It seems to me they are having problems getting rid of these last tickets. Im sure it will sell out, but it looks like the earlier stated "tickets selling 20 percent faster" has drifted away.

dont they allow 80,000 ppl? wow .. i never realized how many people that really is! 80,000 wow. that's what i love about bonnaroo - no matter what hour or where you are ... you are always surrounded by the funnest people in the world
how do you get your tickets if they have already shipped and you buy one?
I am pretty sure they have a "will call" type stand for those that buy after they ship. I dont think that you can buy any tickets at the site, other than scalped.
I am not so sure that it is going to sell out this year. They did such a bad job with their addition annoucements. I 'm not knocking the additions that they announced, because I am definitely happy about the Jazz and El-P. But it seems like in previous years they had a much better marketing plan.
Plus, I think that their initial "tickets are selling at 20% more than last year" might have something to do with the fact that you could not buy tickets until two weeks later than last year. Meaning that more people were ready to spend their money right when the tickets went on sale this year compared to the other years.
Also I think that Lollapalooza and Virgin Festival might have taken a little bit of the buyers away from the Roo. All the east coasters can go to Virgin Festival to see the Police, where last year, if you wanted to see Radiohead, and were not lucky enough to get tickets to one of their intimate shows, your only real choice was to see them at the Roo.
Of course tomorrow they will announce that they have sold out, since I normally dont know what I am talking about.

i think after the cut off ship date (june 4th) you print em out from home? maybe i'm thinking of vegoose or another concert... but i'm a solid 65% sure
VIP sold out a month earlier than last year. I remember posts on a different board last year saying doom and gloom about Tom Petty and how tickets sold were only in the 20,000 range and how Superfly was going to take a bath and on and on. The next week it was sold out. My guess is they announce it sold out this time next week.

I think because of a less conventional lineup there were some people waiting for a big addition such as The Mars Volta or My Morning Jacket or another "usual." But regardless, I'm thinking it'll sell out in the next week.

Last year they announced the "sell-out" two days (Tuesday) before the fest began, probably because they would be no longer able to ship them (2nd Day Mail) and get themto you in time, adding to the "sell-out" mystery....
The theory that they announce it selling out two days before to festival makes perfect sense if you think about the logistics of how they have to run their business:
1. I doubt they want to pay hourly wages to people taking cash at the gate, which Superfly will probably never get.
2. They probably won't be able to run credit cards or check to see if checks will bounce out at the gates.
3. I guess they could post directions to someplace where tickets can be purchased that's not at the gate, but if that's the plan, then they need to post it on the website now, and to my knowledge, they never have posted an alternative to buying them online.

In 2005 the festival did not sell out. I heard they sold about 73,000 tickets that year. They set up a box office at some location in the town of Manchester. To my knowledge 2005 was the only year they set up a box office. It could happen again if they have extra tickets to sell. I think if they had any significant number of tickets available they would set up a box office. Even if they sell only 200 more tickets at the gate, that's another $42,900.

Although I personally am not a huge fan of any of the headliners this year, they definitely have caused quite a commotion, especially on inforoo. People seem to be incredibly excited about Tool and the Police with very little negative feedback to my knowledge. Widespread is... well... it's Widespread Panic. And it's Bonnaroo. Two peas in a pod, perhaps.
