for me.
Blue Powerade is proof that God wanted me to drink myself into oblivion, because when morning comes all it takes is one of those bottles and it relieves the pain of 12 bottles the night before.
Ill be drinkin it all weekend cause its a wonder drink! Great hangover cure cause it rehydrates you so fast. faster than gatorade or powerade and it has less sugar and less sodium. Orange flavor is best in my opinion. It really will set your head straight in the morning when you are hurtin. All my friends were skeptics last year until they all had hangovers and I didnt. then they learned the way of the gookinaid! :-) runs about $14 for enough powder to make 5 gallons and comes with a little scoop, 4 of which makes a full Nalgene. I work in a HOTT ASS kitchen/bar all year and we all drink this stuff....makes all the difference.
I just pretend my hangover isn't there until it actually does go away.
HA!!! That sums it up. BC POWDERS are amazing. I usually try to take one with at least 1 -2 glasses of water either before or after and it never has failed.

yeah i dip into the emergen-c often as well, good insta-boost. and an ibuprofen never hurt anyone as well.
speaking of hangover cures, does anyone else have dreams shortly before they wake up that they are chugging multiple gallons of water, gatorade, etc? And it sucks so bad because you still never feel satisfied, it kinda ruins dreams.

DO NOT TAKE TYLENOL WITH ALCOHOL!!!
Alcohol damages the liver; so does Tylenol. But when you take them together, the damage is exponentially worse. If there's even a chance of any alcohol still being in your system, try asprin or Midol/Ibuprofen instead.
As for hangovers, here's an interesting article: tinyurl.com/5mu5
It suggests a few things - - Eat prickly pear cactus 5 hours before drinking - Lots of water before going to sleep - vitamin C & B-complex with Gatorade the morning after - something called cysteine to counteract the acetaldehyde toxin in your system (more on that here - tinyurl.com/2ocojh) - B-complex vitamins
I'm planning on packin' some B-complex sublingual drops, vitamin C, maybe even some of this cysteine crud.
Anyone know where I can get some prickly pear cactus in Manchester?

Hangovers are more than dehydration, although dehydration is the primary cause of discomfort. A hangover is also acute alcohol withdrawl. Hence the "hair of the dog" remedy, which actually does help. even just a few sips of beer or half a shot will make a noticable difference.

you'll also have more of a hangover if you drink brown liquor, like whiskey. something about how brown liquor has more of a certain chemical that sits in your liver. i heard this the other day and it made perfect sense... i seem to get naaasty hangovers when i drink whiskey.
I don't know if anyone else has tried Chasers to prevent a hangover. When I tried them, and I didn't drink THAT much that night, I had the worst hangover I've ever had. (Well not quite as bad as the one I had after drinking an entire bottle of Tarantula -among other things- by myself at my sister's annual summer party which I was never invited to again. )

Awesome article! Karma! You and I follow the same hangover advice.
B-vitamins are the absolute best I've ever tried.
In fact, last year every day before we went out to Centeroo and when we got back I personally put into everyone's hand a B complex, and out of a possible of 20 times (5 people x 4 nights) there were only 2 hangovers. And one of these I don't think the alcohol gods themselves could have saved. This is what happens when you show back up at 3am wet, muddy, and unable to retrace their steps. Shall we say a 90% success ratio for our B vitamin friend??
So, I think this year the Bonnaroo Hangover Redemdy 2007 will be: 1 B-complex vitamin 1 e'mergent C 1 cysteine amino acid (I'm off to check this out at the store today) 1 beer = 1 glass of water (hey I can at least say I'm going to do this)
upon arrival back to the RV: SEVERAL glasses of water with just a little bit of salt added
