Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
1. I have been every single year and purchased early bird tickets when avail. There is no-way I can sell my tickets this year for anything near face value.
2. This lineup will completely kill Shakedown Street, which is alot of fun when you dont want to watch the headliners.
3. THE Great thing about Bonnaroo is all of the random jam sit-ins with band members that you get to see unannounced. I dont think we will see much of that with this lineup
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
I agree that the lineup is underwhelming and it helps ease the pain a little on not being able to go this year.
I am completely unimpressed with the headliners. DMB, blah KOL, blah Jayz, triple ick Stevie Wonder would be great to see but as a headliner....no.
I would love to see Clutch, She & Him & The Dead Weather.
I'll be really sad to miss Tori Amos. I agree with nodepression that she is a cool rare act (especially at a festival). I'm not familiar with Brandi Carlile and Miranda Lambert so I can't draw any comparisons....but really....comparing Amos' style to Norah Jones? They are both female and both play piano but I wouldn't go so far as to say they have the same style.
If I were actually able to go this year I wouldn't mind paying for this lineup at all. Like dreamingtree, for the ticket price for several acts and the atmosphere it is worth it.....but it could defintely be much better. I never really dig the headliners as much as the other acts anyway and if it causes less schedule conflicts for me EVEN BETTER. There is nothing worse than being forced to choose between two or three really great acts that are playing at once. Going to the beginning of one show and the end of another just never works out the way I plan it....especially when acts are late and screw up your whole plan.

Does anyone think poor ticket sales could can our beloved Bonnaroo for the year? Im not sure what sort of shortcomings in sales would have to occur for this scenario to play out. Judging from the response on this board and the response from all of my bonnaroo-vet friends, seems within the realm of possibility. Not probable, but possible?

Oh I wasn't comparing their styles, I was just saying I love them both and they are talented
I think while the headliners are weak, Stevie Wonder will be one of the best headliners they've had. His shows are non-stop killer greatest hits setlists. 2hr 45min which is rare for "nostalgic" acts. Also, this lineup feels like they picked a bunch of random artists, with no real flow. People who say it's about diversity, Bonnaroo is diverse every year. This year they're too diverse, there is no flow to the lineup. That being said I still love the lineup, and will be there. A lot of amazing acts like Regina Spektor, Phoenix, She & him, deadmau5, thievery co., lcd, punch brothers, steve martin, mmw, black keys, avett bros, big sams funky nation, chromeo and DARYL HALL! and a lot more. They will definitely add a few more acts that will make your mouth water, and hopefully some big comedy name.
I can't take any of your post seriously when Tori Amos = whiny. I understand people that don't dig on chick music, but guess what, if you got over yourself enough to give her a decent listen, you'd know that she's far from whiny. You cited three women singers. That's too much? You a big fan of radio stations that don't allow their DJs to play two bands with women leads back to back? Your opinion is valid, and I'd like to read it - but it borders ridiculous when any woman singer = whiny. You sound like the whiny one.
Will you please stop the whining?
(just kidding, I think you make some valid points. Some of my best friends are women. )
Personally, I'm looking forward to Tori, Norah, and Brandi, even though they're no GWAR. They're among my favorites on this lineup. I do agree that the headliners are underwhelming, but again DMB and Stevie beat, by far, other recent headliners I can think of, to my tastes, but that's just me.

