And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

Eh...they aren't really local boys. They're currently based in Nashville, but they're mostly from the east coast/ Northeast. I mean, they formed at Ithaca College.
I guess I considered them local because they live/Got popular being based out of Nashville.
How about The Raconteurs? They're from Nashville, which is just right down the road. Plus, "largely by wood" could refer to the fact that half of the group is made up Jacks (i.e. lumberjacks). I don't think it's The Dead Weather because it says "local boys" and the group isn't all men.

Wow. If this clue really means KOL it's depressingly easy.
So I'm going to keep trying to come up with something else. Uh, I know I've argued the opposite in the past, but does anyone think there's any significance to the Beatles reference?
