MOJO: Do you have a strategy on close-in camping? Doe arriving later on Thursday help?
The last three years I have gotten in line between 8 and 10 am and gotten close in camping. There is a luck factor but, I believe your odds are increased by arriving early but not too early. In '04 and '05 I arrived in the afternoon and camped fairly far away.
43 here. 2nd Roo, this year I'm taking my 14 y/o son.
Last year we parked over behind where the row of food and vendors are (the sanctioned ones) and I schleped all our stuff up to camping only. I liked the nearness and the space. I'll be glad to have help hauling all my crap this year though. :-D
We camped right in front of the inforoo tent and I can see why it was missed. I was probably no more than three tents away and once all the tents went up, you couldn't see the flag at all. I didn't even know they were there until Saturday afternoon. LOL Now I know what to look for.
Me & the wife (mid 50's) will be there for #4. Bringing the daughter & her boyfriend (mid 20's). We'll see if the kids can keep up or if they'll bury the old folks!
Some of us over 40 Roo'er are meeting at the Inforoo brunch on Friday and by the Solar stage at 6-6:45 P on Thurs. No one's a stranger!
Thanks for the info. I've set a Reminder on my cell phone for the Solar Stage meeting, and I'll certainly be at Brunch. I'll try to remember to bring some Geritol and Metamucil for y'all Seniors.
Hi, I'm over 50 and this is my first roo. I going solo and this board has been a huge help. I've been wanting to experience roo for several years. This is the first year it works for me, but unfortunately not my friends. I'm looking forward to meeting fellow rooers and having a great time.
Hello, as my grand master told me many years ago,"Age makes no difference"anyway we are coming out of Mc Donald Tn and this is our forth year, we are in our late 50's and I would not miss this for almost nothing, I wonder how many of us are in RVs,we are not bringing a large group with us this year, normally we load up 6-10 20-30 year olds and they are so entertaining, it keeps you young but, I am most apprecitive to have a little more common sense, I do not drink Irish car bombs at 7am, but I'm thinking about it ;D
