Sweet. It's been a little bit of a downer when our crew dropped from 8-3 in less than 24 hours. But it'll be less of a hassle carvanning down there. It'll be nice to have more people to party with.

I'm jealous of all of you.
I've been thinking this whole time that we were going to be getting down there Thursday and my dad tells me the other day that we're not actually leaving til early Friday morning.
HUH??? WTH are ya'll gonna do? Cuz I know it doesn't take that long to get from Gulfport to Gulf Shores - LOL
haha no, it doesn't. but handgun and bama can't head down til late thursday, and it's bama's house, so...
however, wolfaroo has so kindly offered kristen and me a spot somewhere in his recently pseudo-vacated condo, so we'll be there thursday afternoon afterall
Sweet - I knew when they were heading down. Wish we could head down on Thursday night also BUT - the responsibilities of parenting - I have to get the kids to school on Friday and then we hit the road. The other 3 in our crew will be leaving before us because they are antsy and want to get down there.
I read in another article tho that they actually think that these are the product - NOT of the spill itself but of the initial explosion and fire on the rig.
Regarding the tar clumps that washed ashore on Dauphin Island (an island west of Mobile Bay) over the weekend, Overton believes these may have come from the Deepwater Horizon rig that exploded and sank but probably are not from the current wellhead. He said the oil from the wellhead has likely not had time to transform into tar balls during the three weeks since the rig sank.

Thanks for the info. I'm bringing my kids, 7 & 5, and am a little more sensitive about the toxicity levels of the water, from both the oil and the dispersants, than if it were just me. I'm sure I've swam in worse water, like the Cahaba River.

So. Are we going to have an Inforoo party? I know we have talked about it since so many of us are going but I don't think any concrete plans have been set.
Anyone know any info on this?
We've got 2 more days left so if we're going to then I guess we better get on the ball.

After packing my suitcase, I realize that I pack like a woman. I think I packed close to 10 tshirts, 4 pairs of shoes, 3 hats, etc...

I guess we're leaving a bit earlier than we planned, which is a good thing. Meeting up at Wolfaroo's tonight round 7, then meeting hippie, hgh, kk, and willsfc Thursday at the condo.
As far as the inforoo party, we'll figure it out when we get there. Since some peeps aren't going to be there on Thursday. I think Friday night or Saturday during John Legend would be perfect.

i'm a terrible packer! i just like having options
i was hoping to sleep until 9 or 10 tonight and then get on the road, but alas, after 3 hours, my body just isn't tired anymore. either that, or i'm just too darn excited!!
now i'm just getting all the odds and ends together. at least driving myself i can't feel bad for having too much crap with me! :-p
