Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've seen Mule and the Brothers quite a few times, I realize how much they jam out, I just consider them to be part of other genres more than what I think of as "jam."
My biggest issue with the lineup is the amount of punk on it. In my opinion, punk is deader than disco and doesn't need to be represented at America's greatest music festival. .

I only really saw 2 punk bands: Against Me! and The Dropkick Murphys. Both bands weirdly being known for their quality performances. I wouldn't count gaslight anthem as punk which leaves GWAR which is just a metal sideshow. Punk has a few remaining relevant artists and the two at Bonnaroo this year will be awesome.
So I've been going to Bonnaroo since 2007, and this line-up made me actually regret buying early bird tickets. If I had known that DMB and KOL were seriously going to be the "big names" on the list, I would have passed and splurged for Coachella instead. Or Burning Man, because I would rather be sun burnt in the desert riding a bike than be at a KOL concert.
There are some bands in the undercard that I am excited to see (deadmau5, The Black Keys, LCD Soundsystem) but those headliners man. Buh.
If you'd rather be sunburnt on a farm riding a ferris wheel than at a KoL concert, I think we can probably arrange that. Just this once, though.

It'd be nice to see some punk legends like Social D, Agnostic Front, Agent Orange, Napalm Death, Bad Brains, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Circle Jerks, Cockney Rejects, The Exploited, more Gogol Bordello please!, or Rancid. Stuff like that on the undercard. I wants it.

My biggest problem w/this years line up isn't the headliners. I generally dont care about them. If I do like them I'll check them out, if not , I prefer the tent acts. Im not fond of the headliners this year though.
I dont have a problem with diversity of the lineup. To me there has been alot of diversity in the lineups for the past several years.I dont have a problem w/ the many female artists either. I 've seen some of them before and would enjoy seening the ones I haven't. I dont really care for jam bands, but I dont care if tere in the lineup. I had a blast last year and the lineup was jam heavy, I caght a few of the rap/hip hop acts last 2 years also.
The biggest problem is the lack of indie bands. Maybe Im the only one, I never see anyone mention how there are hardy any worth wild indie bands(I dont check all the trends here so I might be mistaken). The last 2 years were heavy on indie. Artists such as MGMT, Battles, Vampire Weekend, !!!, Tegan and Sara ,Rilo Kiley,Cat Power, Sigur Ros,Lady Tron, Chair lift, Passion Pit, Portugal the Man, YYY's, St. Vincent, Crystal Castles, Bon Iver, Jenny Lewis, Decemberists, Just to nameafew. That was only the last two years. This year there are very few of these type of bands. Blitzen Trapper, The XX, She and Him, Neon Indian and a few more are the gems. But, Im really missing the the heavy indie influence this year. Maybe Im just the minority.

you're not, i feel the same way
look at last year, ridiculous
Decemberists, Mars Volta, Rod y Gab, Ted Leo, TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Band of Horses, Andrew Bird, Yeasayer + the ones you mentioned. Plus indie legends like David Byrne, Wilco

punk died when at the drive-in died.
agrees with this. "relationship" was the last true punk album. and what an album... i see no punk on this lineup really. i only see bands one would label as punk if they'd never listened. post-punk/ prog punk, whateveryoucallit, maybe. but ignorant ears are always too eager to label.
