Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I incorporate outfit changes into my day at Roo. For each day I have multiple outfits with coordinating tops and bottoms with both long and short options to be fully prepared for the weather. I also incorporate alternate shirts to go with the bottoms just in case the vibe isn't right when I do my AM and PM vibe check. Because if your fit don't fit the vibe, then that's a bummer, man. I also try to incorporate something flowy; usually I drape my Buddha tapestry around me like a shawl (warmth, easily removable, flowy, vibes), though last year I also borrowed a cape that I really enjoyed. This year I may don a collar of purple feathers for an added layer of extravagance. I've gone all out with a full-body morph suit lined with el-wire; I've traversed Centeroo in nary but my skivvies as well. Roo is a good place to wear whatever the fuck makes you happy.
I like it! That's what I'm trying to go for. Well not the skivvies, but the rest of it lol. But yeah I definitely agree about needing to feel the vibe. I don't have any "cool" festival wear, so I'm trying to order stuff now so I have time to try things and figure out what works for me.
Edit: Heyyyy I'm no longer a 2-star schmuck! Looks good.
Don't worry, my days of dancing in my undies at Roo are long behind me; I'm pretty sure that's before I was even on the boards. And yeah while the beginning of my post was mostly joking, I do like to have my outfit be a bit more expressive than what I might wear IRL. It's a rare chance to exist out of a certain group of societal norms, and I think that's fun.
Though I'm rethinking the top hat this year. It's served me well as a beacon to help people find me in an crowd, but it's not exactly the most comfortable thing, and makes me a couple inches taller in environments where people actively want to see over me.
Here are a few things I've gotten so far. None of it has come in yet, so no idea if they'll fit or look good on me yet. Apologies if it takes up a lot of room on desktops.
I've been thinking about posting this in here for a while and am mildly embarrassed to talk about but what the fuck ever: no matter what underwear (material/style/etc) I wear at festivals I always end up with ridiculous amounts of chafing because my thighs and ass are enormous (😏). I've looked into it a few times, but 9 times out of 10 the companies that try and resolve this issue are usually making underwear or shorts targeted at gay men, which is of course not a bad thing, but the fact that all the models in their promos are incredibly jacked guys is and leaves me wondering if any of this stuff would work for me since I am, uhh, not that. any advice on this front would be much appreciated!

Have you tried Body Glide?
I have but I also don’t feel it works that well preventively for me.

assume you’ve tried gold bond too? It’s cliche but a life saver for me.
Didn’t want to respond to multiple posts in succession, but I like those socks above.
I also tend to dress a little more “expressively”/out there at festivals. I used to go for strictly comfort, and don’t focus too much on fashion in real life (beyond some nice suits for work), but appreciate the ability to break out a bit. I also feel like an interesting or vibrant festival outfit is a a small contribution to the overall festival community, as silly as that is.
That being said, I have put off shopping for clothes for Roo thus far, but probably need to get on that soon.
Going on etsy when you're excited in the lead up to Bonnaroo is dangerous lol. I made one final crazy purchase, and I can't lie, I'm really excited to wear it. I'm kind of a shy person, so I'll simultaneously be breaking out of my shell a bit while also being incognito, which helps me with dancing and shit. I definitely don't plan to wear this all the time or anything since I'll want to see clearly. I did ask the seller to leave off some of the sequins around the eyes though.

Yes, it's marketed toward women. Yes, Monistat is generally known for yeast infection medication, but this can be used on any folx regardless of genitalia. This stuff is the shit. It's a gel that turns into a powder as soon as you rub it onto your skin, so not sticky or messy at all. No scent either. It is a LIFE SAVER.

Damn, I have never tried that before. Gold Bond has always been my go to for chafing.

I have never tried Gold Bond, because this product is so good I've never needed to try anything else.
I honestly didn't even realize 1) it's called a baja hoodie, 2) that people still wore these 3) and that they are still available to buy. I thought they died in the 90s. I should have known better, everything comes back again.
Will finally have an opportunity to wear this. Temps right now are looking pretty perfect too, hope it holds. If you see me walking around, feel free to wave or yell “origin” and see if my heads turns lol
Wonder why this thread died. I hope others won't mind reviving it.
So, what's your preferred clothing nowadays? Or fashion accessories, if you like them.
For me, caps and backpacks. I always use them. Have like a dozen of them. And now I want to try a leather backpack. Always wanted it. Eyeing this backpack. Looks so stylish and the leather should feel so nice to the touch.

generally some variation of "prep" or "ivy style" but with a dash of workwear thrown in.
i've mostly given up on slim fit pants, preferring at least straight fit, moreso relaxed/wider leg fits with a high rise that sits on the natural waist.
so basically chinos or jeans or worsted wool pants. t-shirts/polo or OCDB. shetland wool sweaters or flannels. birkenstocks, sneakers, penny mocs, penny loafers, longwings, bluchers, boots. for outerwear a barbour jacket is pretty much essential, but i have a handful of other outerwear options: harringtons/chore coats. blazers/sport coats for office, typically dartless/sack jackets.
of course it being 96 degrees right now i'm mostly shorts/t-shirt/polo/birkenstocks/sneakers.
and regarding sneakers at my age i'm basically done with any kind of hype or cool sneaker. just new balance 990s, an old pair of white diadoras, or Xero Prio Neos.
basically my aim is to look like the guys in the Drake's lookbooks without paying Drake's prices.

Since Michael Bastian took over at Brooks Brothers, they've been releasing some cool pieces. Sometimes some of the cool stuff makes it to sale/clearance in a variety of sizes and the staples can be a good buy when there's a discount.
For festivals, I'm definitely a fan of breathable, short-sleeve button downs versus t-shirts. So much available in fun patterns theste days. Feel like I get better air flow on a hot day and you can unbutton a few buttons.
Kuhl makes great hiking pants. Their lightweight versions are great for festivals and they make shorts too.
