i'm glad you jamheads still have this fest. with rothbury dying and roo seeming to cut the ties with the jam band scene(at least this year), it's good you all have another place to go. have a good time!

What's great is that you just have to buy one camping pass for your entire crew, instead of each of you having to get a fest+camping ticket. And man do I love that lineup.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.
i hear ya. most of the bands i was wanting from roo will be there. i'm just hoping i can convince someone to come with me to split some of the cost. what's this i hear about extended camping?
I haven't bought my camping pass yet. Still trying to talk some friends into go. Right now it looks like I may be making the drive alone. Luckily I know a bunch of folks who are coming in from elsewhere, plus all you cool cats. (I'm trying to use "cats" more often)

Last year they offered an extended camping pass for around $20(no exactly sure the cost). This allowed campers to stay and enjot the beautiful campgrounds until they needed to move on to the next destination in their journey. I believe the last night you are able to camp is Wednesday evening.
Perfect for people who are wanting to continue to Bonnaroo from Wakarusa. I would say that they will have something posted about it on the "tickets/camping pass" page of their website sometime soon.

thanks. i'll be sure to keep an eye on the site for it. waka keeps looking better and better.
Man I'm super bummed I can't make this, it looks like the place to be this summer. Great acts, and what looks to be a great venue which all will surely lead to a great time. Have fun everyone that goes.......

So, my Roo crew is thinking about Waka this year, as am I. Other than the obvious (smaller crowd, more temperate weather, beautiful Ozarks) how does it compare to Bonnaroo in terms of festival experience?

Well if the two festivals were cars, Roo would be a Ferrari and Waka would be an El Camino. It's fun, but it doesn't even begin to compare.
Waka is part of the reason I love the Bonnaroo lineup this year. I'm taking a month off and hitting Smilefest then Hookaville then Waka then Bonnaroo. I'm already getting all of the Jam that I want (which is usually what I look most forward to in a festival) so the Roo lineup has all of the other bands I want to see.
The only thing Roo has that Waka needs is the Avett Brothers.
