Only two players posted in the thread between Wolf's death & HGH getting whacked: NTRT & Chief.
I think this increases their likelihood of having PM-the-Ref roles.

edit: Just looked, and 50 posts only takes you back two days. If you do 100 posts, and then start at the bottom, you'll get a more representative sample of the times I was on the board last week. Pretty much all the time.

You two started off voting like you were against each other, but you both wound up voting with each other. If NTRT is Mafia, this Day One vote absolutely reeks of you being in cahoots...
I don't get why you're saying my vote for wolf looks suspicious. I started out voting for bacon, and then wolf voted for me right after that (remember, for "funsies"). Of course I'm going to change my vote to wolf after that. If anyone looked suspicious there, it was wolf, not me.
That vote looks suspicious, in light of the player you initially opposed coming back to later vote in cooperation with you... You do understand why this appears suspicious, right?

ok, i'm sorry. i've been reading back through everything, but i've had SUCH a long weekend that none of this is processing very well. can someone sum up the theories?
kdogg...since i am leaning towards your innocence at this point, would you be so kind as to tell me whom you think is most suspicious at this point? obviously NTRT...but who else and why?
So... let me just make sure I've got this scenario down right...
Chief = Inspector NTRT = Mafia, name given to Inspector. kdogg = cleared by Inspector Night One
HGH = Mafia's first whack (probably Townsperson) after she voted for the following: Wolf = voted against by NTRT into runoff, so is probably innocent... Jen = the reason Mafia got worried & whacked HGH?
I should also like to add that Hippie voted for Chief in the initial vote, but has opted to read things over rather than to vote for Chief right away. I think that shows she wasn't acting on any special knowledge she had about Chief, a possibility I had been also considering.

I'm just saying that my vote for wolf doesn't make me look suspicious. I don't see how you can use my vote against wolf -- after he voted for me first -- to make me look suspicious.
Kdogg, when bacon falsely claimed to be inspector, he said he had asked about me and found out I was innocent. I knew I was innocent, and that's why I believed him. I handed the victory to the mafia in that game.
That still doesn't explain away the fact that Chief refused to reciprocate my vote, even at the risk of death...
You voted for chief, and then his very next post was the coming out as inspector post. The only thing I can figure is that chief saw that only hippie was left to vote, she had voted for him before, and several people had already voiced suspicion of him. Instead of voting for you and risking the deciding vote coming from someone who had voted for him once already, he decided to pull the inspector trick. If he just reciprocated your vote, he wouldn't have the plausible deniability that has nulled your vote.
I think we're getting a little too far removed from HGH's death in figuring out where to go next.
I'm not yet sure what to make of all this...

Bek: What do you think of you & I casting opposing votes to send two worthy candidates into a runoff? We might be better off with that than voting for one another. I think a NTRT/Chief runoff would benefit Townspeople best. They're clearly on opposing sides, one of these two is definitely Mafia, and the voting trail that would be left could very well turn out quite helpful to the Townspeople later in the game...

I wish I had more names than that but I had to out myself in order to give you gals/guys the only name I had.
We need to make a Chief/NTRT runoff happen. Given the situation, I'm convinced one of these two is Mafia. We can consider it a referendum about who is telling the truth, and hopefully the voting will expose some alliances we haven't yet seen.

I am the Inspector (a thankless job) and I'll admit that I'm horrible at it. NTRT was the name that was given to me. I've been trying not to keep it low key but not only do i suck at being inspector i just downright suck at this game.
After the first day I asked about kdogg and he is innocent. I asked about him because I really do enjoy his input and i am easily swayed by his well thought out theories. I had to know if i could trust him, and now i can. But that wouldn't matter because I'm in his croshairs now.

But At least put me in a run off with someone who might be mafia because Kelaroo told me with exclamation points of kdogg's innocence.

if we put the alleged inspector against the alleged mafia member he's directly accusing, and he's RIGHT, the mafia will just make sure they all vote for NTRT so they don't appear suspicious. because at this point, anyone who seems directly opposed to chief's claim as inspector, also implies that kdogg may not be innocent, therefore casting guilt on themselves on more than one level.
so, i don't see how a runoff between these two will be at all productive. i am, however, more than ok with offing the one name he claims to have. i feel like the real inspector wouldn't have come out with such little info unless he had to, which chief felt he did. also, i think that with the questions surrounding chief's claim, that the mafia would have conjured up some other story about them being inspector to at least split the votes, no?
i don't know. i think at this point i'd rather risk killing an innocent who MIGHT be mafia, than killing an innocent who MIGHT be inspector. does that make sense?
i'll let people respond before i cast my vote. i'd like to hear some feedback.
Higgi, if you want me in a runoff, then voting for me isn't the way to do it. There are only 9 people left to vote, and apparently everybody's voting for me or Chief. Assuming kdogg upholds his deal, I'm in the lead 4-3.
Somebody who wants a runoff is going to have to vote for someone besides me or Chief.
