I'm supposing for a moment that the clue reads "in his offspring" instead of "and his offspring". If so then "the one monkey" <the one member of gorillaz> "that was the warmest" <most well known> "in his offspring." <in his group> This would almost certainly point to a Damon Albarn and since it said the one monkey I think may indicate a solo set! I like this answer well enough at least to give my brain a rest for the moment.
only because it doesn't take care of the and his offspring part of it. the chilli peppers are what it's made from, so that would be more like the parents than the offspring. first part of it is great though.
Ozomatli's latest album was titled "Don't Mess with The Dragon". Dragons breath fire making this album the warmest monkey. Maybe it's offspring is one of the songs on the album.
Maybe the monkey part of the clue is referring to the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" monkeys. If you speak no evil you would be mum. Offspring could be sons. SO possibly Mumford and Sons. I think it might be a little bit of a stretch but I thought I would share my theory.

I hope you're prepared to do A LOT of reading. Also, I'm not sure that even after the lineup came out we really understood how many of them made sense.

Oh, I forgot about that part. I definitely think there's something here. Regardless of the clue, i think they would make a ton of sense at Bonnaroo. Here's a clip from their bio
They are staunch friends - Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane - who bring their music to us with the passion and pride of an old-fashioned, much-cherished, family business. They create a gutsy, old-time sound that marries the magic of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young with the might of Kings Of Leon, and their incredible energy draws us in quickly to their circle of songs, to the warmth of their stories, and to their magical community of misty-eyed men.

Sorry I should have quoted the post I was thanking for.. I meant the answer on my djjd question
George Jones, Arctic Monkeys, The Monkees, Gorillaz and G-Unit make no sense.
Was naming them best to worst of bands mentioned in the thread.
Btw, George Jones suits Curious George and his offspring (Georgette, who's his daughter and sings with him). Since it's one of my guesses, I'd say it's good. ;D

oh my bad. i quoted the wrong person. haha. carry on.
Can anyone point me in the direction of the clues from last year? I want to read them and see them solved, haha.
They're on my website, if you click the link in my sig and then click Past and then 2009 Clues. But there are a couple we don't know the logic for. Or at least I don't, if anyone can fill in any of the gaps let me know.

OH YEAH, natedogg, that makes a ton of sense... their side-project thing is actually called Monkey, and is composed of Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett and is kind of awesome. Though I'd rather have Gorillaz...

I can't see DJ JD using the word "monkey" in the clue as a substitute for Gorillaz if the side-project is actually called Monkey. Not only is he not likely to use the name of the band in the clue, it would also sort of defeat the point of replacing Gorillaz with monkey.
I know the Arctic Monkeys would be too obvious, but this article talks about how Al Gore is the unofficial "5th member" of the band due to his passion on global warming.
