In just 17 days, many of us will be on Marvin's Mountaintop just down the road from Masontown, WV. I was there for the first time last year and plan to be back every year that I can make it.
There was a Camp Inforoo last year, and the atmosphere there was just as magical as the festival itself. A lot of the people who made up that group from last year have other plans this year, so it's time to move on and see who wants to get together for Camp Inforoo 2009.
If everyone who's interested could post what time you plan to get there and list any gear, most importantly canopies that you can bring to help set up a group camp, we can try to get something organized. If a few people want to try to meet up at Walmart or somewhere like that and caravan in, they could grab a spot and get things started. We could have a phone list so those coming in later could just text someone on the list and get directions to the campsite. Last year, I was in on Wednesday morning, but worked all day Wed. and most of Thurs. and just texted for directions to the campsite others had set up while I was working.
So, who is interested in being part of Camp Inforoo 2009?
Count me as a maybe. I'll be going alone, but I'm not totally sure if I will be there Thursday or not. If so, I have a 12x12 EZup.
Will you guys meet up before you go in or something? I don't completely understand how All Good works.
That 12 X 12 would be great! Don't worry, even if you don't get in until Friday, you'll still be able to join the camp.
Hopefully there will be a meet up planned so people can drive in together. But All Good is different than Bonnaroo. You can decide where to park, provided there's room. As long as we get a few people together early, we should be able to claim enough space to set up. Then those arriving later may still be able to drive to the site, after texting for the location. Or worst case, some may have to haul their things there, but should be able to get help if needed. We'll need to get a spot next to a road to make it easier to get to for late arrivals. So even if you can't get parked at the campsite, you could drop off your stuff and park fairly close by. I'm basing all this of my understanding of how things went last year, although I was working my volunteer shift while this was all going on.
Last year's Camp InfoGood was right next to Shakedown, which was very convenient, but a little on the busy and noisy side But somewhere in that general area should be good for this year.
I'm expecting to be in the venue by Tuesday night, so I'll do some scouting and try to help find a good conveniet spot by the time others start coming in.
Just got my ticket!!! Woo! And yeah i'll be doing the solo thing and Camp Infogood sounds great!
Soooo I"M IN! but kinda confused on the camping thing.. I'll be there Thursday
Welcome aboard! There'll be a phone list to help everyone find each other. Some who come in on Thursday will be able to meet up and drive in together, but even those who don't should be able to find the camp and either park there or close by. It won't be like Roo, where they put you where they want you. You get to park pretty much where you want at All Good.

i'm not going to be there until friday early morning and i'm still not sure about camping arrangements...if i don't camp with camp infogood, i'd at least like to stop by and make some friends!
dammit dammit dammit...im tryin people...workin my ass off here tryin to get the $$...I'll let you know as soon as I do
edit: and for all the people worried about camping, don't be. My first time there I had no problem telling where the main stage area was, shakedown, and camping areas were all within a few minutes after the vehicle search. also, if you dont like your spot you can pretty much just drive around til you find a better one. (maneuvering safely around all the tents, of course

Good luck making it there.
And, yeah All Good is very easy to find your way around. In the picture above, the area I had in mind for the camp would be in the large half circle or backward D shaped area above the trees near the middle of the picture. Last year it was right on the left side of the road, but we may want to go deeper into that section, because it should be easier to save space farther from the road, plus that is a very busy area by the road all weekend long. The campground stage is right across the road also.

We should look into that shouldn't we. I'll drive. 4x4 on the fly up the mountain. $139 is less than I would have spent on a new lawnmower. Plus I could just get mine fixed. Is kangroo ready for All Good? Shit am I ready for All Good? When and where time is the meet up for camp infogood?

Ok. I don't even have a ticket or know for certain that I can get the time off from work, but I'm feeling the vibe. That and I'm a cantankerous curmudgeon who likes things to go as planned. I have heard (being an uber-custie I've never been to AG myself) that staying together can be tough when getting your caravan through the tollbooths. I say that on the way up the hill whoever is going physically tethers our vehicles together so that we cannot be separated. This will ensure that all who want to camp at our camp camp at said camp at which they wish to camp.

1 - Probably not, but there's really no way to be completely prepared for it.
2 - Time and place to be determined. I think Walmart was used last year. Plenty of time to figure that out. I'll be camped out starting Tuesday night or Wednesday morning myself. It's starting to look like I'll be moving out of Volunteer Camping Thursday and dragging my tent to Camp InfoGood. I may leave my truck there though.

That should work, but even if you get separated, you won't get led to a parking space like Roo. I plan to stake out a spot and text directions to it. I should probably come up with a flag of some sort.
