Not quite sure that 80000 people buy tickets based on the headliners.......The lineup wasnt even relevant when I bought mine let alone the headliners. Thats the beauty of a festival like this in comparison to Lollapalooza etc....Id check the line up before I bought tickets to those..........Bonnaroo is a given. Id still probably buy tickets if it was 4 hobos playing one string guitars for 4 days if i knew 79,999 other awesome people were going to be there.

i know 80,000 people don't buy their tickets based on headliners alone; i certainly don't. i've only watched two entire bonnaroo headliner's sets out of the 15 that i've been present for. i won't stay for the entire time for any of the three this year. their just filler for a weekend full of great music and good friends. bonnaroo!

it would not matter to me either way, if they sell out that means all the people there wanted to be there.. if they don't that just means more space for us..
1) Virgin stole their thunder by booking The Police, something that didn't happen last year with Radiohead. 2) The additions, while great, were for the most part obscure. 3) Gas prices are a bitch or a bastard depending on your gender preference.

They may sell out, but if not who gives a nuts, i am excited to see Richard Thompson,Clutch,WhiteStripes,Tool, thepolice, SCI, Gov Mule,Ween,Railroad Earth, Ratdog,Wilco, and many more all in one place. I cant go to lollapalooza, because that trip would be too expensive, or any East or west Coast festivals because It is too far, so here is to Bonnaroo, the more the merrier, but even if there were only a hundred people this would still be the best festival there is this year. Just my 2 cents.

I saw "4 Hobos" in Cleveland last week. They've got a new light show that uses old Coke Cans. Also, instead of confetti, they use small spray bottles of windshield wiper fluid. It works GREAT!
Here's the setlist :
Got some change? Nookie with a Wookie Home (in Hoboken) Roxanne Mad Dog has Bite I shot the Sheriff! I left my heart in San Fransisco, My shoes are in Detriot I was just kidding, no really, I never shot ANYBODY! You play my hearstrings, I play one string
I totally hope they're a late addition this year. Keep your fingers crossed that they're the TBA on Friday night!!!
im thinking it wont sell out. i have 1 difficult conflict this year and its still an easy decision. in years past i had dozens of conflicts. i think that the lineup changes are the reason. and the fact that wakarusa and all good are before and after roo and have more of a lineup one would expect from roo. not to mention almost all the bands that roo has that appeal to the traditional rooer are at waka and all good with with better slots plus a whole boat load of amazing things that you would normally expect from roo. im curious to find out how many are at roo this year. im betting it will be close to a sell out. but if they have 10,000 tickets laying around atleast we will probably get back to the roo lineup that ive grown to love for next year. not bashing the roo. i cant wait. but i know alot of people that are skipping roo due to the lineup situation. and alot of people that were on the bubble of going wanted to go for string cheese, especially a latenight. but 10klf has stolen that thunder. no matter what its gonna be a hell of a good time and the less people there are the cleaner the porta potties are.

It will sell out, I'm sure, as it gets closer. There's a huge wave of last minute tickets bought for many events like this as moons align for people and plans are made. At the RV rental place we are using they mentioned people are still calling asking for reservations Roo weekend, having just decided to go. (Of course, they've been booked for months.)

Lmao.
Oh, man Mad Dog Has Bite??? They haven't played that one in years! What a show!

I know several people who aren't going to Bonnaroo this year just because of the lack of Jambands. I still say there were less jam bands there last year then this year. Their loss, I like jambands, but I'm seeing just as many non jambands as I am jambands this year (damn thats alot of jambands in one sentence). I think you're right about ticket sells being kinda down because of the lack of jam and there are so many festivals you can goto to get your fix besides 'roo nowadays (10kL, Wannee, GOTV, Summercamp, etc). I don't wanna see 'Roo turn into Coachella, but I seriously doubt it will. I think they have made great moves by getting quality bands like Tool, Radiohead, The Police, etc. Not like Coachella where they just grab the lastest hyped indie bands to play.

both Radiohead and Tool have headlined Coachella...
I am surprised we haven't gotten at least the fake sell-out announcement yet, if the theory that they just say it is sold out so they don't have to sell tickets onsite, or to make the fest look better, is true.
I think it will "sell out," for security reasons alone.
They'd probably like to limit the crowds heading down without a ticket. The announcement doesn't clear up the problem completely, of course, but I'm sure it helps to some degree.
i wouldnt be surprised if it didnt sell out because i fully agree with "dudewheresmyroo??? and with Copeland talking so much shit about his own band its bound to make some people think twice. More room for me tho!!

Yes they have, but will Bjork ever headline Bonnaroo? How about Jesus and Mary Chain being a pre-headlining act? How about NIN and Coldplay headlining? I doubt these bands will ever play Roo, as they are hyped bands (not saying I don't enjoy a Coldplay or NIN song here and there). And even if they do play Roo, I don't think they'll come close to headlining.
