I figured we needed a thread of our own since we aren't properly represented in any of the other threads..

... ahahaha just kidding, we totally dominate this forum. Keep up the good work. Hey while I'm rambling in this new thread for no reason, any of you Bloomington or nearby Indiana folk going to All Good? Currently I'm going solo, but if someone wanted to combine forces... let me know! ;D
haha yeah it's pretty sweet. I've heard a lot of good things about Richmond too, though. You don't happen to know a guy goes by the name "Pirate Matt" do you? Or the band "Pedals on our Pirate Ships"?
It's pretty wild that we are not only regular posters that live in Bloomington, but we also grew up in Greene County and had never met before Inforoo. Cheers to that!
Greene county...I have a few friends from there...but you two seem so smart...just kidding....The weird thing was I found out wolfaroo was friends with with one of my best friends (her brother actually) from Terre Haute. I found out when he pop up on a friend of hers on facebook....Inforoo...gathering of the tribes...
It'd be a lot cooler if you were.......in my best southern draw. Which is pretty damn good considering I'm from southern Indiana.
I've actually noticed the longer I live here, the worse my accent gets. I talk to so many 65 year old men at work every day. It rubs off on me and gets real bad if I drink.

Greene county is not exactly the jewel of Indiana, for sure. One of the bigger, poorer, meth-riddled counties in the state. Glad to be living in Bloomington now haha.
Never heard of Pfreak Show, but that's not too surprising considering the availability of live performances here. I've successfully seen live music just about every day for the last two or three weeks I think, and I'm pretty sure none of them were repeats.
I saw Pfreak Show at the Bird when I was 20 (thank you, fake IDs). Decent rock cover band. I believe they are still playing Indiana/Ohio/Illinois on a regular basis.
Well we should have plenty of opportunities this summer, bring the kids out and we'll go on a boating / camping trip or something some time. Turns out I may skip it today anyway, the fellas are going to be playing / practicing down on Kirkwood at 4:30, probably swing by and watch. ;D

Hmm...I'm at a dinner at Upland from 6-8ish. I'll probably miss out on the whole thing. The girls would *love* to get out on a boat again. I lost our boat in the divorce, so it's been awhile.

Yes they are (Michigan as well). Pretty good friends over the years with these guys and they have a female lead (Meredith) who does an awesome job on Janis's "Take another Little Piece of My Heart" Worth a look for their sheer stage presence and crazy antics. Dave (lead singer/bass player) literally is crazy and Chris (lead guitar player) has worked with Ted Nudgent a lot in the past.

Just make sure Shannon (the owner, red hair) does it at Genuine. He's done one of mine. He can be a total dick but he's a pretty good artist, locally anyways. It probably shouldn't cost anymore than $75 to do what you want. Well, actually I haven't gotten a new tattoo for about 8 years so the prices may have increased.

Considering there's not much detail involved with this tat, I don't care too much who does it. I've read a lot of good reviews of Genuine and the people that work there, so I'm not too concerned really. Plus the girls are all very attractive ;D

True, true. That's been something I've had on my radar for about a year, but just have never made the move. I have NO CLUE what I would convert it to...I really don't like what it is now. It's screams '18-yr. old drunk girl.'
haha I'm glad I waited 10 years to get one, and I really like the bird silhouettes. Plus they are small enough that if I decide I hate it in another 10 years it shouldn't be too hard to convert them into something else or even ink something in around them... If you are feeling crazy I'm going to be down at Genuine at around 6:30 - 7, we could get inked together

This is my first post, but I have been a lurker for about two years now.. Saw this thread and decided it was time to come out of the closet.. Born and Raised in Beautiful Bloomington, Indiana. As much as I have wanted to leave, the closer I come to doing it. This town just brings me back in. Im at the Bird every wed. night for the $0.15 beers. Hi to all my fellow Townies!

Welcome. I happen upon the bird on Wednesdays occasionally but have only bought one $.15 Miller Lite in my 5 years here. I just can't do it. Even at $.15, it seems like a rip off.

Hey people. I just got a Bonnaroo ticket the other day after visiting the website and seeing that Thievery Corporation was coming. They are instradraw for me. I just hope they get a night slot.
I live in Bloomington and am an IU graduate student of a few years now, after doing undergrad here as well. I go to the good (what I consider good at least) music shows at the Bird (saw Bone Thugs, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Vibesquad this school year) but that's about it these days. Life is pretty sheltering with the lab. Don't get me wrong though, I may be a scientist but a gonzo one and therefore the dark-light side allows itself to shine when the timing (festivus) is right.
Anyways I currently am planning on driving by myself but would prefer not to. If anyone is looking for a ride or people to ride with I'd be happy to arrange something. Or maybe a group drive down/camp would be cool too. Hopefully we can get something going here.
