I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.
I'm jumping on the Northern Iowa and Cornell bandwagons.
Amen! Although I like Kentucky. But I'm rooting for Cornell all the way. If they make it to the Final Four hopefully the Tone Rangers will come sing the National Anthem.

Also, did anyone watch the Hawks/Spurs game last night? It was incredible. That was what Joe Johnson, Al Horford, and Marvin Williams all can be. Josh Smith could have played better. But everybody else was on fire. If the Hawks played like that every night they would be dangerous.

Sorry guys, I'll bet my life savings that UK handles Cornell with no problem on Thursday. Jay Bilas might think we are going down but there is no way an Ivy League school is going to put up a fight against this team of future pros.

I think both Michigan St and Kentucky are fully capable of stomping their cinderella opponents, but neither are the most consistent teams, and we have seen flukes can happen. That said, I expect the cinderellas to end in the sweet 16 with maybe St. Marys having the best shot.

Go Vols! My bracket's shot but at least my boys are still in it.
At this point I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a UT vs UK championship game. I also wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see another 25 point beat down. Bring on the VOLS. Go CATS and go SEC!
Yep, bye bye. At least KY won't have to go through the pain of vacating a national championship appearance under Coach Cal (again). I can't begin to describe how glad I am KY lost. Go Vols! Beat State!

For a Memphis fan, it was a thrill watching all the karmetic justice spilled out on my tv screen over the weekend. Never enjoyed the tournament so much when my team wasn't dancing.

Yea, it was a tough season for us. The fact that we competed at all this year is a miracle considering where we were when Cal departed with our entire class. But, the Pastner hire (which I dearly hope ushers in a "clean" era at Memphis, it's way overdue), and the prospect of the #1 recruiting class for next year team helped us get through a tough season. We still packed FedEx Forum and supported our team. I guess you want to get a little dig in, and hey, if that's how you roll... I wish I could say that your comments weren't representative of your fanbase, but you guys make it so hard by taking every opportunity to act classless. I give your team props for having a great year. Coach Pearl overcame A LOT of adversity this year. I look forward to many exciting matches between our teams.

A-hole comment, I know. I had just gotten done listening to all my friends from back home saying "Ha-ha, UT lost," so I was feeling a-hole-ish when I read your post. Sorry for the "dig."
That being said, I agree with your sentiments about Pastner. The Tigers have become more difficult to hate for me, as Pastner is a class act (with Cal it was waaaayyy too easy). And yes, the Memphis-UT rivalry is exciting for both teams' fans; it's probably the most anticipated matchup of the season for me.

No problem man, believe me, I understand emotional reactions regarding a beloved team, lol. I just hope Coach Pastner turns out to be as good a game coach as he is a recruiter...too early to tell (but we could hardly do worse in that respect than our last coach). So, who is everyone rooting for NOW? I guess I'm on the Huggie Bear bandwagon, since he slayed Goliath, but jeez, as a fan since our heydays in the 80's under Kirk, it sure is hard to root for the guy, he ALWAYS had Memphis's number.
