He has several clues on his twitter to lead to him (KLOOS SOON TO ARRIVE ON THE RADIO ROOS./CLUES COULD START TONIGHT. DJJD is in L.A. If you find me tonight- I will give you the first clue IN PERSON...person...person...person../the clue on where to find me was in the last tweet...tweet...twe...tw../And I will be going north tomorrow, with flowers in my hair for those up that way. Listening BD?) but the last says "but the first actual clue- will most likely be on the radio roo today, before I reach my Jim Morrison like odd-a-saaaaaa aaaa aaaaa y"

Maybe, but those Twitter clues seemed more straightforward. This looks like a real clue to me.
Does anyone remember him using a monkey anywhere other than the audio of the Beastie Boys clue? That was the only monkey picture I remembered (it was Curious George, actually) and I always wondered if that was a "Brass Monkey" reference. But if there were more instances than just that one where he used a monkey, then there may be something there....
Edit: Oh yeah, and as osten pointed out, he said himself that this one was a real clue.

What about Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds?
The Arctic Monkeys cover Nick Cave. The bad seeds imply offspring and bad seeds would be from hell, a hot place. If Cave is with the Bad Seeds, he would thereby the warmest monkey.
Also, check out this picture of a monkey on his site.

And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Link Wray keeps coming to mind. He's dead, so he's missing. He's the missing link. *The* missing link = monkey. Wray = ray. A ray is warm. I don't know how the "children" part of the clue relates, except many rock guitarists, including Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page and others, consider him the "father" of hard rock.
Edit: Since Link Wray is dead, he "*was* the warmest..."

I know this is a stretch , but what isn't! The NYT's ArtsBeat ran an article about Gregg Allman,s response to why they moved to the United Palace for their annual March run. “It’s a drag,” Mr. Allman added. “But one monkey don’t stop no show.” tinyurl.com/y8bf2wl So the guess is Gregg Allman (monkey) & Allman Brothers (the offspring).
Link Wray keeps coming to mind. Lancelot Link was a chimp in an early '70s television comedy. A Wray, or ray would warm Link up... Well Page did say he was touring in 2010. I am hoping this is the right one. Then he joins the Who onstage. Yep, in a dream state now.

Probably another stretch, but this time using opposites. The opposite of Monkee (to me) would be Beatle. Who was the warmest beatle? Don't really know lol. But Paul McCartney plays music with his son.

I haven't heard of any plans for them to ever tour together. Paul was supposed to be playing on James's debut album, but I don't even know what's happening with that because it was supposed to be out sometime last year and never happened. James is really shy, and although he seems to be a little less reclusive lately I was still surprised when I heard he was working on an album...so when it never appeared, I sort of figured maybe he changed his mind about it. So unless there's something new I haven't heard about the situation, I don't think that can be it.
Haha my mom mentioned Wolfgang Van Halen when I mentioned the clue to her. And she also asked if Elijah Blue Allman played with the Allman Brothers (although he doesn't afaik). And she knew both sons' names. My mom is awesome.
Anyway, yeah, Wolfgang Van Halen is in the band now. But I have no idea how to make Eddie VH into the warmest monkey, and I think Van Halen's way too big for a first clue anyway.

Just read that the Gorillaz 3rd album is expected to come out in the spring and their twitter account which had been dead since april sprang back to life yesterday with a fury. Seems like too obvious an answer for the clue but maybe djjd wants to start us off easy before he unleashes his full assault our sanity.
My dad may have figured it out. Michael Nesmith of the monkees always wore a wool toboggan making him the warmest monkey. His son Christian Nesmith also worked on an album(The Garden) with his dad. It fits the clue perfectly so it could be right.

Crunchy for first post, and it making sense...
i still think its too easy of an answer, though... could be wrong myself

I don't think it makes much difference but thought I toss out the fact that Ringo Starr's son Zach Starkey plays drums for The Who these days. He also was drumming for Oasis before they split.
I did some research about monkeys and the warmest monkey seems like it would be the woolly monkey from South America. There are four types of woolly monkeys but they are all color-based (silver woolly monkey, etc.) so I don't see anything there. I can't find anything about their babies either so I think I was pursuing a dead end.
My point here is to prevent anybody else from wasting their time going down that road, though I suppose that there may be an argument that being from South America (Latin Tent), the offspring could be a Latin-based band with a monkey-related derivation.

I went there but took it another direction. I figure the warmest monkey would have to live in the coldest place. Because if it wasn't the warmest of monkeys it would die in those conditions. The most northern living non-human primate is the Japanese Macaque, also referred to as the snow monkey. That is where I stopped because it looked like Arctic Monkeys and too easy.
well there was the movie "Bedtime for Bonzo" (about a monkey)
when its bedtime you get tucked into bed... (makes you warmer)
Bonzo would be John Bonham
his offspring would be Jason Bonham
sooooo... say it with me
LED ZEPPELIN!
just realized there is a realistic path that this can lead to. take away the idea of led zeppelin and jason bonham still fits. he recently finished playing with Thunder on their farewell tour but has been known to play drums from Foreigner... not a huge fan but possible??? maybe

This one is way out in left field, but...
If you remove one letter from Monkey, you get Money. Money=Cash Johnny Cash's biggest hit was Ring of Fire. Fire is very warm. His offspring, Roseanne, recently released an album of cover songs suggested by her father called "The List." So my guess is Roseanne Cash.