"The middle of the Lineup is pretty solid, but did we really need Tori Amos AND, Brandi Carlile, AND Norah Jones? When did we start giving whiny female vocalists more representation than Jam Bands?"
Dude I love the lineup but that quote is the single best question I could think to ask right now.

also if thewomen artists playing were more along the lines of Fever Ray, M.I.A, Loretta Lynn, Yoko Ono, Patti Smith, Peaches etc...People would not be complaining. I personally find the selection of many of the female artists to be rather bland.
I agree with everything Jess said. I have been to Roo 6 times, and the last couple of years I started buying tickets early because i knew that i would not be disappointed with the line-up. I can honestly say that I am a little let down for the first time this year. I was really excited about Neil Young or MMJ, just something to make the line-up get to that next level for me. I'm still going to go, because I look forward to this all year and this is my break from reality for a few days, but I would have liked some better options musically.
I'm trying to look at the brightside of things: No real interest in the headliners besides Stevie will allow me to rest-up for the latenights, and I think this year, despite everything else, has the potential to have some epic latenight acts: Bisco, LCD, Bassnectar, Thievery, etc.
And let's not forget - this lineup will make me feel less bad for watching the World Cup while at a music festival since hopefully I won't be missing anyone i terribly wanted to see.

No, I didn't think you were. Amos, Carlile, and Jones were all lumped together as having similar styles earlier in the thread....I suppose because they all have female voices
i hear that weezer plays at least 2 songs off of every album including pinkerton. hopefully this is the case at bonnaroo this year... & maybe just leave out raditude all together...

I'd like to point out that it's pretty sexist to say that a festival has "too many female acts" when the festival itself, in nine years, has never had a female headliner or that many female acts to begin with.
Sorry to be a "feminazi" buzzkill. But I think it needs be said...

I never said that there were too many females, just too many that have a similar style. Replace Brandi and Norah with Grace Potter, or Cat Power, or Carole King or any other number of acts and it would not be an issue.

Stevie is playing Sunday, at which point I am going to be tired he will be great though I agree. I never said there was not good stuff there, just that my favorite genre's, which happen to be the ones Bonnaroo was founded on are poorly represented.

i can see that.
Me too, esp. Loretta & Patti. Not so sure about Yoko though. And I don't know anything about Peaches, but will check out her music.
I'm not sure what your definition of Rock and Roll is but you forgot acts like The Dead Weather, The Black Keys, The Melvins and Clutch off your list of rock acts on the lineup.
TDW is The Dead Weather, I do not really know much about The black Keys, and the other two are pretty much metal aren't they?
Clutch is more of a blues based rock band. They used to have some heavier stuff but the newer albums have all been really blues influenced rock. They actually have a blues jam band called the Bakerton Group that, according to Clutch's website, is playing as well.

agree mostly with what you say Jess... good post. i am very shocked at the lack of jam bands in this lineup. Jam bands built Bonnaroo, I would hate to see that forgotten.
I for one am very happy with the line-up. I'm not too pumed for the headliners, but that is far from the best part of Bonnaroo.
If you have not heard the Black Keys, then you are simply missing out my friend! Black Keys are AMAZING!
John Fogerty are you kidding me? I am stoked for that show.
Avett Bros, cant miss that one.
I missed Zac Brown Band last year and I'm still upset about that.
Les claypool, enough said.
Clutch puts on a great show (there's some Rock for ya)
Jeff Beck! Really? I never thought i would get the chance to see him.
Chromeo, ever since i saw his video "Needy Girl" I have been dieing to see him.
GWAR will be on hell of a show. Im not too into their music but the show should be great.
I saw Dr. Dog in 07 at the farm and came away very impressed.
I cant wait to see She & Him. Oh how i love Zoey
Kris Kristofferson = Country Superstar Legend
There are lots of shows i want to see and a whole lot that i have never heard and thats exactly what i look for in a Bonnaroo Lineup.
Once again I am not complaining about who is there, with the exception of KOL. I am complaining about who is not there, like Gov't Mule, or RAQ, or Keller Williams, or SCI, or Furthur, or That one Guy, etc......
I am glad there is a lot on it that excites you, and there is a lot of stuff for me as well, however crappy headliners, and only 1 Jam band is not going to make me happy on a Bonnaroo lineup.
Dear God I think I am starting to channel Keith....
Jess, I would + your Crunchy for mentioning RAQ but I know you like #42. They just got back together and are playing 4/30 in NYC. That would be a very welcomed add by me.
