Old t-shirts that I wear to the gym, gym shorts with pockets, camelbak, boxer briefs (much better than boxers IMO), and one of several pairs of shoes I'm bringing including Treksta water shoes, Sanuks, Keen's, flip-flops and a pair of sneaks. If one pair of shoes is still wet and muddy from the day before, I'll just put on another pair. Pa-dow!

Tank tops, gym shorts, jorts, Under Armour boxerjocks (no need for gold bond with these), sanuks/old-runners/toms/mudders... And I'm sure I'll end up in the tie-dye man-skirt again
so I'm thinking of starting my switch from boxers to boxer briefs. Do you think they will be better for chafing?
DO IT!!! And get the Jockey stay cool boxer briefs. I picked up a pack a month ago to see how well they worked and I can honestly say that after a workout there is a substatial difference in swamp crotch compared to my normal Joe Boxers or whatever.

Not to be graphic but doesn't it get really hot wearing nut huggers? I'm all about avoiding the swamp ass but I'm skeptical...

reef flip flops (most comfortable anything on my feet ive ever worn), cargo shorts, white t and a pimp hat, (wide brim keeps the sun off my face and neck),
I am bringing what has worked for me other places.. 3 pairs of cargo pants...6 pairs of socks...3 pairs of shoes (two pairs of Nike runners and one pair of Nike trail sandals), some awesome t-shirts, 4 pairs of boxer briefs, wide brimmed army-style (camo) hat, hoodie, rain jacket (just in case) & a pair of jeans (just in case)

Is at sad I'm like really jealous of all the activity the girl's thread gets? Was hoping someone would try and revive this one this year. With that said, this year bright, neon colors is the route I'm going.
think i can get by without bringing boots for the rain?
Yup
Boots suck! Walkin around at roo everytime I wear them with all the walking to and in centeroo; my dogs are barking big time. I'd rather be comfortable and muddy in tennis shoes, five, fingers, or whatever!

watch out - hen in the cockhouse: don't you worry HakunaMATTata, this thread will blow up as it gets closer to Roo... if you start talking about the pos/neg of gold bond v. body glide, the pages will start PILING up.

Haven't really thought of clothing attire, considering it is a long way away. Most likely i will probably throw some cargo shorts and a few shirts in a bag the weekend before. 2 things i'wnm looking into 1) Skeletoe's- those shoes with the individual toes, friend wore them last time said they were awesome thinking i might try it 2) My own straw hat, brought father units down last time, just want to have my own
Under Armor will most likely be added as well.
Unless really planning on a costume or something i feel like it is a lot easier for dudes at roo

I went in 2009 when it rained heavily and I did not bring boots, and I regretted it. I went to Walmart on my way down in 2010 and found some cheap steal toe rubber galoshes for around $10. I plan on bringing them again this year. I would rather have them than not in the event that it floods. Once your shoes get soaked, you're kind of screwed.

I use high top reebok classics. Still have pair I wore in 09. They aren't waterproof but my feet did stay pretty dry. Just used baby wipes to clean mud off them each day.
One of the reasons I bumped this thread was hats. I have been looking at a few different styles that have a shade flap that covers the neck and ears. Anyone tried these out? Several have negative reviews due to heat being trapped under the flap, but there seem to be a few out there that have enough mesh/screen material to keep you cool.

Straw Hats would be great, but then you realize there's a 5-person group behind you who wants to light it on fire because they can't see anything over your big floppy hat.

Well tbh I get a new one every year but my usual criteria is to pick the one that seems like it would block the view of almost anyone standing anywhere behind me.
saw one link for bandanas...anyone know where to find quality (soft) for cheap? I'm thinking of bringing 6-8 bandanas, probably pass a couple out, spread the love. figure 3 should be fine for myself.

I know athletic shorts are the best choice, but has anyone else learned about the glory that is linen pants? They never get me hot or sweaty, and helps prevent sunburn on the legs. (Which I always forget to apply sunscreen to.)
These, sanuks (holy molys), bandana, under armour boxer briefs, straw hat (I never go too far into crowds, so I don't feel like a bother), and any ol' lightweight T-shirt usually does it for me!
Also, Party-Robot Costume. Party-Robot loves high-fives, so if you see him, make sure to give him one.

While not necessarily true, I find that statement to be hilarious.
