So for the past two years, I've been so burned out at the end of each day that I haven't been able to make it past 2-2:30am. And I notice that some of the best times and best experiences occur between 3-6am. So I was wondering what ya'll did to stay awake all night, do you take naps during the day and miss some shows? Do you take a nap later in the evening and miss some shows, or do you just stay awake the whole time without any rest?

Naps!
There's usually only 8 or 10 bands that I consider unmissable, so I nap alot during the day. Head into Centeroo as soon as you wake-up. You can get a couple of extra hours of quality, peaceful sleep there. Stay away from caffeine drinks. They only make it worse in the long-run! Besides that, just don't drink or dance too much until the sun goes down.
Bonnaroo is all about the latenight action! Do whatever it takes to be awake for it! You will thank yourself!
We work third shift so staying up all night is no problem. If you have some time off before Bonnaroo, switch your sleeping around and try to sleep as much during the day. Also, cut down the amount of sleep you get so you can adjust to the amount you will probably end up with at roo.
I've been a hyperactive insomniac since I was 3 so I have no secrets....it's just my norm..... Bonnaroo is one of the few times a year when I actually fit in!!! ;D
lol... Well I will for sure do the nap thing during the day, cuz I'm really bummed that I've missed all the action the last TWO years, geesh, all well, I will make up for it this year.. Oh and thanks ya'll for the help
Staying awake late is tough for me too, I thought it would be easy because I work bar hours, but I am totally not used to being up before noon, let alone when the sun comes up. I do find that if I keep moving when it gets late, and avoid sitting down, I can keep things going all nite.
Just keep moving! Gotta relax in the afternoon, too. It's worth sacrificing a band or two that aren't must-sees (for you) in order to conserve energy for the bands that are.
Last year we ran all day Friday and I barely made it past Petty. On Saturday, we took a few hours to rest in the shade during the hottest part of the day and I didn't even think of sleep until Sasha was packin' it in at 6am!
Naps definitely. That's why I hope the heat is not so bad. I can't sleep during the day if it's too hot and it ruins my nightlife. I also try and find a spot in an A/C tent to crash if possible.
Also, don't forget that the relaxing-in-the-shade option doesn't mean you have to miss bands- just curl up on the perimeter of their tent (usually daytime tent shows don't completely fill) with a blanket and chill there.

I take it easy in the afternoons, I'm going to take a nap during Tool on Fri. but Sat. will be hard, but the Flaming lips will get me going. Sun I will be a walking zombie but it can be done. It's all about late night for me at Bonnaroo.
i agree i am going to nap during tool, this years late night is going to be amazing. I try to sleep in as late as i can because being up early doesn't matter. this year i am bringing a crazy creek chair, so my back won't hurt all weekend. i am really looking forward to it. and i have more room in my pack without a blanket!
I have adderall. Tons of it but Im not sure if I should take it I got a perrscription and it ended up really amping me the fuck up! like too much. I was thinking of taking it to sell, do you guys think it would sell?

LOL! How funn-eeeeeeeeeeeee! It will be fun to meet another one! Actually a lot of other ones I'm sure!!!! Not totally annoying the heck out of everyone by bouncing off the walls until then is the prob....
My secret is I booze all day, never stop dancing, and don't miss anything! I am a hyperactive person who convinces his mind to go with his body in fear that if I stop dancing, Bonnaroo will EXPLODE!!!
bamabelle and I have somewhat of the same problem as I am also a Hyperactive Insomniac.
What makes Bonnaroo great is our normal problem becomes the solution!

LOL! I just got this mental image of a HUGE moon bounce with all us hyperactive insomniacs jumping around screaming BOOOONAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ;D I really am losing it....
some of the replys in this thread make me wanna go back to bed , how in the HELL are you gonna take a nap during T00L??!? if i take a nap @ 9pm after being up and down all day, you aint seen me till the next morning!!!!
The food I eat during the day effects how I feel in the evening. I try to avoid junk "carnival" food. High sugar and fatty stuff will give you a quick jolt but latter you will be sluggish. The most important meal is breakfast of course. Bring snacks with you and eat something at least every two hours. Need energy for the roo marathon.
