Was the word "one" actually in the clue as you guys heard it or did I scribble that to myself because it was clue number one? Seems like he actually said it...right?

First thought: Pixies' Monkey gone to heaven lyric: "The the devil is six" since that would be the "warmest" monkey. So then something to do with the devil or maybe the number six? Devil's offspring...sinners, idle hands?

Where are our mac people who are actually able to rewind back and replay? No matter...if last year is any indication there will be an archive of clue recordings provided by djjd himself.

what about The Monkees? If not a reunion, then substitute warmest for hottest and you get Davey Jones, who Yahoo! Music declared in 2008 the #1 Teen Idol of all time courtesy of wikipedia.

^God I hope not...though my mother (and Marcia Brady) would love it.

Maybe the monkey part of the clue is referring to the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" monkeys. If you speak no evil you would be mum. Offspring could be sons. SO possibly Mumford and Sons. I think it might be a little bit of a stretch but I thought I would share my theory.

I'm amazed no one has tried to make this a David Bowie clue yet! I'm sure there's some way in which you can claim Davy Jones was the "warmest" Monkee. ;D
Anyway, the way the clue is worded, it sounds like if we do figure out what the warmest monkey means, the next step is "(something) and son" or "(something) junior" or whatever. Not saying that the act we're looking for is along those lines, just that I'm thinking that's the next step.

I thought the same thing about hot chip but a baby monkey isn't a chimp...it's an infant (I looked it up). Not coming up with anything with the word infant unfortunately. I also considered the see/hear/speak no evil but couldn't decide which of those might be warmest.

Good idea, but don't think that's it. I was also thinking of the see no evil deal, but couldn't piece together what band would work.
