Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
both Radiohead and Tool have headlined Coachella...
Yes they have, but will Bjork ever headline Bonnaroo? How about Jesus and Mary Chain being a pre-headlining act? How about NIN and Coldplay headlining? I doubt these bands will ever play Roo, as they are hyped bands (not saying I don't enjoy a Coldplay or NIN song here and there). And even if they do play Roo, I don't think they'll come close to headlining.
Yes, they will never headline Bonnaroo and Phil would never headline Coachella.
We're goin' thru Atlanta. The time is about the same but if you go thru Atlanta you avoid driving thru the mountains in the dark with a fully loaded car, plus you can drive at about 75 the whole way through GA.

im thinking it wont sell out. i have 1 difficult conflict this year and its still an easy decision. in years past i had dozens of conflicts. i think that the lineup changes are the reason. and the fact that wakarusa and all good are before and after roo and have more of a lineup one would expect from roo. not to mention almost all the bands that roo has that appeal to the traditional rooer are at waka and all good with with better slots plus a whole boat load of amazing things that you would normally expect from roo. im curious to find out how many are at roo this year. im betting it will be close to a sell out. but if they have 10,000 tickets laying around atleast we will probably get back to the roo lineup that ive grown to love for next year. not bashing the roo. i cant wait. but i know alot of people that are skipping roo due to the lineup situation. and alot of people that were on the bubble of going wanted to go for string cheese, especially a latenight. but 10klf has stolen that thunder. no matter what its gonna be a hell of a good time and the less people there are the cleaner the porta potties are.
sigh
my 2 cents: If this year doesn't sell out (and It looks like it won't), I don't think it will be a coincidence that the only 2 years Roo hasn't sold out will be the last 2 years Widespread Panic headlined.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Back on topic...
I don't think widespread panic is adversely affecting ticket sales enough to prevent the "sell out." Its a convergence of several factors:
Competition from other festivals Cost (gas, tickets, planes, life etc) and an extremely diverse lineup
And as far a diversity goes, its that old adage about compromise making no one happy. I bought early bird tickets because for me its not about the bands that are there .. its just about you being there.
And (thick jamaican accent) .. Hooooorrrray for clean porta-potties
"And as far a diversity goes, its that old adage about compromise making no one happy. I bought early bird tickets because for me its not about the bands that are there .. its just about you being there. "
...But it has gotten to the point to where it has gotten away from my musical tastes a good deal.
Another Charlotte roo'er here! Why do you say driving through Asheville sucks? Nothing sucks about A'ville...love it!
I don't think it's Asheville so much, but rather the twists and turns through the mtns on 40 coming into TN... those are a pain, especially in a loaded down vehicle.

I said driving through Asheville sucks, but I'm not in Charlotte. If you are coming from the direction I have to come, then you would understand. 240 sucks. There are too many roads and too many lanes for a town that size.
I love Asheville, too, but trying to get to another highway from I-26 is hard. Plus, the directions I get online are hardly ever right.

Whether there are 80,000 people or 78,000 people, this weekend is going to be incredible....I'm sure everyone agrees with that. Also, I'm sure the folks who run the 'roo will take note if it doesn't sell out and make the necessary adjustments/improvements....
